Two arrested in Ulu Tiram viral road rage incident

SERI ALAM: Two men were arrested yesterday over a viral road rage incident involving a lorry driver in Ulu Tiram that sparked public outrage online.
The 44-second video clip, uploaded on Facebook, showed the duo confronting and threatening the lorry driver, allegedly over a traffic misunderstanding on May 11 at 1.30pm.
Police investigations revealed the altercation stemmed from the lorry driver's sudden lane change and delayed use of turn signals.
Seri Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said both suspects, aged between 18 and 21, were picked up at 4.30pm yesterday (May 12) in Ulu Tiram.
"One of the suspects was found with a wooden baton, which he allegedly used to threaten the victim during the confrontation," he said in a statement today.
Checks revealed that one of the suspects had a prior criminal record. However, both tested negative for drugs.
The suspects have been remanded for four days until May 16 to facilitate investigations under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation, which carries a jail term of up to seven years or a fine or both, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for misuse of network facilities.
Sohaimi urged those with information on the incident to contact investigation officer Inspector Muhammad Izzat Syafiq at 014-92427274 or the Seri Alam control centre at 07-3871422 or 07-3861422.

EAIC Refers AADK Drug Release Case to Public Prosecutor

PETALING JAYA: The Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) has concluded its investigation into allegations that National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) officers in Negeri Sembilan released drug addicts who tested positive during an operation two years ago.
