Al Abdulghani Motors honours young talents at Toyota Dream Car Art Contest Awards

Al Abdulghani Motors, the authorized distributor of Toyota in Qatar, announced the winners of the 18th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest during a special ceremony held at the Toyota showroom in Lusail. The event brought together students, parents, teachers, Qatari athletes Ali Arshid and Cherif Younousee, and representatives of Al Abdulghani Motors to honor the creativity and imagination of the next generation.
This year's contest welcomed more than 500 creative drawings from students across more than 200 schools in Qatar. Young artists were invited to design their 'Dream car', a vehicle that brings happiness, solves real-world challenges, or contributes to a better tomorrow. The artworks reflected inspiring ideas that ranged from sustainability and environmental protection to community unity and compassion.
The contest featured three age categories: under 7 years, 8 to 11 years, and 12 to 15 years. Three winners were selected from each category and honored during the event by senior management from Al Abdulghani Motors, who presented them with certificates and exciting prizes.
The winning drawings will be submitted to the World Contest in Japan, and if selected at the global level, winners will receive valuable prizes from Toyota Motor Corporation. An additional 25 finalists were recognized for their outstanding creativity, and three of them were awarded based on the results of an online competition hosted by Al Abdulghani Motors, where the public was invited to cast their votes.
During the ceremony, Qatari athletes Ali Arshid, a member of the Global Team Toyota Athletes (GTTA) program, and Cherif Younousse, Qatar's beach volleyball champion sponsored separately by Al Abdulghani Motors, joined the celebration, bringing an extra spark of inspiration to the young participants.
The athletes interacted with the students, encouraging them to pursue their passions with determination and creativity. They shared powerful insights from their journeys as national champions, highlighting the values of perseverance, discipline, and the courage to dream big principles that resonate with the vision of the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest and the core values of Toyota Motor Corporation.
Since its launch in 2004, the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest has engaged over 9.4 million children from 144 countries. More than just a competition, it is a platform to nurture imagination and celebrate the artistic expression of the next generation of inventors, thinkers, and dreamers.
Al Abdulghani Motors continues to champion this global contest in Qatar as part of its Corporate Social & Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, fostering creativity and providing young talents with a platform to showcase their vision for a better world. The match was decided in a marathon tiebreak that lasted 16-14 in favour of the Qatari star, who shone with steadfastness and confidence under pressure to deservedly secure the title. This was Rabeah second title in the same tournament after a bronze medal in the under-13 section, despite originally competing in the under-11 category. The triumph highlights his great potential as a promising player from Qatar Table Tennis Association's (QTTA) Dream Team project. Meanwhile, Rasha Laghribi made history in her first international event by winning gold in the under-11 Junior category with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Greek player Cleo Madesi. Rasha started the match trailing in the first set 9-11, but quickly regained her composure and won the second set 11-7. Despite losing the third set 9-11, she showed strong character and came back strongly in the fourth, winning 11-6, to win the match in a tiebreaker 11-9 and claim the gold medal. Rasha also won a bronze medal in the under-13 category. The double achievement which underlines her status as one of the most upcoming talent. This victories of the Qatar players are the fruits of the great efforts made by QTTA to support emerging talent through participation in international tournaments and by providing them exposure and experience. This victory in Kosovo is an important milestone in the journey of the Qatari Dream Team, which includes a group of promising players.

The Qatari athletics team secured two medals; one gold and one bronze, on Thursday, 29 May 2025 at the Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, South Korea. The competition, running until 1 June 2025, features 2,000 athletes from 43 nations. The gold medal came from the men's 4x400m relay team, consisting of Abderrahman Samba, Ammar Ismail, Basem Mohamed, and Hatem Hamid, who claimed first place with a time of 3:03.52 minutes. The Indian team took silver with a time of 3:03.67 minutes, while the Chinese team won bronze with 3:03.73 minutes. The bronze medal was earned by Zakaria Ibrahim in the 3,000m steeplechase, finishing third in 8:27.12 minutes. The silver medal went to Japan's Yutaro (8:24.41 minutes), while India's Avinash secured gold with 8:20.92 minutes. Ammar Ismail won the gold medal in the 400m race during the championship's opening yesterday. With today's victories, Qatar now has three medals in the championship, two golds and one bronze.
