Jerry Jones Leaves Fans Stunned with Latest Health Update
News of the terrifying health incident emerged following comments in the Netflix documentary America's Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys, set to be released next week.
Jones, in the fifth episode of the documentary, refers to undergoing cancer treatments at MD Anderson Cancer Center 'about a dozen years ago.'
He expanded upon those comments with the local newspaper.
Jones underwent two lung surgeries and two lymph node surgeries as part of his treatment, while crediting an experimental PD-1 trial drug for his recovery, calling it a 'real miracle.'
'I was saved by a fabulous treatment and great doctors and a real miracle [drug] called PD-1 [therapy],' Jones told the Dallas Morning News. 'I went into trials for that PD-1, and it has been one of the great medicines.'

Jerry Jones, who will turn 83 in October, shocked fans with the health update. Many were unaware of his off-the-field battle with advanced cancer.
But the health journey ultimately turned out positive. He is now cancer-free.
'I now have no tumors,' he said.
Fans on social media celebrated the news, pointing out that despite their disappointment in him as an owner, they're glad he was able to fight through the sickness.
'It's bigger than football- get well soon, Jerry,' one fan wrote.
The Melanoma Research Alliance praised Jones for sharing the story of his battle with the disease.
'We're grateful Jerry Jones shared his story of facing stage 4 #melanoma and how research gave him more time,' they responded. 'His experience highlights the power of clinical trials and why continued investment in science is so important.'
'He may be the reason this team (hasn't) seen a Super Bowl in 30 years, but I'm glad cancer didn't claim another victim here,' another fan said.

On that last note, we'd be remiss if we didn't discuss Jerry Jones and his team's woes when it comes to playoff success.
The Cowboys are preparing for the 2025 NFL season under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer, following a brutal 7-10 record last year, which was preceded by an even more brutal exit from the playoffs the season before at the hands of Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers.
ESPN sports personality Mike Greenberg recently put the Cowboys' lack of success in shocking perspective.
'They have won a total of five playoff games, and they have, by a wide margin, the longest drought without an appearance in the NFC title game. They were there in '95. The second-longest wait? Chicago in 2010,' he said while discussing current contract issues with their star player, Micah Parsons.
Good Lord, it hurts just to hear that.
Still, if you want to put Jerry Jones' battle with cancer into perspective, take a look at his cameo appearance in the ninth episode of Landman last season.
Jones delivered a powerful monologue about integrating family into business, and about what's important in life. He knocked it out of the park during the scene.
His speech highlighted the importance of balancing work and family life, a central narrative in Landman, especially for its main character, Tommy Norris, played by Emmy Award-nominated actor Billy Bob Thornton.
'I made my mind up a long time ago I was going to work with my kids,' Jones says in the scene, eyes tearing up. 'And they're involved in everything. They're involved in my leasing, oil and gas, real estate. And so when I got the Cowboys, I got it so that we could all work together.'
'I thought I was doing it for them, but the one that got the most out of it was me.'
While his appearance may have been helped by the fact that it was a speech about his own family life, viewers almost universally agreed – His acting was great. Now, news of his cancer battle adds to the emotion.
While Cowboys fans have every right to criticize Jerry Jones for his work as the team's owner, he believes he's still the best man for the job.
'The reason I don't let somebody else be the GM is because I don't have anybody that I will let do it to actually do it right,' said Jones in an interview with DLLS.
If doing it right means just five playoff wins in almost 30 years, I'd hate to see what doing it wrong looks like. Still, we're glad Jerry made it through the toughest battle of his life.

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams appears to be more and more comfortable with his new head coach Ben Johnson by the day. Coming into this season after an offseason filled with upgrades to the coaching staff and roster, specifically the offensive line, Williams has to pay off the investment the organization has made into him during this year. In order to do so, Williams will have to show development and production under Johnson, one of the most respected offensive minds in the NFL. After being held out of the Bears first preseason game against the Miami Dolphins, Williams was on the field for two offensive drives against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night, where the second-year quarterback had his first opportunity to show his work in Johnson's offense. Williams looked quite impressive in the short showing, completing 6-of-10 passes for 107 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions or sacks. Speaking to the media after the game, Williams jokingly complimented his head coach for being "calmer" during the game in comparison to how he is at practice. 'He's a lot more calmer on game day in the mic than he is in practice with me," Williams said. "It's great. It's exciting to be sitting there, having the headpiece in my ear right after I had however many plays I had, being able to listen to him encourage the guys. I think there was a moment where we were going for it on fourth down or something like that and something happened the play before where we got the call back and we ended up lining up. He was like, 'We're going to go get this right here.' "It's just small notes like that, that are encouraging in the moment. It's something that I don't know if he knows and he's conscious of it, but it's important to us QBs when we're out there having those small notes. He's a lot calmer on game days in the mic and that's a small note.' There was no secret that Johnson was going to come in and apply pressure to Williams quickly in order to have the young quarterback understand his offense in their first year together. The quicker that Williams can pick up the offense, the quicker the team can erase the memory of their 5-12 season last year and put more wins on the board this year while their quarterback grows and develops to the next level. High school sports participation rises nationally thanks to assist from girls flag football
The addition of girls flag football is helping fuel rising participation in high school sports nationally, with a record 8,260,891 boys and girls having participated in the last school year, according to the annual survey from the National Federation of State High School Assns. released on Monday. There were 68,847 girls playing flag football, a 60% increase from the previous year. Girls sports led the increases, including wrestling rising 15%. Football remains the most popular boys sports at 1,001,039. Track and field tops girls sports at 513,808. Girls flag football has been rising in popularity in Southern California. Joe Flacco was obvious QB1 pick, but plenty still needs to be settled in Browns' QB room
There were attempts to manufacture some drama over the Cleveland Browns' starting quarterback decision, but it was the exact outcome we've all known for months. Joe Flacco is the starter. No surprise at all. Thankfully, there's still plenty of actual drama to be sorted out in the Browns' quarterback room. Flacco will start in Week 1 but one look at an absolutely brutal six-game stretch to start the season indicates that it might not be a long-term solution. Cleveland is very likely to use more than one quarterback this season. But due to injuries and an odd four-man derby at quarterback, which was created when the team made the unconventional decision to draft two quarterbacks in the middle rounds, it's uncertain what the order will be behind Flacco. And there's just one more preseason game to go. Joe Flacco expected to play Saturday The Browns have indicated they plan to play Flacco some in the preseason finale. Stefanski wants to use this week to simulate a regular-season week, and to do that he wanted his quarterback in place. Not that anyone paying attention thought it would be anyone but Flacco. So Flacco will play some, but presumably not too much. That means there will be some evaluation time for Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, though that's complicated too. Pickett hasn't played yet in the preseason due to a hamstring injury, but he did practice last week and presumably will be ready to play by Saturday. Sanders' status is unknown after he suffered an oblique injury in warmups before a joint practice last Wednesday. Gabriel, who missed the first preseason game, got the start with Sanders sitting last week. So Flacco hasn't played yet because he was the veteran starter who didn't need preseason reps in the first two games, Pickett hasn't played at all due to injury, Gabriel missed one game and Sanders missed one game. That makes the final decisions on the depth chart a little more challenging. Who will be Browns' backup? From all accounts, the depth chart at Browns camp has been fairly static. Flacco has been treated as the starter. Pickett has missed a lot of camp but there's no indication he's not second in line. Gabriel has been third and, even after a very good showing in Cleveland's first preseason game, Sanders has been fourth. That doesn't mean that is Stefanski's final answer on the depth chart. Gabriel played well last week aside from one pick-6, showing a good understanding of the offense and delivering passes accurately. Sanders' talent level was well above his status as a fifth-round pick, and he showed it in his one preseason game. The Browns will first need to decide how many quarterbacks to keep. It's very rare for a team to keep four, but it's an unusual situation. It doesn't seem likely a team would trade for Pickett, Flacco is already named the starter and trading Gabriel or Sanders a few months after trading them seems unlikely. Then, if the Browns do keep four, Stefanski has to order them. If Flacco gets benched, that's when the order will matter. And if Pickett is up next, the order between Gabriel and Sanders will matter if he gets benched later in the season. Perhaps some of that gets settled in Saturday's preseason finale. We know Flacco will be the Browns' starter to begin the season. The rest still seems unsettled.
