Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of the Sacrifice, is observed on the third day of Hajj, which falls on the 10th of Dhul-Hijja, the 12th and final month of the Islamic calendar. Eid al-Adha is the second major festival in the Islamic calendar, celebrated roughly 70 days after Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting. This act commemorates the Prophet Abraham's (Ibrahim) willingness to sacrifice his son Ishmail (Ismael) in obedience to God. The rest of the holiday is spent visiting family and friends, exchanging greetings and gifts, and sharing festive meals. The most common greeting is Eid Mubarak. Awqaf prepares 710 mosques, praying areas for Eid Al Adha prayers
QNA Doha The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced that it has prepared 710 prayer areas and mosques all over the country for worshippers, ahead of Eid prayers. The Ministry of Endowments said that the Eid Al Adha prayer for the year 1446 on the Hijri calendar will take place at 4:58 am. The ministry ensured that the mosques and praying areas covered the biggest geographic areas, so they are close to all the state's different areas, making the prayer easier for everyone.
