EC finalises Electoral College list for 2025 Vice-President election

The Election Commission on Thursday said it has finalised the Electoral College for the vice presidential election, necessitated due to the resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar from the post.
The vice president of India is elected by an Electoral College comprising the elected members and nominated members of the Rajya Sabha and the elected members of the Lok Sabha.
In a statement, the poll authority said it has finalized the Electoral College list for the Vice Presidential Election, 2025.
The Electoral College list will be available for purchase at a counter set up in the Election Commission office from the date of notification, which is likely to be announced soon, the poll body said.
Dhankhar resigned as vice president on July 21, a little more than two years ahead of the end of his tenure.

ANI The 2002 Special Intensive Revision (SIR) voters' lists for 293 Assembly Constituencies (ACs) have been published, except one, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO, West Bengal confirmed on Thursday. '2002 SIR of 293 ACs out of total 294 ACs have been published by the WB-CEO's office," West Bengal CEO Manoj Agarwal told CEO's office is taking necessary measures to publish the 2002 SIR of the remaining one Assembly Constituency. The SIR of one AC which has not been published as it was reportedly 'not legible'. 'We are doing the needful,' a highly placed source told 2002 SIR voters' lists of more than a hundred Assembly constituencies of Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, North Dinajpur, South Dinajpur, Malda, Nadia, Howrah, Hooghly, West Midnapore, and Bankura districts have been published on the website of the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal 2002 Special Intensive Revision (SIR) voters' lists for four Assembly constituencies in two districts of West Bengal were not available at that time, it was learnt from the Chief Electoral Officer's office on Monday. The state currently has 80,680 booths which is likely to increase to one lakh.
