Priyanka Chopra's father Ashok Chopra passed away after a long illness in 2013 and the family went through a rather difficult phase in trying to cope with their loss. In a recent interview, Priyanka's mother Madhu Chopra shared that for months after Ashok's death, the three members of the family – her, Priyanka, and son Siddharth, were grieving on their own and weren't talking to each other about their feelings. Six months later, Priyanka decided that the family needed to come together to cope with the loss and so, the three of them went on a vacation to Turks and Caicos.
In a chat with Debinna Bonnerjee on her YouTube channel, Madhu shared, 'We were just immersed into each other. I had no life outside of my family, we were too tight. Priyanka and Siddharth also… Priyanka would just go to work and come back. We were a very tight unit.'
Talking about her husband's death, Madhu shared, 'The loss was not sudden, we knew he was ill so we were mentally prepared a little bit but when the loss actually happened, all three of us were grieving on our own, in different ways. Six months into that, Priyanka said this is not working, we have to share with each other, we have to be together so she took us on a holiday to Turks and Caicos, just the three of us.'

Madhu said that until then, they had not cried to process the loss. 'We hadn't cried until then. We wouldn't speak to each other, just all three of us quietly moving around, going on with our lives as if nothing happened, that was like our defence mechanism. I wouldn't cry thinking how will the kids handle it, kids wouldn't cry because they didn't want me to feel bad,' she said. Madhu said that this vacation changed their perspective on loss and shared, 'We spent a week there, bonded very well, spoke what we wanted to speak, came back so refreshed we could get back to work with new energy. These things don't fade, don't go away, the hurt stays but you learn how to deal with it and it becomes easier to deal with it.'
In an earlier chat with Lehren Retro, Madhu shared that six days after her husband's death, her daughter threw her a birthday party. 'After his passing, we were grieving, but Priyanka insisted that we go ahead with the party and asked everyone to stay. She said, 'That's what dad would have wanted',' she shared and added that John Abraham showed up like a birthday present at this party. 'They had requested John to come at midnight, wrapped like a birthday present. Imagine that! Priyanka said, 'Mom has to have her moment.' It was such a fun party with a DJ and music. But the rest of the family sat there gloomily, saying, 'Look at her! She's dancing! Does she not grieve for her husband?' Meanwhile, I was thinking, 'My daughter arranged all this; my kids put in so much effort. They're all suffering and grieving, but this is how she is honouring her dad.' Priyanka even said, 'I am honouring his wish and you better fall in line with it.' That's the person she is,' she said.

Inside Vivek Oberoi's Dubai home: The ‘money-man' with the net worth of Rs 1200 crore who grows ‘kadhi patta' and collects ‘desi' art

Actor Vivek Oberoi, who started earning from his business endeavours as early as the age of 19, recently opened up his Dubai home to the fans and gave a look inside the 'home away from home' that he and his wife, Priyanka, have built. Situated in the scenic and glorious Meadows, where the prices of a house can range from Rs 11 crore all the way to Rs 50 crore. The house exudes class and panache while paying tribute to Vivek's childhood memories of growing up in Mumbai. Starting with the story behind the house, Vivek credited his wife for the entire episode and said that he is now glad that they didn't move to downtown Dubai, like he initially wanted to. 'I didn't even select the location of this house. All of this – the house, the interior, and the design – all credit goes to Priyanka; she is the boss. Both of us love paintings, but I was the one who chose all the art for the house, all 'desi' painters. The rest of it is all Priyanka. She is in love with the whole 'vintage' and 'homey' style of decor. We are also surrounded by a lot of greenery, and my wife is a 'constant' gardener,' Vivek shared with Curly Tales. He said, 'If you ask me where home is, it is still Mumbai, because even now when I go back there, I don't feel like returning to Dubai. But I love living here as well, and I think it's trying to have the best of both worlds. We have tried to recreate a lot of our memories; we are surrounded by a lot of water; we have got the gulmohar trees that I grew up around in Juhu; and we have our own organic garden with curry leaves and some vegetables once in a while.' As an entrepreneur who handles a vast portfolio containing several businesses and is worth more than Rs 1200 crore, Vivek knows the importance of a relaxing home. He mentioned how he slowly eases up as he returns to his home after a long day and how even though handling businesses can be chaotic, he is happy with the life he leads here. Vivek said, 'The move to Dubai was business orientated, and your home should be a place which is very easy on you. Being able to spend time with your kids and come back from work at a reasonable hour. I get to live the 'non-film' life here that I never had in India. We try our best to keep it simple here.' Talking about his 'film' life, Vivek was last seen in Kesari Veer, alongside Suniel Shetty and Suraj Pancholi, and has several projects currently in the pipeline.

Priyanka Chopra Sets Hearts On Fire In A Chic Black Strapless Dress

Priyanka Chopra's closet never runs dry of event-appropriate fits. We are simply happy to take notes from the actress as and when it comes. The global icon recently made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she dazzled in a sleek black dress from the shelves of luxury brand Gucci. The figure-hugging ensemble came with a strapless design that highlighted her shoulders and collarbone. The corseted bodice brought a vintage element to her OOTD. Priyanka showcased her petite frame and toned legs in the hyper-feminine midi-length dress, reaching just to her knees. The actress teamed her outfit with a pair of black pump heels. She also wore a diamond ring on her left hand. Her on-fleek makeup comprised a dewy-glam base, rosy-contoured cheeks, nude lips, smokey eyes, and well-defined brows. Black tresses left open in a straight manner amped up her look. Before that, Priyanka Chopra played the right fashion cards in a beige shift dress. The actress attended an invite-only affair hosted by Bulgari in Sicily. Picked from the shelves of luxury French brand Dior, her ensemble came with a semi-transparent overlay. The floral appliquéing work on the dress added a delicate touch to her ultra-feminine silhouette. The pastel base was decorated with gossamer-resembling tulle and the 3D floral embellishments on the bodice sparkled like stars. Embedded with tiny, multicoloured gemstones, the embellishments offered a pop of colour to the otherwise monochrome fit. The true highlight of the ankle-grazing number was the high-neck overlay, which gave an unconventional twist to the classic dress.
