IPD: Man with multiple warrants found hiding on roof of two-story home
IDER, Ala. (WHNT) — The Ider Police Department said it arrested a man who had multiple arrest warrants after he was found hiding on the roof of a home Friday.
The Ider Police Department said officers were conducting an ongoing investigation related to the theft of stolen property. During the course of the investigation, officers approached the residence of Freddie Bradford in an attempt to speak with him and take him into custody on six outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants from three separate agencies.
As officers approached the residence, IPD said Bradford fled the scene on foot. Later that evening, officers received information that Bradford had returned to the home. Additionally, Ider officers responded and surrounded the residence.
During a search of the property, officers watched as Bradford hid on the roof of the two-story home. He attempted to flee by jumping from the roof but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody without further incident.
During the arrest, officers seized a variety of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia from the residence.
'It's probably not the best idea to mix drugs, eluding the police, and jumping off buildings into your weekend routine. If you're going to act dumb, you better be tough,' Ider Chief Malone said.

Back in 2008, Chris' parents purchased two burial plots at the cemetery. In 2012, he allegedly requested they "release their two plots to allow for the family to have a total of six burial plots in the same area," and he went on to secure "four additional burial plots," the legal document claims. When Chris' mother died in July 2021, she was buried in one of the purchased plots a month later. Then, in September, the complaint claims Chris "entered into a contract" to get a headstone, but the legal document alleges that one "bearing [his] mother's name was ultimately placed on the wrong burial site." Per the lawsuit, Chris and his family "were unaware of this misplacement and continued visiting the incorrect site." When Chris' dad died earlier this year in April, the complaint claims the man and his family made arrangements for their late father to be buried in the adjacent plot next to where they believed their mother to be. However, during the service for his father, the legal document claims that Chris was informed "that while [his] mother was correctly buried in her designated plot, the headstone bearing her name had been placed on a different gravesite." Chris, the complaint claims, "was shocked, devastated and overwhelmed upon learning that the family had been grieving and visiting the wrong site for [his] mother for approximately 4 years." Per the legal document, Forest Lawn Memorial Park "promised that the issue would be corrected," and the cemetery subsequently "removed the incorrectly placed headstone and placed it on the correct site." The ordeal caused Chris "significant emotional distress, including shock, grief and ongoing mental anguish from having grieved and visited the wrong site for [his] mother," according to the complaint. It added that he also "suffered economic losses, emotional distress and other damages as a direct result" of the alleged mix-up. The legal document further accuses the Forest Lawn Memorial Park of being "reckless, negligent and in breach of its contractual obligations to [Chris], including its duty to properly place and maintain the headstone." Speaking with NBC Los Angeles, Chris' sister, Marine Demirchyan, said the ordeal has left her deeply upset. 'When she passed, I thought, 'At least, we have given her a peaceful, respectful place to rest.' But seeing her memorial tablet placed on the wrong grave, it felt like losing her all over again,' she told the outlet. "We were just talking to an empty spot.' 'She was caring. She was loving," Chris added of his mother, also asking NBC Los Angeles: "How could this happen?" In a statement shared with PEOPLE, Chris' attorney, Rosie Zilifyan, said: "Forest Lawn's failure to fulfill its most basic responsibilities—ensuring that a loved one's grave is properly marked — was not just negligent; it was callous. Our lawsuit seeks to hold Forest Lawn fully accountable for its reckless mishandling and to ensure no other family is forced to endure a similar ordeal." Motorcyclist dead in high speed crash on Interstate 96 in Detroit, police say
A 30-year-old man is dead after a motorcycle crash on Interstate 96 in Detroit Friday night. Michigan State police say multiple people called 911 around 9:25 p.m. to report a motorcycle that was down on the westbound side of I-96 near Evergreen Road, and that the driver, later identified as the man, was missing. A helicopter crew operating Trooper 2 in the area saw that the man was motionless on the eastbound side of the highway. Responding troopers on the ground located the motorcycle and the man, who died at the scene, officials say. According to investigators, the man was driving westbound on the highway near Evergreen Road at a high speed when he lost control of the motorcycle and hit a concrete wall. The man was then ejected from the bike and landed in the eastbound lanes of I-96. No one else was involved in the crash, police say.

Manhunt for Travis Decker reaches day 8 with heavy law enforcement presence in the North Cascades
Saturday marks day eight in the search for Travis Decker. He is the Wenatchee man accused of kidnapping and killing his three young daughters. Authorities are focusing in on the Cascade Mountains. The Enchantments are shut down until further notice. As of Saturday afternoon, the National Guard is also joining the crews after emergency funding put in place by Governor Bob Ferguson. The search command center off Icicle Road is crawling with activity into the weekend as hundreds of law enforcement officers head into the mountains. Saturday morning was especially active as helicopters brought in dozens of crews from the Cascades and switched them out with new crews ready to get to work. Erik Hampton with East Cascade SWAT tells us they are heavily resourced and have the best of the best out there, but the steep terrain is not easy to search through. 'It's very steep it's very thick and it's big country there's a lot of it. There's a lot of ways in and out,' Hampton said. Icicle Road out of Leavenworth leads to dozens of trails and campgrounds. Normally on a hot June weekend, it's full of backpackers, hikers, and campers. Today, it's empty as the area is still shut down due to the search. 'We are hoping to exhaust this area for any sign of him we are not going to leave any stone unturned,' Hampton said. 'We are doing operations into the night, we have done them since Monday the same thing so we are working hard.' Federal, state, and local resources are flooding the Enchantments actively searching for Travis Decker. Right now, those resources include helicopters from Spokane, Chelan, and King County Sheriff's Offices along with the Coast Guard, National Guard, and Border Patrol. Deputies say there is also law enforcement officers and special teams from local, state, and federal resources combing every inch of the mountains. Hampton tells us they are also using special equipment to detect body heat levels as well. About 100 years away from the command center is Leavenworth Outdoor Center. The owner, David Johnson, said they have been listening to the helicopters fly just feet above their building since Tuesday. He tells us even the tourists know who Travis Decker is. 'Everyone seems to be bringing it up now, the first couple of days it was shocking and people weren't talking about it, but now it's all-over social media and customers are asking about it when they get here,' Johnson said. He tells us this is normally a packed area, but with the closure not that far down Icicle, it's been a bit slower. On Saturday, the closure turnaround spot was full of people who say they came out to hike but didn't realize they couldn't go back there. 'Well it is really disappointing I was really excited for this,' said Mayra Salgadl, a hiker trying to get to Colchuck Lake. Hampton said anyone they found inside the Okenagon Forest was asked to leave immediately. 'There were quite a few people when we started, I don't have an exact count for you on that, but it's blank in there right now,' Hampton said. He tells us that area takes a special expertise to look through properly. 'It's very steep, it's very thick and it's big country there's a lot of it. There's a lot of ways in and out,' Hampton said. But for those who live inside the search bubble, police are urging you to just call 911 if you think you see Decker. 'No do not approach, he is dangerous, he is a dangerous person,' Hampton said.
