A DHS Official Tried To Pick A Fight With Kim Kardashian After She Spoke Out Against ICE
One Department of Homeland Security official seems to think she can throw down with a woman raised by Kris Jenner. On Wednesday, Tricia McLaughlin, the DHS assistant secretary for public affairs, decided to pick a fight with Kim Kardashian after the reality TV star simply exercised her freedom of speech. Amid the ongoing anti-deportation protests in Los Angeles that were sparked by a rash of terrifying U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids, Kardashian made it clear on her Instagram story Tuesday that her values align with the demonstrators. 'When we're told that ICE exists to keep our country safe and remove violent criminals — great,' Kardashian began her statement. 'When we witness innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak up. We have to do what's right.' She continued, 'Growing up in LA, I've seen how deeply immigrants are woven into the fabric of this city. They are our neighbors, friends, classmates, coworkers, and family.' 'No matter where you fall politically, it's clear that our communities thrive because of the contributions of immigrants,' she wrote. The beauty mogul concluded, 'We can't turn a blind eye when fear and injustice keep people from living their lives freely and safely. There HAS to be a BETTER way.' '.@KimKardashian, which one of these convicted child molesters, murderers, drug traffickers and rapists would you like to stay in the county? These are just a few of the convicted illegal criminals who have been picked up in the last 72 hours,' McLaughlin wrote on X, alongside images of a few men who have been detained by ICE in Los Angeles, per some very colorfully worded DHS press releases that include quotes from McLaughlin. Although McLaughlin didn't like Kardashian's statement, plenty of social media users did. In 2018, she met with President Donald Trump during his first term to advocate for prison reform, and later claimed she helped soften his stance on crime (which, apparently, did not work). In 2023, the president's eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, was pictured at Kardashian's birthday party, upsetting many of Kardashian's fans. The American Horror Story alum also seemed celebratory on Trump's inauguration day in January, posting a caption-less photo of first lady Melania Trump's outfit to her Instagram story that same day. Kim Kardashian says immigrants in LA suffering 'fear and injustice' thanks to Trump immigration plan
Despite working with President Donald Trump on issues in the past, Kim Kardashian indicated on Friday she does not support his administration's immigration policy. In a recent Instagram post, the reality TV star condemned operations conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), calling them "inhumane." "When we're told that ICE exists to keep our country safe and remove violent criminals — great. But when we witness innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak up. We have to do what's right," she stated in an Instagram story Friday. Trump Admin Asks Scotus To Authorize Rapid Migrant Deportations To Countries Other Than Their Own The Los Angeles native shared the post as her hometown continues to be shaken by violent anti-ICE riots that started last week in response to the federal law enforcement agency detaining illegal immigrants. DHS said ICE raids in L.A. over the weekend resulted in "hundreds of illegal aliens [being] arrested by ICE officers and agents," including "many with a criminal history and criminal convictions." Read On The Fox News App Protests and clashes outside multiple locations in downtown L.A. have grown so chaotic that Trump ordered National Guard troops into the city, followed by several hundred U.S. Marines, to restore order. Some California officials, including Gov. Gavin Newsom, have accused the administration of exacerbating the situation. "Trump is using military forces to stop a protest, and I want y'all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us." Despite Kardashian's harsh stance on Trump's immigration agenda, she has had a constructive relationship with him in the past. In 2019, she appeared at the White House alongside Trump to promote his criminal justice reform policies, calling them "magic." By that point, Kardashian had been at the White House several times to discuss criminal justice reform issues and successfully lobbied President Trump to pardon Alice Marie Johnson, who was serving life without parole for drug offenses. Ex-Webb City school worker makes court appearance for alleged child enticement
JOPLIN, Mo. — A former Webb City School Employee accused of seeking out a teenage girl for sex makes his first appearance in court. Logan Duncan, 25, appeared before Judge Nicole Carlton this morning in a Jasper County courtroom on one count of enticement of a child. Duncan waived his formal arraignment and pleaded not guilty. He was arrested May 2 after a sting operation by the online vigilante group, Bikers Against Predators. The group told investigators Duncan reached out to them through the Grindr app, communicating with what he thought was a 13-year-old girl. Members say Duncan sent nude pictures to the account and even spoke on the phone with one of the female members of their team. Sting with alleged predator leads to arrest of Webb City school employee They say he then arranged to meet with the decoy outside Webb City Junior High School. The school district placed Duncan on administrative leave the same day of the confrontation and later fired him. He has since been fired from his position as a custodian. Duncan is free on a $150,000 bond. 'We knew the severity of this case, that he is working in the schools and he is a part of the school system, that this video needed to be out,' said 'Boots', Bikers Against Predators president. 'Boots', the alias he goes by, runs the non-profit organization Bikers Against Predators, which helps take down suspected online child predators. Through popular apps, like Snapchat, Instagram, and dating apps like Grindr, the group sets up decoy profiles with the location and waits for individuals to contact them. 'We had an individual reach out to one of our accounts, and we told them that we were 13 years old, and he continued that conversation, wanting a phone call with her to see if she was real,' said 'Boots'. That led to a meet up with Logan Duncan, 25, who Boots says wanted to meet at his job, the Webb City Junior High. 'At that time, we got to the school, we waited. We had our live decoy go out, stand outside the school. He came outside from the school and met with her in person,' said 'Boots'. Also in the video, Duncan acknowledges he knew he was chatting with a 13-year-old. 'Making them feel comfortable and making them feel that, you know, this is not that serious. And downplaying it sometimes gets them to open up where I think these guys feel it's their last resort,' said 'Boots'. While they disagree with the moniker of vigilante, the team does employ some of the same techniques as law enforcement. Duncan is free on a $150,000 bond. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
