Ubisoft
It's not even 4PM here in Canada and Assassin's Creed Shadows has already passed 1 million players!Thank YOU from the bottom of our hearts for joining this adventure in Feudal Japan. We are beyond excited to start this journey with you! 💝 pic.twitter.com/1cqwABrQfN
— Assassin's Creed (@assassinscreed) March 20, 2025

Razer just perfected my dream gaming headset — sorry everyone, no other brand comes close
I love video games. Rarely does a day go by that I don't play a PS5 or Nintendo Switch game for at least an hour. My favorite genre to play is RPG because I love acting out a fictional character's actions within a narrative. I adore the storytelling aspect of a game like Baldur's Gate 3, and I instantly fall in love with a phenomenal soundtrack in a game like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. If you're anything like me, you'll know the importance of using one of the best gaming headsets to ensure you're hearing a game the way its developers intended. I test a lot of gaming cans for a living, and while there have been great ones from SteelSeries and Asus, I've never looked at one and gone, "That's the one, that's my dream headset." This was true until I tested the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro — and fell head over heels for it. Designed for professional gamers, the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro boasts fantastic sound with spatial audio support that gives you a competitive edge. It's extremely comfortable, features highly effective ANC, and comes with a detachable mic that makes you sound loud and clear. No compromises have been made, and you're getting your money's worth. Where do I even begin with why the BlackShark V3 Pro is the headset of my dreams? Should I tell you how comfortable it is, or how user-friendly its companion software and mobile app are? Or should I wax lyrical about its sound quality, as it wouldn't be out of line for me to say that you haven't experienced true gaming until you've tried this set of cans? Allow me to demonstrate why the BlackShark V3 Pro upstages every other gaming headset I've tested so far. Pardon the pun, I couldn't resist it. The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro is perhaps the most comfortable gaming headset I've tested so far. Having tested many, I've concluded that memory foam earcups are far better than leather ones — in my personal opinion, at least. The BlackShark V3 Pro's memory foam earcups are not just spacious but breathable too, which means I don't have to worry about sweat pooling or my ears overheating. The pressure-relieving headband also ensures there is, well, no pressure on the top of your head, so you can wear it for hours and hours without worrying about any discomfort. I thoroughly appreciate and adore the headset's design, which is clearly inspired by the aviation-style headsets worn by pilots, as the earcups are connected via hinges to a padded headband. Simply slide the earcups down the metal hinges to adjust the headset. The hinges lend the BlackShark V3 Pro a premium edge, too. As someone who listens to music almost throughout the day, I can't live without active noise cancellation (ANC), and it's one of the features I value most in non-gaming earbuds and headphones. I didn't realize I needed ANC in gaming headsets too until I tested the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro — and now I want all gaming cans to have it. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. The BlackShark V3 Pro utilizes four mics to negate ambient noise, and I highly recommend enabling it if you want a truly immersive gaming experience. I ended up feeling like I was at the movie theater, especially when playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Cyberpunk 2077, both of which have fantastic soundtracks (the former features orchestral power ballads while the latter's music is high-tempo techno). With ANC enabled, the BlackShark V3 Pro completely isolates you, so you feel like the main character in the game — which also gives you a competitive edge, and that's what the headset is designed to do. It boasts phenomenal, detailed sound quality to match, so much so that I discovered new sounds in Expedition 33. I've already spent 100 hours playing it, so discovering the subtle difference in the sound of my character walking on grass versus on petals was very exciting. As I've noted in my Razer BlackShark V3 Pro review, it's a premium headset that costs a premium. It retails for $249 / £249, so it might not be everyone's bag, but as I say when I review a Leica camera, if you can afford it, why wouldn't you buy it? I'd buy the BlackShark V3 Pro in a heartbeat for every gamer in my life. Five-star ratings at Tom's Guide are rare, and it isn't often that I review a near-perfect product. The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 got a full rating from me because it offers great value for money, just like the BlackShark V3 Pro — and giving the latter less than a 100% rating would have been unfair because it nails every aspect. The design, comfort, sound quality, a plethora of customization options, and long battery life help it stand out in a crowded market. It has set a high bar, and it's going to be tough for any gaming headset I test in the future to upstage the BlackShark V3 Pro.

Battlefield 6's beta doesn't start for another 2 days, but fans clearly don't mind the wait as the FPS has already hit a peak of almost 10,000 concurrent players on Steam

Battlefield 6's beta might not kick off for another couple of days, but that's not stopping thousands of fans from flooding to it early, wistfully staring at its menu with no actual way to play. For those who've earned early access to Battlefield 6's beta (by signing up before July 31 or watching partnered Twitch streamers during last week's multiplayer reveal), the fun kicks off on August 7 until August 8. For everyone else, there are two open beta weekends running between August 9-10, and August 14-17. Either way, it's still not time to dive in just yet, but try telling that to the 6,000 people sitting in its menu on Steam right now. Following Battlefield 6's beta pre-load going live on all platforms yesterday, the game has hit a peak of 9,463 concurrent "players" on Steam (players being a rather strong word, as it stands) according to SteamDB. That doesn't account for those on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, either. Prospective players can already tweak their settings to their liking before the beta actually becomes playable, so it's not that there's absolutely nothing to be doing right now. To maintain thousands of concurrent users so steadily for hours on end, though? There are definitely a lot of people simply hyping themselves up in the menu. All things considered, Battlefield 6 seems to be in a good position to bring in plenty of actual players when its beta actually goes live. DICE previously stated that it'll include "the most content we've ever dropped in an open beta in Battlefield history," so it should keep us busy. Battlefield 6 dev says the magic words: Bad Company 2 is a "huge inspiration" for the upcoming FPS, and my excitement for the beta is now at an all-time high.

Battlefield 6's beta has only been running for a day, but it's already suffering from a FPS curse with cheaters breaking out the wallhacks
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Shocking absolutely no one, Battlefield 6 already has players cheating during the beta period because FPS players may never know peace. We're in the first wave of Battlefield 6 beta times, and it's already the most popular Battlefield ever on Steam, so it's no wonder a former Blizzard boss thinks Battlefield 6 will "boot stomp" Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. However, being an FPS game comes with the usual quirks – namely, it's the genre that feels the most susceptible to cheaters. Most cheaters wait until the full game is out so they can take advantage, but the Battlefield 6 beta ones are already on top of it, as wallhacks have already emerged. As reported by Insider Gaming, cheaters have already bypassed EA's Javelin Anti-cheat system and are deploying wallhacks in the game. Various clips have surfaced of players running rampant with the clear visual of their enemies' whereabouts at all times, with one user using clips of it to throw shade at the Call of Duty account to try and convince them to avoid using Kernel-level anti-cheat. Of course, the real question is, why? Using cheats like this is pretty lame anyway, because why would you play a game to not actually play it, but to do it on a beta where there's no actual progression because it'll be wiped in a week's time... And by using these cheats on the beta, you just give Battlefield Studios a better chance of identifying and addressing them before the game comes, which I suppose could be somewhat of a win. You might want to turn off the Battlefield 6 crossplay for the time being if you're on console, though. Battlefield 6 multiplayer is faster than ever, and while I'm having fun being a speedy soldier, it's playing against the shooter's most iconic feature.
