Doctor Who star dies as co-stars pay tearful tributes to 'witty' actress
Actress Pik-Sen Lim has died aged 80.
Pik-Sen rose to fame as Chung Su-Lee in 1970s comedy Mind Your Language but was best known for her appearance in Doctor Who serial The Mind of Evil.
Sharing his heartbreak over her death, actor Daniel York Loh paid tribute on Instagram and wrote: "An iconic figure in so many ways, I'd seen her on TV in Mind Your Language amongst other things when I was a kid.'
"She was so affectionate, so witty, so brilliantly scabrous and absolutely honest about the rubbish this industry deals actors of our heritage - unlike a fair few others who actually try and cape it.
"We'll miss you so much but thank you, Pixi, for blessing our lives with your unique presence."
Pik-Sen was born in British Malaya, moving to Britain at 16 to pursue a career in acting. She had been the daughter of the palm oil millionaire Lim Cheng-Teik and was nicknamed 'Pixie' at the convent school she attended in Penang.

During a discussion on the ITV show on Wednesday morning, the showbiz correspondent said he was suffering from a painful issue with his foot. Richard was talking about Sir Rod Stewart's running plans with hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid when talk turned to Rod's wish to be a sprinting world record holder. Richard then revealed he was suffering from his own health issues, writes The Mirror. The 55 year old said that he has plantar fasciitis, which is a condition that causes pain on the bottom of your foot, the heel and the arch, with many people suffering from the injury. The GMB team were talking about Sir Rod Stewart 's plans to beat a 100m world record. The Maggie May rocker has a running track in his garden and has been practicing every day in a bid to beat the previous time set. Rod said previously: "I've got it down to 19 seconds by learning how to push off. Now I'm going for 17 seconds, which I think would be a world record for someone my age." He added: "I keep myself very fit. I played soccer all my life don't play much anymore after a knee replacement but I've had the same trainer for 38 years. I've got a huge gym, an indoor pool, a golf course you name it." Rod's inspiration is Frank Sinatra. He shared: "He told me the secret to being a great singer is having powerful lungs. So do lots of underwater swimming and hold your breath." Earlier this week, the singer revealed that he has one request for the crowd coming to see him at Glastonbury. The 80-year-old icon takes the stage for the legend slot at the festival later this month. Hoops superfan Rod wants to see a wave of green and white when he belts out his biggest hits from the iconic Pyramid Stage and is asking his fans to wear Celtic FC shirts to help him achieve the dream. Rod appeared on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 this week and revealed his hope for the much anticipated performance on Sunday, June 29. Throughout the years, various different artists have performed during the legend slot, such as Shania Twain, Diana Ross, Tom Jones and Lionel Richie. And Glastonbury fans have a history of showing up dressed as the artist they are there to see. Zoe asked Sir Rod if he was expecting to see members of the crowd show up wearing his signature leopard print style, or even donning wigs in tribute to his much loved spiky, tousled look barnet. Rod joked with Zoe as he said: "My fans usually wear Celtic shirts now. "They're all in Las Vegas in the front row with their Celtic shirts - most of them don't know what the goalkeeper's name is, but their intention is good." "I do hope there are a few Celtic flags up at Glastonbury," he continued. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Brooklyn Beckham confirms 'where his home is' in more heartbreak for Victoria
Victoria and David Beckham's eldest son Brooklyn has purchased a £10.5 million home in LA with his wife Nicola Peltz amid burning rumours of a family feud Brooklyn Beckham has confirmed that LA is his 'real home' after purchasing a £10.5 million property with his wife Nicola Peltz. The eldest son of David and Victoria has been pulling away from his family for a number of months now, but the shock property purchase has reportedly left his mum Victoria, 51, heartbroken. In recent months, rumours of a family feud have surrounded Brooklyn, 26, and his parents and siblings. The feud has now reportedly worsened after Brooklyn decided that LA will be his home for the foreseeable future after buying the lavish new home with his wife Nicola, 30. The apparent feud seems to be ongoing as Brooklyn seemingly snubbed his dad David's huge achievement of earning a knighthood on the King's Birthday Honours List last weekend on his social media pages, as well as failing to publicly celebrate him on Father's Day. He was also nowhere to be seen for David's 50th birthday celebrations. Brooklyn remained silent while his dad's dreams of a knighthood finally came true. Brooklyn's behaviour has reportedly rubbed his mum Victoria up the wrong way and she has been left 'furious' by his actions - or lack thereof. Then came the news that Brooklyn and Nicola have bought their new Hollywood home with hopes of spending their future in the US - further fuelling speculation that there is trouble brewing with the Beckham clan. However, a source has told The Mirror that Brooklyn has always considered LA his home after spending several years there when he was a child. The insider says that the property purchase is not about 'family dynamics' and is simply down to Brooklyn's love and fondness for LA. "This house has nothing to do with family dynamics. Both Nicola and Brooklyn's careers are based in Los Angeles, and Brooklyn spent part of his childhood there while his father played for LA Galaxy. During that time, he attended school in LA for several years and built a life and friendships in the city. LA has always felt like home to him," the source said. Speaking about the five-bedroom, six-bathroom property, a source claimed to The Sun that Brooklyn feels like his life is now in America. 'As an influencer he can work from anywhere but Brooklyn believes he has more opportunities in LA. It will be a dagger to the heart for his parents," the source said. According to the insider, there were hopes his life in America wouldn't be "permanent", but "this house purchase quashes any last hopes." It comes after Brooklyn remained silent while his dad's dreams of a knighthood finally came true. Brooklyn's behaviour has reportedly rubbed his mum Victoria up the wrong way and she has been left 'furious' by his actions - or lack thereof. "The whole family is devastated by the current situation. The tension had been there for a while but no-one thought in a million years that it would turn this toxic," it was said. "Victoria can't fathom why Brooklyn hasn't been in touch to apologise. She's furious with him, but also heartbroken," an insider recently claimed to Heat Magazine.
