YouTube star who rescued foxes tragically dies by suicide aged 29
YouTube star Mikayla Raines, who was the founder of animal rescue organisation Save A Fox, has died by suicide aged 29. The online personality's husband confirmed the tragic news that she took her on life on Monday and hit out at trolls who bullied her online.
Mikayla, who had over 500,000 followers on Instagram, focused her life on wildlife rescue. Her YouTube page has over 2.4million subscribers. The mother-of-one started Save A Fox nonprofit to save and rehabilitate foxes and other exotic animals. She started working with animals when she was 15 years old.
Her husband Ethan shared the heartbreaking news on social media in an 11-minute video. He said: "They spread false rumors, and being the sensitive person she was, it deeply affected her. She tried for years to push through the pain, but this time it was too much."
Ethan hit out at people's "rude words, accusations and name-calling", claiming "all of this stems from jealousy and envy." He went on to say his wife was suffering from severe mental health challenges, including depression, autism and borderline personality disorder.
Mikayla also went through many years of therapy. "As many of you know she was on the autism spectrum and while that made her life very difficult it allowed her to hyperfocus on one thing and that one thing was obviously animals," Ethan continued.
"From a young age she dedicated every waking hour of her life to helping them, whether it was helping a snapping turtle cross the road or saving 500 foxes from a terrible fur farm. She was never in it for fame money or personal gain.
"She was truly one of the most selfless people I have ever known." He said her sudden death was a "loss that is unimaginable" before saying: "Mikayla was truly the most amazing and inspiring individual I have ever known, and not having her here makes everything feel empty. I feel broken."

Real reason Stephanie Davis split from boyfriend just months after giving birth Stephanie Davis and Joe McKalroy split just four months after the birth of their son, Samuel, as friends say the Hollyoaks actress felt her boyfriend wasn't 'pulling his weight' in the relationship Stephanie Davis splits with boyfriend before Father's Day as she endure more heartache (Image: @stephaniedavis88/Instagram ) Former Hollyoaks star, Stephanie Davis, has revealed the heartbreaking reason behind her recent split from boyfriend Joe McKalroy, just months after welcoming their newborn son. Stephanie shocked fans over the weekend when she confirmed the end of their relationship, a partnership she once described as finding "The One." Only four months after the birth of their son, Samuel, the couple's seemingly picture-perfect romance came to an unexpected halt. Their social media feeds had painted a picture of a loving, united family, but behind closed doors, it is reported that tensions were brewing. Insiders suggest that Stephanie grew increasingly frustrated as she felt Joe wasn't sharing the responsibilities of family life equally, causing ongoing disagreements. Despite Joe's devoted role as a stepfather to Stephanie's eldest son, Caben, the pressure and strain proved too much to overcome. The couple recently became proud parents to son Samuel (Image: @stephaniedavis88/Instagram ) "Joe has already moved out of the home he was sharing with Steph," an insider revealed. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter Speaking to the Sun, they added: "It came after weeks of arguments between the couple and it all got too much. Article continues below "In essence, there was a lot of tension as Steph felt like Joe wasn't actually ready to be a dad and wasn't pulling his weight. It's really sad, especially with a new baby, but Steph is just focusing on her boys now.", reports the Mirror. On Sunday, Stephanie took to her Instagram to share the news that she and Joe had decided to part ways. The soap actress felt compelled to confront the rumours swirling around her relationship after not mentioning Joe in a Father's Day tribute. She shared: "Never in a million years did I think I'd be writing this. I've been left with no choice but to address the rumours. "This has come as a complete shock and has been an incredibly painful and unexpected time. Just four months after having a baby - one of the most vulnerable and emotional times in a woman's life - I've found myself facing this chapter on my own." Stephanie hinted towards her difficult history with Jeremy McConnell, father to her seven year old son. She said: "After everything I've been through in the past, I truly believed I'd finally found my happiness - something secure and lasting. But that, heartbreakingly, hasn't been the case." Fans were devastated to hear about the shocking split (Image: @stephaniedavis88/Instagram ) In her statement, Stephanie expressed gratitude for the good times because they led to her son Samuel: "I'm grateful for the years we had because without us I wouldn't have my Samuel. Who will always be my priority." She wrapped up by saying: "Right now, I'm focusing on healing, protecting my peace, and doing the best I can - being there for my two beautiful boys. Thank you to those who've reached out - your kindness has meant more than I can say. Stephanie X." Notably, on Father's Day, Stephanie chose to post only about her father and her journey with Samuel, omitting any reference to Joe, with whom she has recently split. Influencer dies after clinging onto inside of active volcano for four days
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A Brazillian influencer has died after falling while hiking near the crater of an active volcano in Indonesia. Juliana Marins, 26, slipped and fell from a hiking trail around Mount Rinjani, Lombok, around 6.30am local time on Saturday. The publicist and pole dancer rolled 984ft down a slope before clinging to a rocky ravine next to the crater. Drone footage showed Juliana, from Rio de Janeiro, sitting and crawling across the volcanic trail. Yet rescue teams could not find Juliana the next day, as she had fallen further down into what rescuers said was a 'deep gorge with loose rocks'. She was found motionless roughly 1,600ft down the volcano on Monday, with search and rescue establishing a dedicated tent. Her family confirmed in an Instagram post this afternoon: 'The rescue team managed to reach the place where Juliana Marins was. With great sadness, we inform you that she did not survive. 'We remain very grateful for all the prayers, messages of affection and support we have received.' Juliana had been backpacking through Southeast Asia since February, sharing images from Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines on her Instagram. Her final post from Indonesia on June 11 was captioned: 'Never try, never fly.' Juliana's sister, Marianna, earlier told the Brazilian TV station Fantástico that Juliana had been hiking with a group of six tourists and two guides when she asked to stop and rest. But the group went on without her, Marianna claimed, adding: 'She didn't know where to go. 'She didn't know what to do. When the guide came back because he saw that she was taking too long, he saw that she had fallen down there.' Two members of the hiking group said in an interview with Brazilian TV network Globo that the climb was 'really hard' and it was 'so cold'. A rescue team was dispatched after receiving a call at 2.32pm on Saturday, with rescuers hampered by thick fog and cold temperatures. Her family grew increasingly worried about Juliana, writing on Instagram that she had gone three days without food or water. They said earlier today: 'Keep Juliana in your thoughts, send the best energies, so that she gets stronger and stands firm.' Mount Rinjani is Indonesia's second-tallest volcano and a popular hiking spot with tourists, towering at 12,000ft.
