BOHEMIAN'S CHARGE UP the Premier Division table continued by cruising to a comfortable victory away to Cork City.
First-half goals from Archie Meekison and Dayle Rooney saw the Gypsies move above Drogheda United into second. They remain six points adrift of Shamrock Rovers.
Dunfermline United manager Neil Lennon and Chesterfield chief Paul Cook watched on among the 3,215 crowd at Turner's Cross. The home supporters weren't happy as they greeted the full-time whistle with a chorus of boos.
The hosts looked like they were still on a mid-season break as their winless run extended to eight games. They remain one point above bottom side Sligo Rovers, who have a game in hand.
Ger Nash broke new ground as, for the first time this season, City named an unchanged side. There were changes on the bench, though.
After 17 years in England, David Meyler had his homecoming as Nash's new assistant manager. Meanwhile, club stalwart Mark McNulty slotted in as goalkeeping coach.
Alan Reynolds opted for one change as Leigh Kavanagh replaced Rob Cornwall in defence.

The Bohs boss felt his side had, 'something to prove against Cork,' after their late defeat at the Cross in February. They accomplished that mission by stretching their good form to eight wins in 10 games.
Departing Crystal Palace loanee Seán Grehan and Kavanagh were dominant at the back. Kavanagh's diagonal ball created the first chance for Meekison. The Scottish winger had all the time in the world to pick his spot, but fluffed his shot off target.
When the chance came again, he showed bundles more composure.
The opportunity arrived in the 11th minute from Rooney's long clearance. Darragh Crowley's heavy touch presented Meekison with a clear run from halfway. He went around Tein Troost twice on his mazy run before rolling home his first goal of the season.
With City's hopes of a first clean sheet of 2025 extinguished, the one-way traffic continued.
Kavanagh's outside-of-the-boot flick from a corner forced Troost into an acrobatic save. Then, Rooney's wonderful chip floated just wide.
City only had one shot in the first half. They should have scored it, too. Josh Fitzpatrick's cross found its way to Cathal O'Sullivan, but the Premier League-linked teenager headed wide.
Bohs carved City open twice down the left in the closing stages. From the first of those, Adam McDonnell's shot was blocked away by Freddie Anderson as Bohs protested for handball.
They made the next one count. McDonnell turned Anderson, Ross Tierney's shot ran across goal, and Rooney was left with the simplest of tap-ins for his third goal in four games.
It could've been three before the break, but McDonnell curled around the post.
Troost produced another super save on the resumption. Rooney gave the return ball to Tierney, who looked certain to score, until the keeper reached back across to save.
Tierney had another chance moments later, which Anderson slid across to block.
City had a couple of penalty appeals waved away. Seani Maguire tumbled over in the box, but Paul Norton gave the free-kick to Kavanagh. Then, Jordan Flores came through the back of O'Sullivan and was lucky to escape without any punishment.
Half-time substitute Kitt Nelson and O'Sullivan flashed shots over the bar as City tried to build momentum. Maguire had the next opening, but Flores deflected his shot behind.
City produced precious little in the final 20 minutes as Dawson Devoy came closest to adding a third, denied by Troost.

They say good things come to those who wait. But for Eberechi Eze, it has taken 14 years for his dream to come true. The England forward made a dramatic entrance during Crystal Palace's open training session on Wednesday before their Conference League playoff when he was last to emerge from the changing room with frenzied anticipation that his expected move to Tottenham was close to being agreed. Even if he had been aware of Arsenal's intention to step up their longstanding interest in him, Eze was certainly giving nothing away when he signed autographs and spoke to supporters on his way out of Palace's training ground in Beckenham. It was later on Wednesday afternoon that the Palace chair, Steve Parish, received a call from Arsenal's executive vice-chair, Tim Lewis, indicating they were finally ready to act. The full severity of the knee injury suffered by Kai Havertz during his substitute appearance against Manchester United on Sunday is unknown, although the German forward is expected to be sidelined for the immediate future. With Arsenal facing four of last season's top seven in successive Premier League matches after they entertain Leeds on Saturday, Mikel Arteta felt he was short of numbers in attack. It is understood Parish had reluctantly agreed a fee with Spurs that effectively matched Eze's expired release clause of £67.5m (€78m), albeit with them paying less than the £60m they had asked for up front and with more bonuses included. Arsenal were well aware Palace wanted immediate funds for a replacement and were ready with an offer that satisfied both sides. Their trump card, however, was Eze. He has made no secret of his continued affiliations to the club that released him from their academy at the age of 13, even if the scars of rejection took a long time to heal. 'It's one of the hardest battles I've had,' he told the BBC before the FA Cup final in May. 'Because of what Arsenal meant to me at the time, I had tears rolling down my face.' He was also rejected by Fulham, Reading and Millwall before finally convincing Queens Park Rangers to give him a chance in 2016 as he was preparing to enrol in a local college and start working part-time at Tesco. Their faith was rewarded by Eze's breakthrough into the first team under the watchful eye of Chris Ramsey and Les Ferdinand, the former Tottenham striker who was QPR's director of football when Palace paid £19.5m to sign him in August 2020 and inserted a 15% sell-on clause on any profit. That will ensure QPR receive around £6m from the move to Arsenal. 'Sometimes, as a player, you can think, 'has my chance gone?' But he's shown great strength of character and his ability has shone through,' said Ferdinand when Eze was called up by England for Euro 2024. 'A lot of the best players have been rejected somewhere and it just pushes you on to achieve more.' It took Eze three months to score his first goal for Palace – a brilliant free-kick against Leeds at an empty Selhurst Park – because of Covid restrictions – in November 2020 – before missing most of the next season with an achilles injury that also scuppered his hopes of a first England call-up. But he has flourished since returning, scoring 29 times in the Premier League over the past three seasons and underlining his status as a Palace legend with the winning goal against Manchester City at Wembley as the club lifted their first major trophy. It seems fitting Eze chose a replica of the shirt Ian Wright and co wore in the 1990 FA Cup final for the parade a few days later, which had been donated by a fan. Wright, who joined Arsenal from Palace in September 1991 for £2.5m, was 27 at the time and proved he was more than capable of making the step up. Eze, born and raised in Greenwich – just up the road from Arsenal's original home in Woolwich – will follow Kenny Sansom, Paul Davis and David Rocastle as south Londoners who crossed the river. Eze will always have a special place in the hearts of Palace fans who will not begrudge him this deserved opportunity. As those who have followed the club for generations will testify after waving goodbye to Wright, Andy Johnson and Michael Olise over the years, it is best not to get too attached to your heroes. Harry Maguire says it would be "silly" to leave rebuilding Manchester United right now after revealing Ruben Amorim's side shut down summer interest in him. The 32-year-old centre-back arrived from Leicester in an £80million deal in 2019, signing a six-year contract with an option for a further season. United triggered that clause at the turn of the year and have rebuffed summer interest in the England international, who has yet to speak to the club about his future beyond this campaign. "Last year the clause was in their hands so there was no option for me there," Maguire said. "There was no talking. It was just they activated it and it got extended. "This year, obviously I'm up at the end of the year. I'm pretty sure the club have made it aware this summer that I can't leave the club on any terms with other clubs enquiring about my things and my position with my contract. "I'm sure over the next few months they'll sit down, and we'll have to have a conversation about where we want to go and if they want to extend or obviously the transfer window will open again in January. "Obviously I have something in my mind about what I want to do and what I want to be. "I don't want to put it out there to everybody but it's an amazing club to play for and you'd be silly if you wanted to jump out of it as soon as you could." Asked whether United indicated this summer he was staying despite interest, Maguire added: "Yes. I think there was a couple of clubs who maybe enquired or spoke with them and I think they got a quick response. "We're in a good place, positive as a club and I feel like the hierarchy has come in and Jason (Wilcox, director of football) and the manager, I feel like they're taking it in the right direction. "I think it's, since I started six years ago to where it is now, in a completely different place in terms of the structure behind the management staff." Maguire says United are in "a lot better" place, with recent improvements clear in the performance, albeit not the result, against Arsenal in Sunday's Premier League opener. Riccardo Calafiori's early header inflicted a 1-0 defeat, but new signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo impressed in an attack that saw fellow acquisition Benjamin Sesko added in the second half. "I think last year we just weren't as big a threat going forward as we should have been for this club," Maguire said at Manchester United Foundation's multi-sports holiday camp at Stretford Sports Village. "This club demands players who create chances, score goals and that's what it's done throughout its history. "So, I think Bryan and Matheus coming in, Sesko coming off the bench, these are players who have proven that they're going to score goals and create chances." Maguire says defenders will know they are up for a tough afternoon against the trio, highlighting the physical prowess and potential of new striker Sesko. "He's obviously got great physical attributes and he's quick and he's strong and he's tall," he added. "He's very good in the air, attacking crosses and his movement in the box is really good. I think they're just going to create and score goals and that's what this club demands."

Isak, Rodrygo, Simons? Ten Premier League transfers that could still happen before deadline day
The Premier League once again heads the spending across the continent, with multiple English clubs having spent over £100m this summer, from Sunderland's £140m spree to Liverpool's deal for Florian Wirtz, which alone could reach £116m. Several big deals are still close too, with Arsenal on the verge of signing Eberechi Eze for £67.5m, while Chelsea are completing a deal for Julio Enciso and Nottingham Forest are close to wrapping up a move for Douglas Luiz. And with just 11 days left until the window slams shut, there is plenty going on behind the scenes as clubs look to make their final additions ahead of the 2025/26 season starting in earnest. Here are 10 Premier League deals that could still be done before the deadline. Alexander Isak Alexander Isak has been the subject of the summer's most protracted transfer saga, with a move to Liverpool constantly being touted but so far failing to materialise. The Sweden striker was the subject of a £110m bid from Liverpool earlier in the window, but the swiftness of the rejection from Newcastle means the Reds have not returned with a second offer. Most recently, the 25-year-old took matters into his own hands with a social media statement accusing his club of 'broken promises' over his future, though so far it has only served to harden Newcastle's stance that he will not be moving this summer. Plenty could change ahead of the deadline – with the Magpies perhaps not wanting to keep an unhappy player – but with the club struggling to sign a replacement, this is a deal that will go to the wire either way. Alejandro Garnacho The story around Alejandro Garnacho's future is another one that has dragged through the summer, with little movement initially before Chelsea began to make official moves towards signing the Argentine. Garnacho was essentially kicked out of the Manchester United squad by Ruben Amorim, with the winger not joining the club on their US tour and not being part of the squad for the opening game against Arsenal. Recent reports suggest that he has told all parties that he will only accept a move to Chelsea and turned down an offer from Bayern Munich in recent days. He has agreed personal terms with the Blues ahead of a move. United value the Argentina international at £50m, with Chelsea valuing him closer to £30m. But the Old Trafford hierarchy are set on their valuation after seeing other deals of a similar nature this summer, such as Noni Madueke's £48m switch from Chelsea to Arsenal. Xavi Simons As ever, the end of the window promises to be a busy one for Chelsea, and Xavi Simons is the other key target for the club before deadline day. Yoane Wissa Yoane Wissa has quietly become another one of the most drawn-out sagas of the summer window, with the Brentford man the subject of interest from clubs including Newcastle, Spurs and Nottingham Forest. However, it is the Magpies who lead the race, with the club seeing a recent £40m offer for Wissa turned down by Brentford. Much like Isak, Wissa has gone on a 'strike' of types, accusing the club of not honouring a promise that he could move this summer. The Congo international favours a move to Newcastle and believes it could happen after the Bees completed the signing of Dango Ouattara from Bournemouth. However, Brentford value their top scorer closer to the £50m, with Newcastle's latest bid falling well short of that. This is a story to follow for several reasons, as dominoes could fall across the market if this one goes through. Nicolas Jackson Nicolas Jackson's future has all of a sudden become the subject of plenty of intrigue, with the Senegal striker now finding himself down the pecking order at Chelsea after the arrival of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. Despite a 24/25 season in which he impressed at times, the 24-year-old is now free to leave Stamford Bridge, though Chelsea value him as high as £80m (however, reports also suggest a deal could be done closer to £60m depending on various factors). Plenty of Europe's top sides are interested, from AC Milan to Premier League clubs including Newcastle, but there is no serious progress so far and it could go to the deadline. Savinho Savinho recently emerged as a surprise target for Tottenham, with Thomas Frank's side now needing attacking reinforcements after the injury to James Maddison and the failure to capture Morgan Gibbs-White. City don't necessarily want to sell the Brazilian – with the club hierarchy currently blocking a move for the winger – and Spurs have already sent one proposal, which was worth around £51m and was rejected. It is thought City would sell for the right price, which would be a sum closer to £70m, though the move is not progressing at the time of writing. Rodrygo This is a potential deal that is interlinked with the future of Savinho, with City targeting Rodrygo if Savinho does leave. While the club hierarchy are blocking any deal for Savinho at the moment, it is understood that they would make a play for Rodrygo if their winger moved to Spurs. Madrid would want at least €100m (£87m) for Rodrygo, who is seemingly not in Xabi Alonso's plans after being left out of Madrid's opening game of the season against Osasuna last weekend. Marc Guehi In addition to Eze, Crystal Palace could be set to lose a second key player in the form of captain Marc Guehi. The England international has just one year left on his contract and though he is not pushing for a move, he is the subject of interest from clubs including Liverpool and Newcastle, who even placed a £60m bid for him last summer. Liverpool now seem the most concrete option for the centre-back, with the Reds light in defence if Virgil van Dijk or Ibrahima Konate were to get injured, but they are yet to agree a deal with Palace for the defender. As reported by The Independent, the Selhurst Park club have been open to selling Guehi this summer given his contract expires next year, but there has recently been a £10m difference in valuation between themselves and Liverpool. While the Anfield hierarchy are not budging from £35m, Palace are insistent on £45m. Chelsea have also been linked with a move after injuries to Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill, though it could be a little late for the Blues, while Newcastle and Spurs remain on the periphery. Gianluigi Donnarumma Donnarumma has emerged as one of the surprise exits of the summer after helping PSG to a treble last season, with the French club's signing of Lucas Chevalier seemingly relegating the Italy international to a supporting role if he were to stay. That has opened the door to a move away from the French capital, with the seasoned 'keeper attracting plenty of interest from around Europe. Though Manchester United were touted as a potential destination originally, it is Manchester City who have emerged as the most concrete option in recent weeks, despite the recent arrival of James Trafford. However, any deal for the Italian hinges on the future of Ederson, who is the subject of interest from Galatasaray. If the Brazilian completes the move, then Donnarumma could well move to the Etihad. PSG are said to want around £26m for the 26-year-old, with personal terms unlikely to be an issue if Ederson leaves. Maghnes Akliouche Tottenham have identified AS Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche as an alternative target to Savinho, as The Independent reported this week, with the Frenchman also being monitored by several of the continent's top clubs. Monaco would want £47.5m for the 23-year-old, who impressed for the Ligue 1 giants last term with seven goals in all competitions and scored last week in the club's opening win over Le Havre. With a deal for Savinho so far being blocked and his £70m asking price seen as steep, this could be a deal that accelerates quickly after the failed move for Eze.
