Jaipur: Monsoon showers continued across the state for the third consecutive day Friday, with many places experiencing mild to moderate showers. The rainfall exposed civic authorities' lofty claims about their preparedness for the rainy season, as rampant waterlogging was witnessed in many areas of Jaipur and other parts of the state. Patna: Southwest monsoon on Friday covered almost all districts of the state, bringing much-needed relief to people. The city witnessed light showers on Friday morning, while several other districts, including Gaya, Sheikhpura, Rohtas, Buxar, Bhojpur, Madhepura, Nalanda and Bikramganj received moderate to heavy rainfall. The Indian meteorological department (IMD) had earlier forecast above normal rainfall in June in the state. The IMD said that seven districts, including Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Buxar, Rohtas, Kaimur and Aurangabad, are likely to witness heavy rainfall on Saturday. It issued an orange alert of thunderstorm and lightning in 13 districts, including Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Madhepura, Saharsa, Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Kaimur, Aurangabad and Arwal.
