Had no role in choosing government transport: Nidhhi Agerwal
, who recently acted with AP Deputy CM
Pawan Kalyan
in Hari Hara Veera Mallu, issued a clarification after facing severe backlash for travelling in a government vehicle to a store opening in Bhimavaram

During the event, the local organisers arranged transportation for me, which happened to be a vehicle belonging to the Andhra Pradesh government. I had no role in choosing or requesting this vehicle — it was provided solely by the event organisers. I want to make it absolutely clear that these claims are completely baseless, and the use of the vehicle had nothing to do with any government officials Nidhhi Agerwal.
What happened:
During her recent visit to Bhimavaram for a store inauguration, Nidhhi was seen travelling in a vehicle belonging to the Andhra Pradesh government. Soon after, social media users began trolling the actress, questioning whether the arrangement had anything to do with her recent role alongside Pawan Kalyan in Hari Hara Veera Mallu. On Monday, the actress issued a statement, calling the claims 'completely baseless' and clarified that the car was arranged by the event organisers for logistical purposes and that she had no say in its selection.

Russia bans Reporters Without Borders, puts press freedom group on ‘undesirable' list
Russia has put Reporters Without Borders (RSF) on its list of "undesirable" organisations, effectively banning the media watchdog from operating in the country, Moscow's justice ministry register showed Thursday. The Kremlin has escalated its decade-long clampdown on independent media after sending troops to Ukraine in 2022.(AP) Under a controversial law passed in 2015, but rarely used before its offensive on Ukraine, Russia can ban overseas organisations deemed a threat to national security. Being branded as "undesirable" criminalises the group and puts its staff at risk of prosecution. The Kremlin has escalated its decade-long clampdown on independent media after sending troops to Ukraine in 2022, imposing sweeping censorship laws that effectively ban criticism of the army. RSF, based in France, regularly denounces attacks on freedom of expression and helps persecuted journalists. Only last month, a Russian court jailed a journalist and former volunteer for the late opposition leader Alexey Navalny -- whose organisations have been declared "extremist" in Russia -- for 12 years. Reporters Without Borders described her imprisonment as a "symbol of the Kremlin's repression of independent voices" and called for her release, as for all journalists in Russian detention. The list of "undesirable" entities maintained by the justice ministry targets around 250 organisations now, including Amnesty International, Greenpeace, and Yale University. It also features groups controlled by people long reviled by Russian authorities, including Hungarian-born billionaire George Soros and Mikhail Khodorkovsky, a Russian tycoon who opposed President Vladimir Putin.

Surging crime: New Mexico's governor declares emergency; comes days after Trump took control of DC police
New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham (AP image) New Mexico's Democratic Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham on Wednesday have declared a state of emergency in Rio Arriba County due to rising violence and drug trafficking. This comes two days after President Donald Trump took control of Washington DC's police force to combat violent crime in the Democrat-run capital. The county, which includes two Native American Pueblo communities and stretches from Española to the Colorado border, has long suffered from some of the nation's highest opioid overdose death rates. Governor Grisham said local leaders had urgently requested help, as public safety threats had 'overwhelmed local resources.' "When our local leaders called for help to protect their communities, we responded immediately with decisive action," Grisham said in a statement. "We are making every resource available to support our local partners on the ground and restore public safety and stability to these areas that have been hardest hit by this crisis." The declaration will provide $750,000 to the state department of homeland security and emergency management to coordinate the response and supply resources to affected communities. She said increased criminal activity has resulted in rising cases of homelessness, family instability and fatal drug overdoses. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Best Method for a Flat Stomach After 50 (It's Genius!) Lulutox Undo It has put a lot of strain on local governments and law enforcement. Police calls in Española and surrounding areas have doubled in the past two years and police dispatches to businesses have increased four times. The county's drug crisis, driven largely by fentanyl, has become the worst in the state. Although no immediate troop deployments were announced, the declaration allows authorities to call the National Guard if needed. Emergency funds will help local law enforcement agencies in supporting overtime pay, new equipment and coordinated policing, as reported by Fox News. Local tribal leaders have also raised alarms. Santa Clara Pueblo Governor James Naranjo warned that fentanyl and alcohol abuse were harming children and impacting the wider community. "The Pueblo has expended thousands of dollars trying to address this crisis... and to protect Pueblo children who are directly and negatively affected by a parent's or guardian's addiction," said Santa Clara Governor James Naranjo in a July letter to Lujan Grisham. "But we are not an isolated community and the causes and effects of fentanyl/alcohol abuse, increased crime and increased homelessness extend to the wider community. " The move follows Grisham's April decision to send the National Guard to Albuquerque to help address juvenile crime and the fentanyl crisis there. Republican officials welcomed the emergency declaration. Española City Councilor Sam LeDoux called it 'a step in the right direction'. "I am pleased that the governor is addressing the out-of-control crime in our community," LeDoux said. It has long been overrun and not addressed. Fentanyl has overwhelmed our law enforcement, and this seems to be a step in the right direction to protecting our citizens." New Mexico GOP Chairwoman Amy Barela have urged the governor to focus on solutions that address the root causes of crime. "This community is long overdue in receiving help to combat the out-of-control crime caused by the failed policies of our state leadership," Barela said in a statement. "While I hope the deployment of the National Guard will provide real assistance, the people of Española deserve more than just street counselors — they deserve action that addresses the root of the problem." "Thanks to President Trump's America First policies and his decisive action to secure the border, we have already begun to see crime rates decrease nationally. Now, it's time to put New Mexicans first by ensuring those who commit crimes are caught and held accountable."

Netanyahu's Gaza plan unveiled! Israel planning to resettle Palestinians in THIS dangerous Muslim country; not Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the country is…
Israel is reportedly planning to relocate Gazans to South Sudan. (File) Israel-Hamas war: Amid growing global pressure to stop Israel's military campaign in the Gaza Strip, reports have emerged about an alleged Israeli plan to oust Palestinians from the battle-ravaged Strip and resettle them in war-torn East Sudan. Quoting sources, Associated Press (AP) reported that under purported plan, which is the brainchild of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Jewish state is in talks with the African nation. What is Israel's Gaza relocation plan? The move is part is of Israel's broader plan to 'encourage' the mass exodus of Gazans from the Strip, where thousands of Palestinian civilians, including women and children, have been killed in Israeli military action against the Hamas armed group for the past 22 months. As per the AP report, the proposed Gaza relocation plan has raised human rights concerns as Gazans would essentially be relocated from one war-ravaged, famine-prone region to another. However, the progress of the alleged talks between Israel and South Sudan on the matter is unclear at present. Meanwhile, the purported Gaza relocation plan championed by PM Benjamin Netanyahu, has triggered a backlash from global rights groups and the international community at large, who have rejected the 'insidious' proposal, saying it violates international law, and dubbed it as a blueprint for the forced expulsion of Palestinians, and part of Israel's alleged 'Greater Israel' plan. The relocation plan would allow Israel to annex the Gaza Strip and build Jewish settlements in the Palestinian homeland after forcing out the natives, they allege. Why Israel's plan is facing global backlash? Additionally, South Sudan has been at war for almost half of the time since independence from Sudan in 2011, and is currently facing a political crisis with President Salva Kiir's government recently placing Vice President Riek Machar under house arrest, once again raising the risk of a civil war in the African nation. The famine-ravaged country is crippled by rampant corruption and relies upon international aid to feed its 11 million population, a challenge that has increased after the Trump administration drastically cut foreign aid. Will South Sudan accept Israel's offer? Notably, South Sudan has refuted claims that it was in talks with Israel on the matter. 'The claims are unfounded and do not reflect the official position or policy of the government of South Sudan,' South Sudan's foreign ministry said in a statement, which came after Israel's Deputy Foreign Minister Sharen Haskel met South Sudan President Salva Kiir and Foreign Minister Semaaya Kumba. Experts believe the deal could be a major opportunity for South Sudan to forge closer ties with Israel, and also improve relations with Washington, particularly the Donald Trump administration, that had previously supported the idea but has backed away from it in recent months. What are the challenges to settling Gazans in South Sudan? However, Israel's plan to resettle Palestinians faces multi-faceted challenges as the African country is predominantly Christian and animist, and is in constant turmoil with the Arab and Muslim-dominated north Sudan, with whom it fought a long war for South Sudan's independence. This historical animosity with Arab Muslims means Palestinians may not feel welcome in South Sudan. 'South Sudan should not become a dumping ground for people,' said Edmund Yakani, head of a South Sudanese civil society group. Yakani warned of tensions if the identity of the incoming people and the duration of their stay is not clear. The report, citing Egyptian officials, said that Egypt, which shares a border with Gaza, has known for months about Israel's efforts to persuade other countries, including South Sudan, to accept Palestinians. Cairo has strongly opposed Israel's plan and pressured South Sudan not to accept the proposal because it fears it could lead to a flood of refugees into its own territory, the report added. Where else is Israel planning to relocate Gazans? Meanwhile, apart from South Sudan, Israel has also initiated similar talks with other African countries such as Sudan, Somalia, and Somalia's separatist region Somaliland, though the status of those discussions remains unknown, Additionally, Israeli media claims that Tel Aviv is also in discussions with five countries including Indonesia, Uganda, and Libya. The news comes amidst the backdrop of the backlash over Benjamin Netanyahu's comments over Greater Israel, days after Israel Defense Forces (IDF) chief Eyal Zamir opposed the Israeli Prime Minister's plan to occupy parts of the Gaza Strip which are not already under the control of Israel.
