Peter Andre supports Liam Payne's girlfriend over 'signs' from the dead

Daily Mirror5 days ago

EXCLUSIVE: Liam Payne's girlfriend Kate Cassidy has said she believes the late One Direction star leaves her 'signs' from beyond the grave - and Peter Andre is supporting her
Peter Andre is not a stranger to grief. After losing his brother, Andrew, to kidney cancer in 2012, the dad of six is sympathising and relating to the late Liam Payne's girlfriend Kate Cassidy after she said she believes Liam leaves her 'signs'.
The One Direction singer died at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina in October 2024.

Kate has taken to social media to share what she considered to be a message from Liam months on from his death. The star shared a screenshot of the 4,444 shares on one of her social media posts, writing alongside it, "Hi Liam," with a white heart emoji.

Kate has previously spoken about how 444 was her and Liam's angel number - a pattern of numbers that signifies a message of love and support. Kate wrote in her heartbreaking tribute to Liam at the time of her death that they both believed in that specific angel number.
In his exclusive OK! Column, Peter could relate with Kate as he said: 'Some people will find that bonkers, but when I lost my brother, I remember many times when I thought he was sending me signs. It's easy for someone to say, 'That can't be true.''

'But until you go through a personal experience like that, you ought not judge. If the thought of a sign offers comfort in dark times, why shouldn't people believe? My mum has such strong faith that there's life after death – who are we to challenge that faith and hope?'
Pete was left heartbroken when Andrew passed away with his family at his bedside. A spokeswoman said at the time: 'Peter is devastated. He was very, very close to his brother. This is the very first family member Peter has experienced losing. He just needs time to grieve.'
Andrew, who was diagnosed with kidney cancer in February 2012, was understood to have been responding well to treatment before his situation worsened in the November.

His parents flew to the UK from their home in Australia to be at his bedside with his wife and daughter, as well as singer Peter.
A family friend said: 'Everyone was with him when he passed away. They all did everything they could for Andrew and there wasn't one waking minute when he wasn't with somebody.'
Peter was preparing for a show in Cardiff as part of his Up Close And Personal tour when he was told Andrew had taken a turn for the worse. He immediately cancelled his remaining tour dates this month so he could be with his brother.

He even moved Andrew into his Surrey home so he could receive specialised treatment at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea, West London. Peter spent every moment possible at the hospital with his brother's wife Magda and the couple's daughter.
Andrew frequently appeared in various reality TV shows alongside Peter and offered emotional support when his marriage to glamour model Katie Price broke down in May, 2009. At the time, Katie sent a message of support to her former husband on X. She wrote: 'My thoughts are with the Andre family at this difficult time xx.'
Peter previously described his reaction on being told of his brother's illness, saying: 'I was horrified, so shocked, and I broke down. The tears were just rolling down my face and I've cried every day since.'

All you need to know about Alyth and District Agricultural Show

The summer agricultural event season is in full swing and thousands of people are expected to descend on a field in Perthshire for one of the next bumper instalments. Alyth and District Agricultural Show is on at Bogles Field, Essendy Road, Blairgowrie, next Saturday (June 14) from 8.30am-6.30pm. Visitors will find cattle, sheep, horses, donkeys, vintage tractors, trade and food/drink stands, children's activities, Highland dancing, a dog show and a pipe band in full flow. Alyth Show started in the 1940s, later becoming Alyth and District Agricultural Show. It grew steadily over the years and in the late 80s was deemed to be too large for its site at Diamond Jubilee Park, Alyth . So, it moved to a local field in 1990 and was then rotated between different farms. The annual event has been held at Bogles Field, Blairgowire, most years since 2013. This year's show president, Peter Mitchell, told us about a new addition to the roster. He said: 'We are delighted to be hosting a display of around 15 Caterpillars (agricultural machinery) at this year's show to celebrate 100 years of Caterpillar. 'Some of the models will be competing in our vintage section and parade. 'But many will be on display to provide an amazing showcase of these magnificent machines in their centenary year.' Pooches can be entered into the 2pm 'companion' dog show, including pedigree and novelty classes, any time up until 1pm. Peter added: 'We also take on-the-day entries for our horse sections. 'And in our unaffiliated show jumping classes, we have five classes catering for all ages and abilities, with entries taken on the day also.' Show secretary Gail Robertson said there were already 45 entries in the cattle classes, 160 for sheep categories, 80 in the horse, pony and donkey sections and 55 for vintage tractors, implements and engines. Schedules and entry forms can be found online at Bogles Field, Essendy Road, Blairgowrie. Adults £10, OAP & over 12s £5, Under 12s get in free. Tickets can be bought at the gate. Yes and it's free

'I was on the X Factor - nothing was real and the judges were actors'

The X Factor has been a staple of British television since it launched in 2004, and now a former contestant has spoken out on what really goes on behind the scenes of the show The X Factor has been on our screens for many years, showcasing fresh talent every year. For many Brits, it's a yearly tradition - that one show we can all get behind when it returns. But one former contestant has now broken his silence, and what he says about the show might just make you see it in a different way. Wagner, who became a wildcard favourite back in 2010, didn't quite make the final - but he still managed to leave his mark until he was booted out of the quarter final. That season saw Matt Cardle crowned as the winner and One Direction launching into stardom. ‌ READ MORE: 'Saviour in a bottle' Elizabeth Arden anti-ageing cream slashed to £44 in deal stack ‌ More than a decade on, Wagner has come forward with bold claims about what really went on behind the scenes and according to him, it wasn't the mentors calling the shots - it was all in the hand of the producers. ''The judges are actors', he claimed. 'It was a reality TV show but nothing is real... Everything is planned in advance and my contact with Louis was just for cameras.' He also went on to reveal his vocal coach felt more of a mentor than his mentor Louis. During his time on the show, critics launched an internet campaign for him to win the show, just as a way to 'p*ss off Simon'. But his journey came to an end, when he was voted out in sixth place after a sing off with Mary Byrne. He went on to say that his vocal coach felt more like a mentor than Louis Walsh and he's not even convinced the judges even picked the songs. 'I'm sure the producers would pick the songs for us,' he said And the critique is allegedly just as scripted. Wagner claimed producers would ask the vocal coaches for feedback and then hand it over to the judges to deliver on air. ‌ 'They would look at the camera, but every now and then they would look away and read the script. Some would look more than others!' he said He also suggested the panel - once made up of Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh - slowly changed into "anyone can be a judge". ‌ 'The script was to make sure the entertainment would keep going because they couldn't rely on the judges to be witty or quick thinking.' At the time, Simon claimed an the attempt to derail the show had failed. 'There were people out there trying to derail this show, we've put this show back in the hands of the public.' But Wagner says otherwise 'It's not democracy, it's showbusiness', he said. 'They knew that they wanted to promote One Direction and everybody else were just extras in the play.' ‌ He claimed that on the day he was sent home, a merchandising staff member told him he'd sold out of his official merchandise and had been leading the vote; however there is no suggestion the votes were rigged. Wagner also revealed that Louis faked interactions between the pair. In every episode, Louis kept mispronouncing his name, saying it like Wag-nah rather than the correct Vawg-ner. ‌ 'It was a joke that Louis agreed with me!" Wagner explained. "He said 'I'm gonna call you Wagner all the time and you're gonna say Louis, my name is Vawg-ner'". He said: 'That was fun and it was Louis' idea. It was smart.' However despite his claims, it is clear The X Factor helped to launch household names like Little Mix, Olly Murs and Alexandra Burke. But over the years, stories emerged about the show's darker side - with some former stars alleging scenes were staged to boost ratings. Despite missing out on the top spot, Wagner made the most of his fame - raking in cash from personalised video messages for fans. 'From the videos I would get £100,000 a year', he said. ‌ But when the money started to dry up, he switched careers - trying his hand at running a hair transplant in Brazil. It wasn't for him, and he eventually returned to the UK to launch his band - Kings with Wings: The Wagner Rock Band - a name inspired by his love of birdwatching. 'I got lots of bookings', he said, 'but I felt so awkward singing She Bangs, because my God, that is a stupid song but people love it.' Now, Wagner is writing his own setlist performing great songs by legends like The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, and Bob Marley.

Kerry Katona shows true colours over Katie Price friendship after cancelled tour

OK! Magazine columnist Kerry Katona appears to have thrown shade at her long-term friend Katie Price after their joint upcoming tour was cancelled as she says she's finally 'back on track' Kerry Katona has shared her thoughts on some of the latest hot topics in showbiz, including Chris Martin's shock split with Dakota Johnson after eight years, Jessie J's breast cancer diagnosis, Jamie Laing becoming a first-time-dad, and Kerry herself feeling 'back on track' after her joint tour with long-term friend Katie Price was recently cancelled. Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson's shock split I was sad to read about Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson's split, I thought they made a really nice couple and seemed very happy. I hope they're both doing OK. I really like Chris and his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow. ‌ I think they're such a great family and it's amazing how they have managed to co-parent their kids and stay friends. I take my hat off to anyone who can do that, I wish I could have. ‌ I always wish Brian and I could have stayed friends. Molly went to watch him at a festival last week and I would have loved to have gone with her and been able to enjoy it as mates. His fiance is lovely and they've got a gorgeous little one. It would be great to have a better relationship. Love to Jessie J I'm sending all of my love and prayers to Jessie J after her shock breast cancer diagnosis, it's just awful. I want to give her all of the strength in the world, I can't imagine what she's going through. I know she's got a little one too, so my heart is going out to all the family. My health anxiety has always been bad and, as I get older, hearing about people being diagnosed makes me so nervous. I have a lump on my armpit which is just swollen lymph nodes, but I've got to keep an eye on it anyway, which scares me. I recently found out my biological family history, because I never knew my dad or what health issues were on his side of the family, and my grandmother had breast cancer. Thankfully, I've been checked and i'm OK, but it's scary. A decade of love Love Island is back and I cannot wait to get stuck in - it's my guilty pleasure! We've got Love Island and then my series of Celebs Go Dating, so it's a good summer for TV! I've been so busy that I haven't seen much about the new islanders, but i'm sure they will be great. The show is celebrating ten years on TV and I really hope they do something to honour Caroline Flack - the show was her baby and she loved it. I was disappointed to see that she didn't get a tribute in the Decade Of Love special they did earlier this month, I think that's wrong. ‌ Jamie's baby joy I'm so happy for Made In Chelsea couple Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo, who have announced they're having a baby. They're a really great couple and I can't wait to see them as parents. It's such a beautiful thing to become parents for the first time and I'm wishing them all the best. I know they've been hosting Radio 1 together recently, which I think is great, but unfortunately I'm loyal to Heart FM - Amanda Holden cracks me up on the breakfast show! Back on track I'm feeling so much better this week after being run-down the last while. It's great to finally feel like myself again. I went to Oxford Natural Clinic last week to help me feel revitalised, and they topped up my Botox too, so I'm feeling glam again. Aside from filming Celebs Go Dating, which we are almost finished with, I've just been spending time with the family. Lilly has been home this week from Ireland and Molly's also just arrived, so I'm happy to have my babies back. I always love having the kids at home - it's the best feeling in the world.
