Hollyoaks star David Tag engaged after popping the question in romantic Ibiza proposal
Former Hollyoaks star David Tag, who played Sylver McQueen on the soap from 2018 to 2022, has announced he and girlfriend Abi Harrison are now engaged after he popped the question Hollyoaks star David Tag has announced his engagement to Abi Harrison after popping the question in a very romantic way. The actor, who played Sylver McQueen on the Channel 4 soap from 2018 until 2022, is holidaying in Ibiza with his girlfriend Abi Harrison and took her down to the beach during a sunset on the Mediterranean island where he got down on one knee. He posted a series of photos on Instagram and a short video which showed that beauty therapist Abi immediately accepted his proposal and they shared a kiss in front of the ocean. Alongside the post, David wrote: "This years Ibiza turned out to be a bit more eventful than normal," and a flurry of his former co-stars rushed to send their congratulations. Former Waterloo Road actress Chelsee Healey - who stars as David's on-screen sister Goldie McQueen on Hollyoaks - wrote: "Omg congratultions so so happy for you - and James Sutton, better known to soap fans as John Paul McQueen, simply wrote: "YESSSSSS!!!!!" and emblazoned his post with a series of red heart emojis. Former I'm A Me Of Here! campmate Owen Warner, who found fame as Romeo Nightingale on Hollyoaks, wrote: "Congrats big man [red heart emoji]", and was joined by other co-stars such as Isabelle Smith, Nikki Sanderson and Bethannie Hare, who also sent their congratulatory messages. The couple have been together since 2019, and they moved in together at the onset of the COVID-19 lockdowns the following year. In 2021, they welcomed baby Reuben to the world, and it was then that the idea of marriage was first spoken about. Even though it has taken a few years for the pair to actually get engaged, they admitted at the time that tying the knot was something they hoped would happen eventually. Asked if they have discussed getting engaged, they didn't shirk the question. Abi added: "We both want to get married, but there's no pressure." At the time, the couple even noted that there could even be more children on the way sometime in the future. David said: "We instantly made ourselves broody again when he came out and we saw how cute he was! We would like more than one." The actor admitted he's been feeling some 'dad guilt' after returning to work just 10 days after Reuben was born. He told OK!: "It's been completely life-changing but we've taking it in our stride, especially Abi. I've been at work a lot of the time but Abi has taken it on like she's done it all before. "The labour was just over three hours. It was really good and really quick – well, really good for me, maybe not so much for Abi!" In 2023, the couple announced they were expecting their second child and son Kaspar arrived in September of that year. Prior to landing his signature role on Hollyoaks, David appeared in a single episode of ITV's soap Emmerdale before joining the Channel 4 drama in a regular role. His character arrived having been released from prison following the murder of his abusive stepfather, and his storylines featured him trying to build a relationship with his sister after nearly 20 years behind bars. In early 2022, David bowed out of the long-running show, which is gearing up to celebrate his 30th anniversary, when his alter-ego died in an explosion at the Pateserie. Since leaving the serial, he has appeared in an episode of Meet the Richardsons and has been a regular in pantomime during the Christmas season. However, behind-the-scenes he was in pain and suffering from varicose veins, and only opened up about the issue after he had quit the serial. Appearing on This Morning with Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, David revealed a small vein began to appear more than ten years ago. He went on: "When it got hot or when it got cold it was painful, and to touch it was quite sensitive." The actor revealed he was particularly impacted when trying to play with his kids and while training in the gym. Recalling being on set, David said: "A lot of the times I would take my clothes off for certain scenes, and I would try and hide it." "I wanted to do the scenes so I would just position myself in a certain way so they couldn't see it," he continued, saying he was "a little bit embarrassed of it". David sought treatment after realising it 'wouldn't go away', and as the size of the vein increased, he realised: 'This is getting out of hand, I need to get it sorted.' The star underwent a treatment involving laser on both his legs, which left him wearing stocking-like clothes and unable to train for a week. 'Now, you wouldn't even be able to tell it was there,' he said, revealing his confidence has since increased.

Coronation Street fans stunned by age difference between Cassie and Tyrone stars
Coronation Street stars Claire Sweeney and Alan Halsall have been leaving fans stunned due to the age gap between them in real life, despite playing mother and son on the cobbles Coronation Street fans have been left gobsmacked by the real-life age gap between Claire Sweeney and Alan Halsall, who play mother-son pair Cassie and Tyrone. Alan first graced our screens as Tyrone in the iconic soap back in 1998. Since then, he's become a stalwart of the show, featuring in numerous major storylines. From his romantic entanglements and subsequent marriage to Fiz Brown (Jennie McAlpine) to enduring domestic abuse from his fiancée Kirsty Soames (Natalie Gumede), Tyrone's tenure in Weatherfield has been anything but dull. Cassie, on the other hand, made her Weatherfield debut in 2023 as Tyrone's estranged mother and a recovering drug addict. It didn't take long for her to find herself embroiled in some drama. Earlier this year, she was responsible for poisoning Ken Barlow (William Roache) - whom she was looking after - in a shocking attempt to prolong her presence in his life, reports OK!. In a dramatic twist, Ken was rushed to hospital following a heart attack - thankfully, he pulled through. The truth about Cassie's role in Ken's health scare was eventually revealed, leaving the community - Tyrone included - appalled. Despite everything, Ken forgave her, and she has since moved back in with Tyrone. Adding to the intrigue, Cassie has recently rekindled her romance with Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and they've gone public with their relationship. However, off-screen, fans have been distracted by the discovery of the age difference between actors Claire and Alan. Claire is 54 and Alan is 42, which means there's a mere 12-year age gap between the two stars. However, their on-screen characters, Cassie and Tyrone, have a larger age difference of nearly 16 years. "Just found out that Claire Sweeney and Corrie son Alan have an 11-year age-gap wth," one person expressed surprise on a Corrie Facebook fan page. Another added: "Another unrealistic age gap." A third was taken aback, commenting on the social media platform: "Oh wow I didn't realise that." Yet another wrote: "I've said from the start she doesn't look old enough to be Tyrone's mum."

Peter Andre reveals 'most embarrassing' moment after huge on-air blunder
Peter Andre has opened up about the on-air experience he wishes to forget in his latest column with OK! saying it was 'so embarassing'. Peter Andre has opened up about the 'most embarrassing moments of his life', as he shares his thoughts on Lady Gaga's recent tumble during a recent gig in the US. The American hitmaker was kicking off the Mayhem Ball at the T-Mobile Arena on July 16 in Las Vegas, Nevada as she was spotted losing her footing and falling over during the performance. As the star moved towards the barrier to engage with her front-row fans she fell over whilst performing one of her tracks Vanish Into You. In the clips shared online, the star could be seen stumbling as she walked passed a cameraman, who nearly lost his balance too, just before she rather ironically sang the lyrics, "Into the night ... we fall," and then crashed to the floor, landing on her backside. However Lady GaGa bounced back like a professional and carried on her stroll by the barrier, the Mirror reports. Peter who is currently finishing a new album and best known for his 90s smash Mysterious Girl, commented on Lady GaGa's mishap in his exclusive column with OK! this week about what he describes as one of the: "I saw Lady Gaga 's awkward faceplant at a gig. It's awful when that happens. But I doubt she'll be having sleepless nights over it – these things happen during live shows." He continued, referencing the notorious moment when the Queen of Pop Madonna tumbled down stairs whilst performing Living for Love at the 2015 Brit Awards, before admitting he'd experienced similar mortification: "Look at the Madonna incident, for example. Admittedly, on a smaller scale, it happened to me once on the T4 stage." "Walking down steps, I tripped and fell. It was so embarrassing – and it was on TV. But people forget... until you remind them about it, which I just did." During a 2023 episode of Sky's Extraordinary Life Stories, Peter reflected on the unforgettable blunder whilst performing live on stage, sharing the cringe-worthy moment from the T4 on The Beach festival in 2009 with presenter John Reynolds. The dad-of-five stated: "I appeared on the episode to discuss lots of topics, including my childhood, career highlights and family life. We also discussed the funny moments in my career, including my unfortunate trip off the stage at T4 On The Beach, among other things." The accident happened whilst Peter was belting out his then-latest track Behind Closed Doors. He stumbled whilst singing to the packed audience and ended up plummeting straight off the stage, his glasses flying off in the process. However, demonstrating true professionalism, he persevered and refused to let the fact his glasses slid of his face prevent him from completing his performance.

Anne Nolan has 'anxieties about dying'
Anne Nolan suffers from anxiety because she's so worried "about dying" after battling cancer and losing two of her sisters to the disease. The Nolans star was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000 and battled it again almost exactly 20 years later but in 2024 she was told she was "clear" of the illness - which claimed the lives of her sister Bernie in 2013 and Linda in January - but Anne, 74, is still plagued by worries about the disease coming back. Anne admitted her cancer battle in the era of COVID-19 left her riddled with worries told OK! magazine: "It was really awful. "I ended up having anxiety about dying. I've had to have tablets from the doctor for anxiety because of having cancer during COVID. I wasn't allowed to be with my family. I was in hospital for 11 days ... "I still have anxiety but it's not as bad. I have anxieties about dying. It is about the cancer coming back as well ... I don't want to die, I love being alive. I love being here." She added that losing her sisters to cancer and surviving her own ordeal has given her a different prospective on life. Anne explained: "When you've had a life-threatening disease and you've lost two sisters then it brings it all to the forefront. "It makes you value life. You grab everything with both hands. Whenever I'm asked to do something I say yes straight away. When you come through it and you're at the other end and you think, well I didn't die and I'm alive and I'm gonna live every day." She went on to reveal she now wants to tick some plans off her bucket list including a trip to Italy to visit the Vatican and a holiday in Nashville, Tennessee. Anne also wants to learn to swim, pick up a new language and learn to play an instrument. She previously opened up about her brush with cancer and admitted she feels "lucky" to have pulled through. During an appearance on ITV's Lorraine, Anne said: "I am so lucky. I had my first cancer in 2000, I had my chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and an operation. And after six months of chemo, I was fine. And then 20 years later, almost to the day, it came back again in a different breast. "Two separate cancers. And again, I had the chemo and the radiotherapy and the operation and I'm happy to say that I'm clear. I've got another year before I'm actually discharged but I'm clear of cancer at the moment, thank goodness. So I count myself really, really lucky. "

Devastating reason people are buying lifelike £8,000 'reborn' baby dolls
Those who care for startlingly realistic 'reborn' dolls often come up against fierce criticism, but many may not realise that there's a heartbreaking reason behind these purchases, which are far more than just toys In recent years, we've seen a trend for 'reborn' dolls - and there's a desperately sad reason they've proven so popular. These dolls are so intricately made, that even up close you'd be forgiven for thinking you were looking at a real human baby. Crafters will dedicate hours to the tiniest of details, from painting on veins to threading fine alpaca hairs into the scalp. Meanwhile, those who buy them can enhance the realism even further, purchasing items such as perfume to make them smell like a real baby. These incredibly lifelike dolls can cost thousands, but to many owners, they're priceless. Indeed, some view themselves as their doll's parent, treating it with all the love and care they would a real child. 'I'm a mum to 250 reborn dolls - friends judge me like Katie Price but our bond is real' 'I make lifelike baby dolls – people troll me but they help more than you know' In a recent piece penned for the Wall Street Journal, reporter Rory Satran visited the Dolls of the World fair, held at a convention center in Greensboro, North Carolina. Here, doll enthusiasts from all over gathered with their 'babies', which ranged from the realistic to the fantastical. She recalled how those attending conventions in other parts of the building were "shocked" to see the dolls being handled as though they were human, with some believing they were looking at real-life babies. There are, of course, those who find this "hobby" a bit disquieting, even creepy, and some who participate have to contend with a fair bit of criticism. Satran spoke with Sally McMahon of Massapequa Park, New York, who arrived with her hybrid rabbit-human doll. Opening up about the negativity she's had to face, Sally shared: 'Unfortunately, we get a lot of hate in the doll community. They say, 'Oh my God, these crazy doll people'.' However, as unusual as this sort of possession is considered by many, Satran noted that these dolls serve an important therapeutic purpose, and can help those who've gone through terrible trauma, including miscarriage and baby loss. These precious objects can also be of great comfort for women with conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Alzheimer's, dementia, and autism. While at the convention, Satran spoke with Katherine Hansell of St. Charles, Missouri, whose adopted adult daughter suffered devastating childhood abuse. The mother and daughter now use a reborn baby, also named Crystal, in order to model what love and care should look like. Katherine told Satran: 'We say that this Crystal was never hurt." Media personality Katie Price previously sparked conversation after sharing images of herself with 'reborn' baby twins. Although fans were initially confused, a source later explained to OK! magazine that this was a way for Katie, who has previously suffered miscarriages, to deal with her trauma and feel soothed. The source revealed: "She's been through a lot of trauma in her life, and she's been at her happiest when she's had her babies. It's her happy place and safe place, but the beauty of them not being real is she can just get on with her life as normal, and they don't keep her up all night." If you've been affected by any of the issues in this story you can contact Tommy's, the UK's pregnancy and baby loss charity, for free on 0800 014 7800, or email midwife@
