Weekend Forecast: Slight chance of rain for Father's Day

Yahoo19 hours ago

If you have any outdoor plans for this Father's Day Weekend, you may need to keep an eye on the sky as there will be a slight chance for rain. It will be a typical June weekend. Warm, humid, with a chance of a pop-up shower in the afternoon hours.
Friday returns soggy weather, which will lead to on-and-off rainfall for the majority of the day. Totals will thankfully remain on the light side when compared to the recent downpours we have become accustomed to.
We will begin the process of wrapping up the rain on Saturday with skies clearing by the afternoon. I expect most people to stay dry; however, I can't rule out the chance for a stray shower to develop. Similar conditions linger for Sunday. High temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s for both days.
Water levels are starting to return to safe floating levels after the record rainfall we've received in the spring. Most rivers are running a bit higher than normal. With that being said, they shouldn't pose any problem for any non-first-time floaters.

Denver weather: Afternoon showers and storms, mostly sunny skies

DENVER (KDVR) — The chance for afternoon and evening thunderstorms continues in Denver's weather forecast Friday ahead of a hot weekend. The east side of town along with the plains is under a marginal risk of severe weather with primary threats of hail and damaging winds. A stray tornado is possible for far northeast Colorado after 6 PM. Friday will start off with sunshine, then as high temperatures climb to the upper 80s, clouds will build in ahead of the chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms through the afternoon and evening. Friday afternoon, storms could become strong to severe, producing damaging wind gusts and large hail, especially in eastern and northeastern Colorado. Most of the shower and thunderstorms will be out of Denver by this evening. We could see some residual clouds in the evening, other than that we're looking at mostly clear skies with lows in the upper 50s. Winds will be out of the south anywhere from 5-15 mph. Sunny and hot conditions will move in by the weekend. Saturday in on track to be Denver's first day in 90s alongside plenty of sunshine. Father's Day will be even hotter, with a high in the mid 90s. Dry and hot weather continues Monday, as highs climb back into the 90s. Tuesday afternoon will bring a chance for a few showers. This will limit high temperatures to more seasonal levels in the mid-80s. Then, sunshine returns Wednesday and Thursday and will help temperatures climb back up toward 90 degrees.
