Iran Conducts Missile Drills in Gulf of Oman
Iran launched a two-day missile drill on Thursday in the northern Indian Ocean and Sea of Oman. The exercise, titled 'Sustainable Power 1404,' is Iran's first large-scale military drill since the 12-day war in June. It highlights Iran's naval and missile capabilities amid elevated regional tensions. State television reported the deployment of surface and subsurface warships, air units, missile defence batteries, and electronic warfare brigades. Navy spokesman Rear Admiral Abbas Hassani told the ISNA news agency that precision-strike cruise missiles, such as the Nasir and Qadir, were used in the drills. 'The exercise is for improved combat readiness, an improved command system, and reinforcement of deterrence,' he stated. The drills took place about a month after the 'Casarex 2025 joint drill with Russia in the Caspian Sea. These actions follow the 12-day war in June, during which Israel struck Iranian missile sites. In retaliation, Iran struck Israeli cities with missiles and drones and attempted a strike on a U.S. base in Qatar. Iranian media reported that the frigate IRIS Sabalan and corvette IRIS Ganaveh successfully launched missiles at sea targets. Analysts believe the drill is a reaction to recent Israeli drills that simulated attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities and a display of Tehran's capability to recover from wartime losses. Iran maintains two separate naval forces: the conventional Islamic Republic of Iran Navy (IRIN), which is a part of the traditional army, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGCN). While both are responsible for defending Iranian interests at sea, their missions, capabilities, and areas of operation differ, according to a Defence News analysis. The IRIN patrols the Gulf of Oman, the Indian Ocean, and the Caspian Sea, while the IRGCN controls the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGCN has a history of seizing Western vessels and shadowing U.S. warships during past tensions.

'Al-Ahrar Palestinian Movement' Calls on nation to shoulder its religious, moral responsibilities to protect Al-Aqsa mosque
Gaza – Saba: The Al-Ahrar Palestinian Movement today, Thursday, called on the Arab and Islamic nations to assume their religious, historical, and moral responsibilities in safeguarding the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque against the Zionist enemy's Judaization schemes targeting the holy city. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the movement extended a salute of pride and honor to the Palestinian people everywhere, especially in the Gaza Strip, who are enduring what it described as the most brutal genocide known to humanity, and to its valiant resistance, which has stood firm and continues to endure in the face of the criminal Zionist aggression and its Nazi practices, resisting with all available strength and determination. The movement declared: 'We have no option but resistance, steadfastness, and remaining rooted in this land.' It stressed that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque represents the core of the struggle with the criminal Zionist enemy and a purely religious symbol, over which the enemy has no legitimacy to claim even an inch. The movement also called on the Palestinian people in Quds, the occupied interior, and throughout the occupied West Bank to flock to Al-Aqsa, remain steadfast there, observe i'tikaf (spiritual retreat), and confront every attempt by Zionist extremists to storm or desecrate it, thwarting their malicious schemes.

UNRWA warns of grave threat to services in Gaza due to escalating Israeli military operations
Gaza – Saba: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned on Thursday that its services in Gaza City are under grave threat as a result of the intensification of Israeli military operations. The agency said in a post on the X platform, monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that tens of thousands of civilians in the Gaza Strip are living in UNRWA shelters and surrounding areas, where the agency provides them with health care, potable water, shelter, and sanitation services. UNRWA stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire to ensure the continued provision of essential assistance to the displaced and those in need. With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has continued to commit genocidal crimes in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, killing 62,192 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom were children and women, and injuring 157,114 others. This is a preliminary toll, with thousands of victims still buried under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulance and rescue crews.
