NSW fans captured in shameless mid-match as Isaah Yeo moment says it all after Origin loss

If one thing summed up the woeful performance of NSW in State of Origin 3, it was the sight of Blues fans streaming out of Accor Stadium with 20 minutes left in the game. Queensland pulled the Blues' pants down in the series decider, winning 24-12 in Sydney for a historic triumph.
It marks the first time in State of Origin history that a Maroons side has lost the first game at home before winning the second and third on the road. The NSW crowd was left shell-shocked on Wednesday night as Queensland raced out to a 20-0 half-time lead.
It created a hush around Accor Stadium that was more akin to a funeral than a State of Origin game, and it wasn't long before NSW fans had seen enough. Some were so fed-up that they left with a whopping 20 minutes left in the game, despite the Blues reducing the margin to 20-6.
By the time Isaah Yeo delivered his runner-up speech, there were more Queensland fans in the stadium and the NSW captain was booed on his home turf. Even the famous 'Blatchys Blues' section of the crowd was half-empty when the game hadn't yet finished, with just as many empty seats to be seen as blue wigs.

One person watching the game at their home at Olympic Park filmed hundreds of supporters streaming out of Accor and down the spiral ramp on the outside of the stadium. At that point there was only three minutes remaining, but it showed the level of disgust at the Blues' performance.
"Sitting at home as a non-NRL person and saw the crowd leaving the stadium thinking the game was over" they wrote. "Turned on the TV to see there's still minutes on the clock. Mustn't be the result those there wanted."
I sorry but even if the game does not go the way you would like why would you leave its SOO

One person disgraced themselves when they threw a beer can towards NSW utility Connor Watson. The Blues player was making his way to see family and friends in the stands when the projectile narrowly missed him and struck a bystander in the shoulder.

'I've had to go up there, my family and friends were up there,' Watson told . 'One of my mates is in a wheelchair, and he can't come down the stairs, so I have walked up there to go see him.
'As I'm walking, a can of Canadian Club lands right next to me and it's like someone had thrown it at me. If they did throw it... the words I want to use for it... I can't say right now.
'It's disappointing to be honest. I'm just going up to visit my family and friends, I shouldn't have to worry about someone throwing a can at me. If someone has done it, they should do something about it.'

Nebraska women's basketball alum Isabella Bourne shines in Asia Cup play

Nebraska women's basketball alum Isabella Bourne was a key piece in helping the Australian national team capture the FIBA Asia Cup title earlier this week. Bourne tallied eight points and three rebounds in the championship game, putting the final stamp on what was an impressive stretch of play. All told, she averaged 6.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and one steal per game during the tournament. Australia required a 5-0 record in the process. She was able to do it all for the Opals on Sunday. She had to three-point shots and was perfect from the free throw line. She had two assists, one steal, and a blocked shot in just over 11 minutes of play. This should come as no surprise to Huskers fans, as she displayed that type of consistency while in Lincoln. She scored 1,221 points during her tenure with the program and served as a three-time co-captain. She also proved to be effective on the boards, snagging 648 rebounds in four seasons. Yorkshire sign Australia all-rounder Jonassen

Yorkshire women have confirmed the signing of Australia all-rounder Jess Jonassen on a two-year deal for their inaugural Tier One season in 2026. The 32-year-old left-arm spinner has won five T20 World Cups and one One-Day World Cup and has also made six Test appearances. She helped Welsh Fire reach the final of The Hundred in 2024 in her only previous spell playing in Britain. "Signing a player of Jess's quality is a real testament to the enduring appeal of Yorkshire," head coach Richard Pyrah told the club website. "Jess is a cricketer with proven international pedigree who we know will bring experience and a lot of skill. "She is an immensely talented all-rounder and is exactly the kind of character we want in the team as we embark on Tier One next season."

Tottenham's Hayley Raso in talks over Benfica transfer

Tottenham Hotspur winger Hayley Raso is in talks over a move to Portuguese club Benfica. The 30-year-old Australia international is into the final year of her deal at Spurs and while an agreement is yet to be reached, talks between the clubs are ongoing. Raso joined Tottenham last summer on a two-year contract last summer from Real Madrid and scored on her debut, a four-goal victory over Crystal Palace in the Women's Super League (WSL). Advertisement However, Raso did not score in her 12 subsequent appearances for the club. Raso, who has 99 senior appearances for Australia, previously played for Canberra United and the Brisbane Roar in the W-League, NWSL duo Washington Spirit and the Portland Thorns, before spells in Europe with Everton, Manchester City and Madrid. New Spurs coach Martin Ho, who was appointed at the north London club earlier this month, now wants to reshape the squad and the potential exit of Raso would precede incomings ahead of the new WSL season. Spurs have made one signing this summer, with 19-year-old Japan defender Toko Koga joining from Feyenoord in July on a four-year deal. Spurs endured a difficult 2024-25 campaign under previous head coach Robert Vilahamn, including a 10-game winless run from January which saw them record an 11th-place WSL finish, just one place from the foot of the table and relegation.
