Bengali idol makers in Indore face Bajrang Dal's wrath over controversial Ganesha idols
At least three Bengali idol makers, identified as Chandra Nath Pal, Raju Pal and Ratan Lal Pal, had to face the anger of Bajrang Dal men led by Praveen Darekar and Lucky Raghuvanshi in Khajrana area on Sunday evening.
Angered over the Bengali idol makers creating idols showing the Hindu god of knowledge, wisdom and new beginnings holding holding female idols(looking like models), the Hindu right-winger men blackened the faces of three idol makers and then took them to Indore's Khajrana police station.
In a video pertaining to the incident, three Bengali idol makers can be seen standing with the Bajrang Dal men in the police station premises. In the 1.51 minutes video, faces of the three idol makers can be seen blackened.
The idol makers can be seen telling the Hindu outfit's men that the concerned Lord Ganesha idols were being made as per pictures given by the customers (some Ganesha Puja organisers) of Indore only.

New Delhi: The BJP on Thursday attacked the Congress, accusing it of conspiring to impose the "Hindu terrorism" label on the country, after all accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case were acquitted by a special NIA court. Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad called it a Congress-led conspiracy driven by vote-bank politics. "The Congress party's attempt to forcibly impose Hindu terrorism has been shattered today. The court has clearly stated there is no evidence against any of the accused," Prasad told reporters. He said Col Prasad Purohit, who was then engaged in counter-terror operations in Kashmir, was wrongly accused, and that Sadhvi Pragya Thakur was tortured to the point of immobility over allegations that the blast was carried out using her motorcycle. "This was purely a conspiracy by the Congress for vote-bank politics," he added. Prasad also blamed former Union home minister P Chidambaram for invoking the term "Saffron Terrorism" during the annual conference of DGPs and IGPs in August further said that former home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had also used the criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for allegedly saying Hindu terrorism was more dangerous than Lashkar-e-Taiba. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya demanded an unconditional apology from the Congress for "defaming Sanatana Dharma".

The blast, which occurred on September 29, 2008, around 9:25 pm in Malegaon, Maharashtra, killed six people and injured 101. The case has remained one of the most high-profile terror investigations in the country, marked by controversy, political debate, and has been under legal scrutiny. Advocate Shahid Nadeem who represented the victims said they will file an independent appeal before the Bombay High Court after reviewing the judgement. ".. the victims continue to suffer from the trauma they experience, and the special NIA court's decision to grant the accused the benefit of the doubt indicates the agency's inability to prose cute effectively," Nadeem said. Special Judge AK Lahoti, delivering the verdict, said the prosecution had 'failed to prove the case' and that the accused 'deserved the benefit of doubt.' 'There has been a grave incident against society,' the judge noted, 'but the court cannot convict merely on moral grounds.' While acquitting Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, the court held there was no credible evidence to establish that she owned the motorcycle allegedly used in the blast. It also noted that she had renounced material possessions and adopted a spiritual life two years before the incident. "The serial number of the chassis was not completely recovered by the forensic experts and, therefore, the prosecution failed to prove that the bike belonged to her," the court observed. On Purohit, the court said that it found no proof that he sourced RDX or assembled the explosive. The court also cleared the Hindu rightwing outfit Abhinav Bharat of any involvement, stating there was no evidence linking the group to terrorist activity. "There is no evidence that Abhinav Bharat was used for terror activity. Material witnesses have not supported the prosecution case. The prosecution has been unsuccessful in proving the meetings took place (for conspiracy)," the court said. The case was initially probed by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), which named 11 accused and three absconders under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), attributing the attack to Abhinav Bharat. In 2011, the probe was transferred to the NIA, which registered a fresh case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and MCOCA. During its investigation, the agency flagged serious discrepancies in the ATS's evidence, calling the earlier probe riddled with gaps and inconsistencies. A supplementary chargesheet filed by the NIA in 2016 named ten individuals, including Purohit and Major Ramesh Upadhyaya. However, charges against Sadhvi Pragya and three others were dropped for lack of evidence. Over the course of the trial, 323 prosecution witnesses and eight defence witnesses were examined. The court reviewed more than 10,800 documents and 400 seized articles. Nearly 40 prosecution witnesses turned hostile.

Assaulted By 'Rescuers': Girl Accompanied By Kerala Nuns Who Were Arrested
As protests continue against the arrest of two Kerala nuns on charges of alleged forceful conversion and trafficking, one of the three rescued girls has claimed that she was travelling with them on her own will and was assaulted by Bajrang Dal members. On July 25, nuns Preeti Mary and Vandana Francis, along with Sukaman Mandavi, were arrested by the Government Railway Police (GRP) at the Durg Railway Station in Chhattisgarhfollowing a complaint by a local Bajrang Dal functionary, who accused them of forcibly converting three girls from the state's tribal-dominated Narayanpur district and trafficking them. Speaking to NDTV, one of the girls, who has studied till Class 10, said she was travelling to Agra on her own will to work as a cook for a monthly salary of Rs 10,000. "We three (girls) were travelling together. Sukhman bhaiya was dropping us to Durg because we didn't know the way. the ticket collector fined us for not booking tickets. As we were leaving, Bajrang Dal members came and starting claiming that were were being taken forcibly," she said. She recounted that the Bajrang Dal workers assault Sukhman, her and coerced her into making a false statement against the accused. The girl claimed that Jyoti Sharma, a woman associated with a Hindutva outfit, told her she must say she was being taken against her will, or else her brother would be beaten. "They slapped me twice, and abused us," she claimed. The girl added that she has been following Christianity for 5-6 years and denied all allegations of trafficking or forced conversion. "My mother had a respiratory illness. We took her to faraway places for treatment but she didn't get better. When we took her to Jesus Christ, she was cured in a single day. All the allegations of human trafficking are false. We will give our statement and tell the truth," she said. Urging that the nuns and Sukhman be freed, the girl said her parents willingly sent her for the job to ensure that she becomes financially independent. Her mother echoed this and said that she was not informed about her daughter being caught at the railway station. Sharma claimed that she spoke to the girls, who told her they were being taken forcibly. "The boy who was caught has abandoned girls three times before. This clearly shows that religious conversion and human trafficking are happening in our Chhattisgarh. The girls themselves have told me this, and I have a recording of what they said," she added. Ravi Nigam, Durg division convenor of Bajrang Dal, said, "Even after the BJP government has come to power, the issue of religious conversion has not stopped. In fact, it is increasing. There is a youth who has been sending girls from here earlier as well." The nuns' arrest has triggered a political storm, with Members of Parliament staging protests within the premises seeking their release. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai has maintained that the arrests followed investigation, claiming the girls were promised nursing training and jobs as part of a trafficking and conversion scheme.
