Harrison Ford is ‘still happy' he made ‘Indiana Jones 5' despite underwhelming box office
This is especially true when it comes to the classic 'Indiana Jones' franchise, in which Ford starred as the titular character, including the franchise's fifth installment, 2023's 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.'
The movie grossed $60 million in the US and $70 million internationally, bringing the fifth and final installment of the storied franchise's global box office to $130 million on its 3-day opening – decidedly lackluster numbers at the box office, especially considering the film cost nearly $300 million to make.
Ford shrugged it off this week, telling WSJ Magazine in a new interview published Wednesday simply, 'S**t happens.'
'I was really the one who felt there was another story to tell,' he added. 'When (Indy) had suffered the consequences of the life that he had to live, I wanted one more chance to pick him up and shake the dust off his ass and stick him out there, bereft of some of his vigor, to see what happened.'
At the end of the day, Ford said, 'I'm still happy I made that movie.'
Ford first portrayed Jones in 1981's 'Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark,' and has reprised his role as the whip-cracking archeology professor-adventurer-hero in four sequels total since then. Along with his role of Han Solo in the 'Star Wars' franchise, Indiana Jones is a character forever linked to the Hollywood leading man and one that helped launch his stellar career.
In June, Ford told CNN's Chris Wallace in an interview that he wanted to give fans, and the character, an ending that felt conclusive.
'I wanted it to be character driven and I wanted it to confront the question of age straight on – not to hide my age, but to take advantage of it in the telling of the story,' Ford, now 82, said, adding he felt 'very strongly' that they achieved that goal.
After playing the character for 40 years, Ford admitted that saying goodbye to Indy was the right move. 'It's time for me to grow up,' he joked.
On the big screen, the 'Shrinking' star will next be seen in 'Captain America: Brave New World' later this month.

AHSOKA's Ezra Bridger Actor Shows Off Lightsaber Skills in New Video — GeekTyrant
Eman Esfandi is proving he's more than ready to wield a lightsaber again in Ahsoka Season 2. The actor, who brought the live-action version of Ezra Bridger to life in the first season, recently shared a video on social media showcasing his impressive lightsaber moves—and it has fans hyped for what's coming next. Esfandi posted the clip on Instagram with the caption: "This little light(saber) of mine, I'm gonna let it shine." Following an outpouring of excitement from fans, he added: "Y'all got me hyped up thank you for the love, may the force be with you." Filming for Ahsoka season 2 is already underway, something Esfandi himself confirmed back in March when he reposted an Instagram story from the set. More recently, co-star Ivanna Sakhno revealed the series is 'in the middle of filming,' teasing that the new season will be 'bigger' and 'even more in-depth.' The second season of Ahsoka was announced in January 2024, but cameras didn't start rolling until March 2025. Story details are still under wraps, but fans can expect some major payoffs after that season 1 cliffhanger. We last saw Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) stranded after helping Ezra escape Peridea, while Grand Admiral Thrawn ( Lars Mikkelsen) began his ominous return to power. If that's not enough to get you excited, Hayden Christensen is confirmed to return as Anakin Skywalker after his brief but memorable appearance in season 1. Christensen even dropped out of a recent Comic-Con appearance due to overnight shoots, which could hint at a bigger role for the Jedi legend this time around. On top of that, Admiral Ackbar is set to appear and will apparently go head-to-head with Thrawn, which sounds like an epic showdown in the making. Ahsoka Season 2 doesn't have a release date yet.

TikTok pulls video of Huda Kattan after beauty mogul spreads conspiracy theories
TikTok this week removed an inflammatory anti-Israel video posted by celebrity beauty mogul and influencer Huda Kattan. Kattan, the founder and face of the billion-dollar brand Huda Beauty, shared a video to her more than 11 million followers on TikTok, accusing Israel of orchestrating World War I, World War II, the September 11 terrorist attacks and Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7. World War I (1914-1918) and World War II (1939-1945) both occurred before the State of Israel was established in 1948. 'All of the conspiracy theories coming out and a lot of evidence behind them — that Israel has been behind World War I, World War II, September 11, October 7 — they allowed all of this stuff to happen. Is this crazy?' Kattan said on camera in her since-removed TikTok post, which included other unfounded claims about Israel. 'Like, I had a feeling — I was like, 'Are they behind every world war?' Yes.' A representative for TikTok confirmed to CNN that it removed Kattan's video for violating its community guidelines. 'In a global community, it is natural for people to have different opinions, but we seek to operate on a shared set of facts and reality,' TikTok's community guidelines state. 'We do not allow misinformation that may cause significant harm to individuals or society, regardless of intent.' Kattan's agency did not respond to CNN's request for comment. A manager listed on public databases as a representative for Kattan was contacted by CNN and said in an email that they no longer represent her. Kattan's video has spurred calls across social media and among Jewish groups for retailers like Sephora to cut ties with her popular beauty brand, Huda Beauty, which was valued at $1.2 billion in 2017 and brings in roughly $200 million in annual sales, according to Forbes. A representative for Sephora has not responded to CNN's request for comment. This is not the first time the beauty influencer has faced calls for boycotts due to her public commentary after October 7. Kattan, whose company has over 57 million followers on Instagram, has been an outspoken critic of Israel and a staunch supporter of Palestinians in Gaza. Within a week of Hamas attacking Israel on October 7, 2023, an Israeli Instagram user threatened to boycott her products, to which Kattan replied: 'I don't want blood money.' In response to that comment, a petition was launched and received over 30,000 signatures, calling on Sephora to remove Huda Beauty products from its stores. Kattan's most recent TikTok video drew swift backlash from Jewish groups. 'Huda Kattan built a brand around beauty — but these antisemitic conspiracy theories are nothing short of ugly hate,' said Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League. 'Spreading vile myths about Jews to millions of followers isn't just reckless — it's dangerous.' The American Jewish Committee posted Kattan's since-removed TikTok video on social media, writing, 'Huda Kattan, founder of Huda Beauty, is using her massive platform to spread vile antisemitic conspiracy theories — accusing Jews of harvesting the organs of Palestinians, causing 9/11, and running global pedophile rings. This isn't 'criticism of Israel.' It's centuries-old hate, repackaged and broadcast to millions.' 'Retailers have a choice,' said Ari Hoffnung, managing director of the Jewish nonprofit, JLens. 'They can continue to platform a brand whose founder promotes hate-fueled conspiracy theories, or they can take a stand against antisemitism.' Forbes included Kattan on their 2023 list of America's Richest Self-Made Women and on their list of Most Powerful Women in Business in 2024.
