Key Ceremony At Ayodhya Ram Temple Concludes, Yogi Adityanath Attends

A spiritually charged atmosphere enveloped Ayodhya on Thursday as the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony of Shri Ram Darbar and other deities was completed with great devotion in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The elaborate ritual, held on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra, marked the culmination of a three-day religious ceremony held within the Ram Janmabhoomi complex.
The sound of Vedic mantras, conch shells, and Acharyas' chants reverberated across the holy city, lending an air of divine solemnity to the event.
The final day began with the worship of invoked deities at the Yagya Mandap at 6.30 a.m., followed by a havan at 9 a.m.
The highlight was the use of modern audio-visual technology that connected the entire area during the pran prathishtha. Vedic tradition and modern technology blended for the consecration of idols in different shrines at the same muhurta.
Deities consecrated included Shri Ram Darbar, Sheshavatar, Shiva (northeast corner), Ganesh Ji (southeast), Hanuman Ji (south), Surya Dev (southwest), Maa Bhagwati (northwest), and Annapurna Mata (north).
The rituals concluded with a special Aarti and Bhandara (community feast), attended by a large gathering of saints, Vedic scholars, officials from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, and thousands of devotees from India and abroad.
Adding a personal dimension to the occasion, the event coincided with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's birthday, for which he sought blessings from Lord Shri Ram.
The day also marked the Trayodashi Janmotsav (birth anniversary) of the Saryu River, amplifying the spiritual significance.
Several members of the saint community hailed the Chief Minister for restoring the ancient glory of Ram Nagari (Ayodhya) through the construction of the grand temple and the comprehensive development of the city.
Over the past eight years, Ayodhya has undergone a massive transformation with development projects worth over Rs 32,000 crore, including upgrades in roads, railways, an international airport, riverfront beautification, and enhanced tourism infrastructure.
Landmark projects like the Ram Katha Park, rejuvenation of the Saryu ghats, and the development of a modern temple complex have reshaped Ayodhya's identity and placed it firmly on the global map.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the grand event, the administration made elaborate security arrangements. The temple and surrounding areas were under multi-layered surveillance, with deployments from the ATS, CRPF, PAC, and local police. SP Security said the site was under impenetrable security cover, aided by modern surveillance systems.

A day after green event, LMC red-faced
Half a dozen of the saplings planted by urban development minister AK Sharma and other officials at Laxman Mela Ground disappeared on Friday, just a day after the plantation drive, raising serious questions over the Lucknow Municipal Corporation's (LMC) planning and execution. The plantation was part of a major event on World Environment Day, Ganga Dussehra, and the birthday of chief minister Yogi Adityanath, on Thursday. Officials had planted over 30 saplings at the site. Of the 10 saplings planted in a row -- each protected by tree guards -- by minister Sharma, mayor Sushma Kharakwal and municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar, only four remained by Friday morning. A ground report by HT on Friday morning revealed six empty pits, while the saplings were missing. However, LMC claimed that the plants were 'shifted' to another location as a large number of people visit Laxman Mela Ground during festivals. Despite the presence of top officials and the appointment of additional municipal commissioner Arun Kumar Gupta as nodal officer, LMC failed to identify a suitable location for the plantation drive. Officials acknowledged that the site is actually used for idol immersion during major festivals, and the area turned into a dumping ground just hours after the Thursday event. However, soon after the issue came to light, the LMC staff started planting the saplings again in what appeared to be a damage control effort. Criticising LMC's 'casual approach', environmentalists said inability to safeguard saplings planted in the presence of a minister would dent the credibility of regular plantation drives. Prabhunath Rai, president of Bhojpuri Samaj, claimed the saplings were removed by LMC officials themselves after realising that the site was wrongly selected. 'This is pure negligence,' Rai said. Mayor Sushma Kharakwal directed additional municipal corporation Arun Kumar Gupta to prepare and submit a detailed report. Meanwhile, LMC claimed to have planted over 1,000 saplings across the city as part of the same initiative, including those of rudraksha, banyan, amla, and kaner. The campaign also featured activities under 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' and 'Plogging for Plastic' campaigns. A human chain was also formed for environment conservation at the Gomti riverfront.

Reviving disappearing rivers in every district needed: U.P. CM
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday emphasised the urgent need to revive one disappearing river in every district and turn plantation into a mass movement to combat climate change. On the extreme weather events, he said these are clear consequences of ecological imbalance caused by human activities. Speaking after inaugurating Gorakhpur's second Kalyan Mandapam (community hall) at Surajkund Dham, Yogi called for large-scale water conservation efforts and widespread plantation along riverbanks and catchment areas. 'Rivers are like arteries of the nation's body. If they vanish, water crises arise,' the CM said, recalling how the Gaurdhoiya stream, now being revived, was once a river but became a drain due to encroachments. He sought people's support for the 'One Tree in Mother's Name' campaign. Yogi stressed the importance of reconnecting with nature and involving communities in restoring ecological balance. 'The effects of climate change—untimely rainfall, drought, and ecosystem degradation—are all outcomes of human negligence. It is time for us to take responsibility and act collectively,' he said. In his address, the CM also highlighted the role of infrastructure aligned with public needs. He said development should serve society's requirements and facilitate solutions for common people. 'Infrastructure should not only reflect growth but also resolve the issues of the masses,' the CM added. The newly inaugurated Kalyan Mandap, built by the Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation, spans 35,500 square feet. It has been constructed at a cost of ₹4.52 crore. Yogi encouraged residents to install CCTV cameras outside their homes and use technology for public safety. Calling for active civic engagement, he urged citizens and corporators to form mohalla committees to oversee cleanliness and promote plantation drives. These community groups, he said, will play a crucial role in fostering a healthier and greener environment. 'Government schemes can only succeed when people participate wholeheartedly,' Yogi said. On the occasion, the CM also announced that the 75-bedded working women's hostel being built by Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation will be named after 18th-century queen of Indore Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar, an icon of women empowerment and devotion to culture and religion. 'The dedication coincides with Holkar's 300th birth anniversary and honours her contributions to empowering women, farmers, and artisans, as well as restoring several iconic temples across India,' he said. The CM also highlighted key development projects underway in Gorakhpur, stating that the city now enjoys four-lane connectivity from all directions along with completed inner and outer ring roads. Janata Darshan held On the second day of his visit, Yogi held a Janata Darshan at Gorakhnath temple where he heard the grievances of over 200 citizens. The CM directed officials to respond swiftly and sensitively to each complaint, ensuring timely and quality resolutions. Later, he offered prayers at the Gorakhnath temple and fed jaggery to cattle at the temple's Gaushala. 'Complete AYUSH univ work by June 22' Inspecting the ongoing construction of Uttar Pradesh's first AYUSH University in Gorakhpur, the CM expressed his strong displeasure over the delay in its completion. He has set June 22 as the final deadline for the completion of all pending work.
