
Motorcyclist in critical condition as man arrested in connection with Waterford crash
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision involving a car and a motorcycle which happened at Monvoy in Tramore at approximately 7.40pm on Wednesday.
The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 50s, was conveyed to University Hospital Waterford, where his current condition is described as critical. No other injuries were reported.
The road is currently closed pending a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions have been put in place.
The driver of the car involved, a man in his 60s, was arrested at the scene. Gardaí say the man is now detained at a Garda Station in the south east under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward.
Anyone who was in the Monvoy Cross area between 7.30pm and 7.50pm and who may have witnessed the incident is being asked to contact investigating gardaí.
Any road users with camera footage who were travelling in this vicinity at the time have been requested to make this footage available.
