KUWAIT CITY, June 8: Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, confirmed that flight GF213, operating from Bahrain to Kuwait on June 8, 2025, experienced a disturbance involving a passenger, prompting the airline to implement security and precautionary measures in line with established protocols, according to the Bahrain News Agency.
The airline stated that the situation was managed in full coordination with the relevant authorities in Kuwait. Upon landing at Kuwait International Airport, the passenger in question was detained by airport police, and all other passengers disembarked safely without incident.
Gulf Air expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and emphasized that the safety of its passengers and crew remains its highest priority. Abu Al-Qasim Al-Dibaji, Secretary-General of the International Organization for Islamic Fiqh and Imam of Zain Al-Abidin Mosque in Salmiya, noted that his experience this year stood out among the more than twenty times he has performed the pilgrimage. 'This was the most seamless Hajj I've experienced. The services, especially those provided by the Kuwaiti Hajj campaigns, were outstanding,' he said, adding that Kuwaiti pilgrims continue to serve as role models for ethical conduct and religious observance. Dr. Faisal Al-Enezi also confirmed the positive experience, citing excellent coordination and a lack of congestion. 'Everything was organized to perfection, and we are truly grateful to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its efforts,' he said. 'May God reward them for all they have done.'

Kuwait airport braces for 236K Eid travelers
KUWAIT CITY, June 5: Kuwait International Airport will cater to the first batch of pilgrims returning from the Holy Land on June 9, while the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) announced that the airport will operate 1,737 flights during the Eid Al-Adha holiday. In a press statement, the DGCA revealed that the number of departing and arriving passengers during the holiday is expected to reach 236,000. It indicated that the most preferred destinations for travelers include Dubai, Cairo, Jeddah, Doha and Istanbul; given the increased demand for these destinations during the holiday season. It emphasized the importance of arriving at the airport well in advance of the flight, and ensuring that all required travel documents are complete and valid; such as passports, confirmed flight and hotel reservations, and obtaining an entry visa to the intended destination, if required. It also affirmed its commitment to ensure smooth flow of travel and provide the best services to travelers, in coordination with the entities operating at the airport.
