
Houses of 2 local LeT demolished in south Kashmir
Srinagar, Apr 25 (UNI) The houses of two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, who were believed to be behind the deadly Pahalgam attack on tourists, have been demolished in south Kashmir, official sources and local residents said on Friday.
They said the houses of Asif Sheikh, of the Monaghama area of Tral Pulwama, and Adil Hussain Thokar from Anantnag were blasted during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.
However, a senior police officer said a house in Tral was badly damaged due to the presence of some explosive material present.
The police officer said in Tral, during the searches by security forces, some suspicious objects were observed.
'Security forces sensed danger and swiftly retracted for safety, but there was a huge blast in which the house got badly damaged. It seems that some suspicious explosive material was present,' they said.
Police on Thursday had released sketches of three attackers and identified them as Adil Hussain Thokar from Anantnag and two Pakistanis, Ali Bahi alias Talha Bahi and Hashim Musa alias Suleman. Police also announced a reward of Rs 20 lakh for each of the three attackers.
In one of the deadliest terror attacks in J&K, 25 tourists and a local resident were shot dead on Tuesday at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam.

UAE deports 245 crore drug trafficking accused
Mumbai: The CBI, through the Interpol channel, has got drug smuggler Tahir Salim Dola deported from the UAE on Friday in connection with a case of trafficking 126 kg narcotics worth Rs 245 crore being investigated by the crime branch. Dola was wanted in a Mumbai police case registered last year, with a Red Notice issued against him through Interpol. The CBI, collaborating with Interpol and the NCB of Abu Dhabi, geo-located Dola in the UAE through close monitoring and initiated legal proceedings for his deportation, the agency said in a press release. Dola operated a synthetic drug manufacturing factory in Sangli district of Maharashtra. During the investigation, police found that Dola handled the trafficking operation from abroad. In Jan, the Abu Dhabi anti-drug unit arrested Dola in the UAE, and subsequently, Mumbai police, through the MHA, sent a deportation request to the UAE. Earlier, Mumbai police arrested a hawala operator from Kalbadevi along with 11 others, including key accused Praveen Shinde, the financier of the drug syndicate in the case. Suspects rob senior citizens of gold worth 3L in Nashik
Nashik: Gold ornaments worth Rs 2.7 lakh were stolen in two separate incidents involving senior citizens. According to the Panchavati police, a person was allegedly deceived by two suspects who claimed to be CBI officers. Since they wanted the victim to be safe, they asked him to pack his valuables in a handkerchief and keep it in his own pocket. The police said, "The victim, who was passing by the Dattamandir at 10:15 am on Thursday, was approached by two people who posed as CBI officers. They informed him that thieves were out in the area and were threatening senior citizens with knives and stealing their valuables." UP: 2 accused of gang rape of minor girl in Muzaffarnagar sentenced to life

Special public prosecutor Vikrant Rathi said that Special Judge Alka Bharti of the POCSO Court convicted two accused, Ravinder and Kapil, of raping a 16-year-old girl in the Shahpur police station area of Muzaffarnagar district two years ago. The judge sentenced them to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each on the two accused. According to the police, the incident took place on September 18, 2023, when the girl went out of her house to wash clothes.
