Inter Milan are in the final of the Champions League for the second time in three seasons.
The Nerazzurri's last run to the final did perhaps come against a relatively beatable pathway through the knockout rounds. They took on the likes of Porto, Benfica, and AC Milan.
However, Inter put in an excellent display in the final against Manchester City, even in defeat.
And now the Nerazzurri are here once again. They face Paris Saint-Germain in the final in Munich.
Inter have had to beat teams like Bayern Munich and Barcelona to get here.
Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri secured memorable wins against the likes of Arsenal, RB Leipzig, and Monaco in the league phase of the competition.

There is now little doubt that this is the level at which Inter belong.

Picture: Ex-Man United star Scott McTominay shows his class with heartfelt tribute to retiring Jonny Evans
Picture: Ex-Man United star Scott McTominay shows his class with heartfelt tribute to retiring Jonny Evans Former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay sent a touching message to Jonny Evans as he retires from professional football. Evans decided to finally call it a day, following the expiry of his contract with United. Advertisement He won three Premier League titles, the Champions League, FA Cup and two League Cups with United. Evans also won the FA Cup with Leicester City. The 37-year-old won 107 caps for Northern Ireland and is widely considered one of his country's greatest ever players. Evans enjoyed two spells at Old Trafford, having come through the club's esteemed youth system. He lined up for the Red Devils' senior team between 2006 to 2015 before he left and joined West Brom. After West Brom, Evans signed for Leicester and then returned to United in 2023. He initially went back to United on a short-term deal during their pre-season build-up and in the process, earned himself a one-year deal before he signed a fresh extension, which expired this summer. Advertisement Evans played for the last time on Friday, during United's 3-1 comeback win over Hong Kong. McTominay likely got to know Evans better during the latter's second stint at United, as they shared the dressing room for a year before McTominay made his move to Napoli. Earlier on Sunday, McTominay wrote on Instagram, 'You are one of the best players, characters and professionals I have had the pleasure to play alongside.' 'Very fortunate to share some amazing memories with you.' 'An incredible career and I wish you nothing but the best in your retirement. (Other than when we play golf).' It's evident that Evans left a lasting impression on McTominay. Feature image Francesco Pecoraro via Getty Images Follow us on Bluesky: @

Joe Montemurro set to be unveiled as new Matildas coach by Football Australia

Photograph: Kirsty Wigglesworth/AP Football Australia is set to announce Joe Montemurro as new Matildas coach, ending 10 months of uncertainty with the appointment of the widely respected Melbourne-born women's football specialist ahead of next year's home Asian Cup. The 55-year-old has won trophies with Arsenal, Juventus and Lyon in a distinguished career in Europe, having broken through in the professional coaching ranks with stints at Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City in the W-League more than a decade ago. Advertisement Related: Matildas' European conquerors inspire new generation in Argentina win Montemurro was the best-credentialed Australian candidate for the role vacated by Swede Tony Gustavasson last year, and FA finally secured him after Lyon won the league title in his first season with the French powerhouse. Montemurro had signed at Lyon for two years at the start of last season, and his early exit needed to be negotiated for him to take control of the Matildas. His Lyon side – featuring Matildas fullback Ellie Carpenter – won the league without losing a match, but his impressive campaign was tarnished by a semi-final loss in the Champions League to his former club Arsenal, including Australian Steph Catley, Caitlin Foord and Kyra Cooney-Cross. Advertisement The French club were leading 2-1 from the first leg in London, but lost 4-1 at home in a result described by Montemurro as 'a little bit unexplainable'. The Australian coach worked with Catley and Foord during in his time at Arsenal. The appointment of Montemurro ends almost a year of uncertainty following the departure of Gustavsson, whose final game in charge of the Matildas was a 2-1 defeat to the USA at the Paris Olympics that ended Australia's disappointing campaign. Related: Kahli Johnson header is fitting marker for Tom Sermanni in Matildas win The Swede's contract expired and both parties agreed to end the relationship. Under Gustavsson, Australia reached the semi-finals at the 2023 home World Cup in a tournament that energised women's football in Australia and made the Matildas one of the country's most-loved sporting teams. Advertisement But a downturn in form at the end of Gustavsson's tenure has not been reversed, and mixed results under interim coach Tom Sermanni have left the Matildas ranked 16th in the world, their equal lowest. The Asian Cup gets underway in March 2026, leaving Montemurro with only a short period to affect the side. Injured captain Sam Kerr is yet to return for Chelsea, almost 18 months since she suffered an ACL injury, and playmaker Mary Fowler is in doubt for the Asian Cup with her own knee injury.
