Isolated afternoon showers and storms, again

Yahooa day ago

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Warm and humid conditions continue this week. Expect highs near 90 this afternoon. Relief from the steamy setting should take place in the late afternoon/ early evening in the form of a shower or storm.
Rain chances are about the same, if not slightly lower today than the past two afternoons. Just be mindful that any storm that does develop could produce a brief moment of heavy rain.
Locally we start off dry, but heavy rain and flooding is taking place to our west in SE TX. These storms will impact western LA later today. Isolated showers are beginning to develop along the Louisiana coast.
Father's day is this Sunday and rain showers, along with a few thunderstorms are still expected in the afternoon. Sunday morning will not be completely dry across the area, but much lower chances for rain occur before noon. Sunday afternoon and evening is looking pretty soggy across town.

Friday, June 13th Forecast: Rain today, sunshine tomorrow

Happy Friday the 13th! Fortunately, the weather today is more soggy than spooky, with no severe storms expected. Widespread light rain kicked off early this morning and will stick around for much of the day. While the rain risk lingers, coverage will become more scattered by the afternoon and taper off completely later this evening. Here in Springfield, we can add another half inch of rain to the nearly 4 inches already recorded this month. With soils already saturated, localized flooding remains a concern. Looking ahead, Saturday brings a much sunnier outlook. Overnight rainfall may lead to areas of dense fog early in the day, but skies will quickly clear. Expect highs in the mid-80s with a gentle breeze out of the west. It'll be a great day to head to the lake, go floating or fishing, or fire up the grill for an early Father's Day celebration. Sunday's forecast is a bit more uncertain. Storms are expected to develop in Kansas during the morning, and some of that activity may spill into our region, especially to the west. As we move into next week, a classic summer pattern takes hold: warm, humid days with the daily chance for a pop-up shower or storm. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Cooler weather for the end of the week before summer-like weather returns

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The forecast for this weekend is looking better and better which is great news if you have any Father's Day plans or Graduation parties! Today it will be noticeably cooler with temperatures into the low to mid 70s with mostly cloudy skies. Dew points will also be in the 40 to 50 degree range which means that any showers that do move in remain light and hit or miss in nature. Most areas stay dry and mostly cloudy for our Friday. A system skirts to our south later tonight into Saturday morning, most of us stay dry places south of Jackson and could see a few showers and maybe a rumble of thunder overnight into Saturday morning. Temperatures fall back into the low to mid-50s area-wide tonight. Tomorrow we still see the partly to mostly cloudy skies with temperatures starting their warming trend. Daytime highs for Saturday remain in the mid-70s with skies clearing by the afternoon and evening. Father's Day is when we see temperatures really start to warm up, our dew points also jump into the 50s to 60s so we will start feeling like summer into the upcoming work week. A mix of clouds and sunshine is in the forecast for Sunday with temperatures in the low 80s. We get into the mid-80s by the middle of the week with heat and humidity and the chance for showers and storms by Tuesday and Wednesday. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Pinpoint Weather: Daily rain chances through next week

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Daily shower and storm chances are expected across Southwest and Central Virginia through next week. Friday will be warm and muggy. Temperatures will rise into the upper 70s and 80s under variably cloudy skies. A nearly stationary front will set up over the Mid-Atlantic, allowing scattered showers and storms to develop. While a few morning showers cannot be ruled out, rain coverage will be more widespread during the afternoon and evening. Isolated strong storms may develop. Repeated rounds of heavy rainfall could lead to flooding concerns. The unsettled pattern will persist into the weekend. Similar to Friday, there's a greater chance for scattered showers and storms during the afternoon and evening hours each day. You may want a 'Plan B' if you have any plans outdoors this Father's Day. Highs for Saturday and Sunday will be in the upper 70s and 80s. While stronger storms may produce gusty winds, the main storm concern is heavy rainfall. Overall, rainfall totals will range from 0.75 – 2.00″ over the next three days, although some thunderstorms may produce locally higher amounts. Most storms will be slow-moving and could train on each other, so flash flooding is a concern. Daily rain chances will linger into the upcoming week. Warm, moist air will continue to push through Southwest and Central Virginia; scattered showers and storms will have the chance to form during the afternoon and evening hours. Highs will be in the upper 70s and 80s on Monday and Tuesday. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.
