WEST VIRGINIA (WVNS) — The Greenbrier River recently won the title of USA Today's 'Best River for Tubing' in the United States!
The Shenandoah River and the Potomac River, specifically in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, also floated their way into the Top-10!
Voting ended on Monday, June 2, 2025, before the winners were announced on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
The oldest river in North America flows through West Virginia
The river, filled with different sections of Class I and Class II rapids, has multiple access points and flows 162 miles, according to The West Virginia Encyclopedia. On top of tubing, visitors can enjoy kayaking, bass fishing, and the 78-mile-long Greenbrier River Trail. **Note: The southern terminus at Crazy Cook Monument may no longer be accessible due to it becoming a National Defense Area. NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A total of 3,100 miles. That's how long some people travel to conquer one of the longest trails in America. Whether hikers are just starting their trek or celebrating the end of it, the Continental Divide Trail brings many travelers to New Mexico. The Continental Divide National Scenic Trail was officially established by Congress in 1978 and traverses five states, situated between Mexico and Canada. The hike is not an easy one, but 150 to 400 hikers will attempt an end-to-end trek each year, according to the Continental Divide Trail Coalition. Some others choose to complete portions of the trail, which also runs through Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana. Focusing on New Mexico, the CDT spans about 820 miles in New Mexico from the southern terminus at Crazy Cook Monument in the bootheel of New Mexico to Cumbres Pass in the northern part of the state, next to Colorado. Hikers will pass through four of New Mexico's national forests: Gila, Cibola, Santa Fe, and Carson, and the ancestral lands of numerous Native American tribes. The Continental Divide Trail Coalition recommends completing the New Mexico portion of the trail during late September and October when monsoon season is over and the weather is cooler. State Department issues ‘do not travel' advisory for Iraq
(NewsNation) — The State Department issued a 'do not travel' warning for Iraq on Thursday, telling Americans not to travel to the country due to threats of violence. The U.S. pulled some troops and nonessential embassy personnel out of Iraq on Wednesday, citing tension in the region. There are signs Israel is preparing to launch an attack on Iran, which could result in retaliatory attacks on U.S. installations in the region. Trump launches web site for 'gold card' The advisory warned of potential terrorist attacks, kidnappings, armed conflict, civil unrest and aerial bombardment in Iraq. Americans were also warned not to travel through Iraq to engage in armed conflict in Syria. U.S. government officials have also been prohibited from using the airport in Baghdad. The State Department warned that citizens who choose to travel to Iraq cannot rely on government assistance. Suggestions for those who decide to go to the country anyway include having a personal security plan, establishing a last will and testament and providing DNA samples to a medical provider in case it is needed for identification. Fox - 35 Orlando Disneyland is offering more detail about MrBeast's viral date after YouTube's most popular creator said he paid $500,000 to have the entire theme park to himself. "Disney won't just hand over their keys to anyone, but for this once-in-a-lifetime date, we were given the entire park for one night," MrBeast, the social media persona of Jimmy Donaldson, says in the video with more than 66 million views. For the video, Donaldson took this fiancée Thea Booysen on six dates ranging from $1 to $500,000, concluding with what he described as a private evening at Disneyland. MrBeast's trip was held after hours, park says MrBeast and his team visited Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California "a couple of weeks ago" for an after-hours experience at the park, a Disney spokesperson told USA TODAY on June 11. While MrBeast and his crew didn't have to face any lines or crowds, the park didn't change their normal operating hours to accommodate the influencer, either. Variations of this experience are available to all customers, including Disney After Hours, in which customers can purchase tickets for three extended hours after the park's traditional closing time. The park also offers Disney's Fair Tale Weddings & Honeymoons, which allows couples and their family to rent various venues, including The Sleeping Beauty Castle Forecourt and Small World Mall. One upcoming after-hours event is Disneyland's "Pride Nite" celebration from June 16-18. You may not get the park to yourself, but the park says guests can expect shorter wait times and special entertainment experiences. One celebrity actually did rent out the park MrBeast isn't the first and likely won't be the last celebrity to make a solo appearance at Disneyland. On Feb. 27, 1992, actress Elizabeth Taylor rented out all of Disneyland to celebrate her 60th birthday. The entire park shut down for the birthday bash, which required extra security.
