Simon Cowell admits big worry about son Eric and says he's 'petrified' of one thing

Simon Cowell has opened up about being a father and how precious his 11-year-old son Eric is to him in a rare interview with Jeff Brazier. Simon Cowell has candidly discussed fatherhood in an interview with This Morning's Jeff Brazier. During the touching interview ahead of Father's Day this weekend, the 65-year-old spoke about how becoming a dad changed him while also voicing his concerns for his 11-year-old son. ‌ Simon welcomed his only child Eric in February 2014 with partner Lauren Silverman. The music mogul mostly keeps his family life private but Britain's Got Talent fans were treated to an unexpected onscreen appearance of Erin during an epic Golden Buzzer moment during the latest series of the show where Simon let his son press the famous buzzer. ‌ During the 2024 series, he also revealed his son was a keen drummer and now he has shared even more rare information about his boy. Speaking to father of two Jeff, Simon shared how much his son means to him. He said: "Honestly, everything. Out of everything I've ever done in my life, this is the best thing to ever happen to me. The very first time I saw his scan, I was literally obsessed." However, Simon confessed there were some down sides to parenthood as he shared his concerns for his son growing up in the modern world, the Mirror reports. He said: 'We're getting to a point where the word phone comes up. 'Oh god, here we go". ‌ The 65-year-old previously revealed he doesn't have his own personal mobile phone device. He continued: 'I'm very worried Jeff, about how much kids can see at a certain age. I grew up…Which was learning things at the right time, the right age, etcetera etcetera. I just would be petrified of him having access to anything, that would really worry me. ‌ 'I think schools put too much pressure on kids, which is, you're getting up at seven in the morning, you're coming home say at five, six in the afternoon, evening and then you've got to do two hours of homework. "It's like, they're ten, eleven, twelve years old. It's too much. I would say to any teacher watching, ban homework, you'll have happier kids and they'll do better.' Despite his demeanour softening over the years, Simon has made a name for being the mean judge, starting from his stint in 2001 on Pop Idol. ‌ When asked by Jeff what he'd do if his son wanted to get into the entertainment industry, Simon insisted he would be "absolutely honest" with him. He laughed: 'I've thought about this. What if he said to me, 'I want to be a singer' and he couldn't sing, I would be absolutely honest with him. If he couldn't, I would say, 'You know what, be a drummer'. "He actually can play the drums well but he's quite shy. You know, I walk and I hear him, and he stops. I say, 'Why are you stopping?' and he says, 'Well, I'm a bit embarrassed' and I say, 'Well don't be, you're really good.'

Love Island 'eyeing up' bombshell who once enjoyed night out with Jack Grealish

Love Island bosses are reportedly looking to sign up a Devon model to appear on the ITV2 show as a bombshell this series Love Island has reportedly signed up a model who enjoyed a night out with Jack Grealish to enter the villa as a bombshell this series. Emma Silverton is a model from Devon and was once pictured leaving celebrity-favourite hotspot, Chiltern Firehouse, with Manchester City footballer Jack and his friend Jaydon Gibbs. When Jack, who welcomed his first child with partner Sasha Attwood, was pictured leaving the London venue, he exclaimed that "she's not with me!" and got into his vehicle alone. Model Emma, who is said to have previously been a hostess at the venue, was then spotted sharing a ride with Jaydon. ‌ ‌ Emma has worked with modelling agencies in New York and Sydney and even collaborated with luxury brands like Burberry and Issey Miyake. In new reports, it has been claimed ITV bosses are hoping to sign her up as a bombshell for the current series of Love Island. A source claimed Emma is "an absolute showstopper" before calling her "lots of fun". Speaking to The Sun, they claimed: "As always, bombshells are picked as the action unfolds to ensure the most tempting Islanders are chosen to suit each storyline." The Mirror have reached out to ITV for comment. Meanwhile, there was a big decision to make for two Islanders on Love Island on Thursday night. A cliffhanger brought an abrupt end to a rather brutal recoupling. There were some surprises and some new couples, before a final blow was dealt for more than one contestant. ‌ It was the girls' turn to pick a boy to couple up with, after the arrival of two bombshells. As proceedings got underway, many of the couples switched up with new pairings revealed, and some expected couples not making the cut. After all the girls chose their men, there were still two boys left not in a couple. In a huge twist, it was announced the boys - Blu and Shea - had to come to an agreement with each other on who should leave the villa. Rather awkwardly both men declared they were going nowhere, refusing to sacrifice their place on the show. Blu refused to leave, with Shea agreeing he was going nowhere too. ‌ The Islanders watched on awkwardly as both men refused to back down. In true Love Island fashion, the episode was cut short with a classic cliffhanger.
