This came during the minister's meeting with Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Toshiko Abe to discuss enhancing cooperation on joint educational projects and future prospects for cooperation.
There are currently 55 Egyptian-Japanese schools, and 15 new schools will open in September, Abdel Latif said.
He praised bilateral relations, which 'represent a unique model of strategic cooperation based on a shared vision, especially in the education sector.'
He also commended the effective partnership in technical education through support for the establishment and operation of applied technology schools, in cooperation with leading Japanese industrial institutions such as Toyota, Casio, and Yamaha.
This partnership represents a successful model for linking education to the actual labor market, the minister said.
He noted that there are 90 frameworks for these schools, and that there are 1,270 schools that the education ministry seeks to cooperate with the Japanese side to develop.
The minister emphasized his aspiration for further future constructive cooperation, whether through expanding existing programs or creating new areas of cooperation that contribute to enhancing the quality of education.
For her part, the Japanese minister expressed her gratitude for the invitation from minister Abdel Latif to visit Egypt and praised the positive results of his visit to Japan in February.
The Japanese-Egyptian relations represent a distinguished model of international cooperation based on deep understanding and a shared desire to advance education, according to her.
She expressed her great pride in the partnership with Egypt, especially in the field of developing pre-university education, which is considered one of the basic pillars of human development.
She praised the tangible progress in areas of cooperation between the two countries, especially the Egyptian-Japanese schools, which represent a successful experience in applying the Japanese education philosophy, especially Tokkatsu activities, which aim to develop children's personality and promote the values of discipline and teamwork.
She expressed her aspiration to share experiences with Egypt to expand this experience throughout Africa. (MENA)

PMs of Egypt, Jordan witness signing of 10 cooperation documents
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and his Jordanian counterpart Jafar Hassan witnessed the signing ceremony of 10 documents aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation. This came at the end of the 33rd session of the Egyptian-Jordanian Higher Joint Committee, held on Tuesday in the Jordanian capital, Amman. During the ceremony, an executive program to activate the memorandum of understanding between the Egyptian and Jordanian ministries of endowments (awqaf) was signed. The program was signed by Rania Al-Mashat, Egyptian Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, and Yarub al Qudah, Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply. Al-Mashat and al Qudah also inked an executive program between the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones of Egypt and the Jordan Free and Development Zones Group for the year 2025/2026. Egypt and Jordan also signed memorandums of understanding in the fields of consumer protection and local development. The tourism ministries of both sides also signed a cooperation agreement in the field of protecting and recovering cultural property and combating the illicit trafficking of antiquities. Moreover, an executive program for scientific cooperation was signed between Egypt's National Planning Institute and Jordan's Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation. Egypt and Jordan also signed an executive program for cooperation in the field of youth for the years 2025 to 2028. The finance ministries of both countries signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in government procurement. A memorandum of understanding to launch a high-level dialogue between the Ministries of Finance of Egypt and Jordan was also signed.

FM, Saudi counterpart affirm outright rejection of Israel's plan to expand aggression against Gaza Strip
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan affirmed their shared firm rejection of Israeli Ministerial Council's decision to draw up a plan to reoccupy the Gaza Strip and expand ongoing aggression, in an attempt to entrench illegal occupation of Palestinian territories, continue genocide against defenseless Palestinian people, undermine their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state, in blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law. During a phone call between the two ministers on Wednesday August 13,2025, as part of regular consultation and coordination between Egypt and Saudi Arabia and in follow-up to regional files – foremost the situation in Gaza – the two sides took up closed bilateral relations, praising steadily developing ties at all levels. The ministers affirmed their keenness on pressing ahead with efforts meant to enhance joint cooperation in a way that meets aspirations of the two brotherly peoples for achieving comprehensive and sustainable development. They also discussed political and security developments in the region and several pressing regional issues, including the catastrophic situation in Gaza amid the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression. The Egyptian foreign minister outlined Egypt's ongoing efforts, in coordination with the US and Qatar to reach a deal ensuring release of hostages and a number of Palestinian prisoners, ending the bloodshed of Palestinians and guaranteeing full and unconditional access for humanitarian aid. They also agreed on the need for an immediate ceasefire agreement and unhindered access of urgent humanitarian, relief and medical aid, as well as an immediate end to the policy of starvation and systematic killing fueling conflict and exacerbating extremism. Meantime, the two ministers stressed the need to protect civilians, enable Palestinian people to exercise their inherent right to self-determination and to establish their independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with Al-Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital. The call also touched on the overall regional situation, with the two sides exchanging views on ways to address current challenges and ongoing crises in Sudan, Syria and Lebanon. They agreed to maintain close coordination, emphasizing the importance of joint Arab coordination on these issues to support pillars of regional security and stability.
