Josie Gibson's ITV show crisis as Grand Designs style makeover at £1.1m countryside home could be ruled too big… by 1%

She says the 1980's four-bedroom pad is in "dire need" of refurbishment and is planning a glamourous Grand Designs-style makeover.
The huge revamp is to be featured in a new seven-part ITV series called Josie Gibson's Big Country Build, and is due to be aired next year.
But the show could be thrown into crisis, because the 2,238 sq.ft property lies on green belt land. Consequently, she is only allowed to increase the overall volume by a third - and her current plans are for a 34% rise, putting planning permission at risk of being refused.
There have been no objections from neighbours but conservationists have raised fears over light pollution from the proposed extra glazing.
In a letter to the local council, a Preservation Trust said: "An increase in light spill can be detrimental to the character of the national landscape.
"Given this, the officer/decision-maker(s) must be assured that any light spill will not detract from the special qualities of the designated areas.
"Of course, increases in artificial light can impact on ecology and this should be considered by the local planning authority in its determination of the application."
But in a letter of support, a neighbour said: "The development looks very good. I support it, with one request.
"We have bedroom windows that look towards the proposed new structure. Please can there be no outdoor lights that stay on late into the night. We have a beautiful dark sky, and it would be lovely to keep it that way."
Josie, 40, shot to fame 15 years ago when she won Big Brother after getting into a relationship with housemate John James Parton.
The couple later appeared in a fly-on-the-wall show following their lives together called Josie and John James: What Happened Next, before later splitting up.
Josie carved out a career as a TV personality, appearing in her own three-part reality TV series There's Something About Josie, in 2011. She joined ITV's This Morning as a competition announcer in 2019 and became a presenter in 2021.
The former I'm a Celebrity star bought her new house in November and has applied for planning permission for a ground floor gym and rumpus room and a one-bedroom garage annexe with a balcony.
She also plans to keep sheep and bees at the 3.4-acre property which has an orchard, paddock and ornamental pond.
In an Instagram post, she said: "My dream is to build a house as eco and luxurious as possible where you are immersed in the setting of nature.
"I want bees, birds, badgers to all live in harmony though I'm becoming increasingly concerned that my harmonious dream is slowly turning into a construction nightmare."
Officials at the local council are expected to make a decision later this month.

Cringe! Why millennials became so uncool
Millennials are used to criticism from older generations. Scolded for frittering their money on flat whites and short-haul flights. Seen as self-absorbed for their obsession with Instagram. But now they are facing criticism from a new corner – Gen Z. But what is behind this intergenerational mocking? Lucy Hough asks the journalist Chloë Hamilton whether it is simply the length of millennials' socks and their use of emojis that generation Z find ridiculous – or could it be a clash born out of the difficult set of circumstances that have shaped the two generations? Lucy and Chloë speak to the comedian Will Owen and the writer Emma Loffhagen to find out.

Judi Dench, 90, is set to front her own TV show where she enjoys drinks with longtime pal Kenneth Branagh - after scaling back acting due to sight loss
Judi Dench has landed what may be considered showbiz's dream job, as she's set to appear in a Sky Arts special where she enjoys drinks with one of her celebrity pals. In Drinks With Dame Judi, the Oscar winner, 90, will open up her stunning country home to her longtime friend and collaborator Kenneth Branagh, 64. While the programme has been filmed as a one-off, to hit screens later this year, Sky have shared hopes that there could be more episodes in the future. The show will be 'peppered with archive and anecdote,' as both Judi and Kenneth look back at the lighter, and more serious, moments of their illustrious careers. Phil Edgar-Jones, executive director of unscripted, said: 'We are starting a series, I hope, with Judi Dench. It was going to be called Champagne with Judi but Compliance said no. 'The first one she is going to do with Kenneth Branagh.' While best known for her stage work and Hollywood roles, including playing M in eight James Bond films, and her Oscar-winning turn in Shakespeare In Love, Judi has featured in a string of documentaries in recent years. These shows include a 2017 documentary about her passion for trees, and in 2019 she travelled to Asia for the ITV series Judi Dench's Wild Borneo Adventure. In recent years, Judi has been forced to scale back her acting roles after struggling with sight loss. The veteran actress first revealed in 2012 she is suffering with macular degeneration in her eyes, which can cause permanent and rapid central vision loss, and is the number one cause of vision loss in people over 50. Earlier this year, Judi revealed that her sight has now deteriorated to a point where she needs the help of a guide when she leaves the house. During a 2021 event for the London-based Vision Foundation, Judi opened up about how she struggles to read scripts due to her rapidly fading vision. She said: 'You find a way of just getting about and getting over the things that you find very difficult. 'I've had to find another way of learning lines and things, which is having great friends of mine repeat them to me over and over and over again. 'So I have to learn through repetition, and I just hope that people won't notice too much if all the lines are completely hopeless!' Judi also told The Graham Norton Show about how she battles to memorise lines as she used to rely on her photographic memory. She added: 'I need to find a machine that not only teaches me my lines but also tells me where they appear on the page. 'I used to find it very easy to learn lines and remember them. I could do the whole of Twelfth Night right now.' The veteran actress has not acted on the big screen since 2022's Allelujah, limiting her screen appearances in the past few years to documentaries, where she appeared as herself. And in May, she admitted that she has no future projects in the pipeline while struggling with her ailing sight. Asked if she has any plans for more acting jobs, Judi told a journalist at the Chelsea Flower show: 'No, no, I can't even see!' But towards the end of 2022, she had refused to give up and insisted she wouldn't be retiring anytime soon - despite admitting the condition even then was 'bad'.
