(Video) TXT Fans Lose It Over Soobin & Hueningkai's Pepero Challenge ‘Kiss'
The game may seem innocent enough, but fans are always quick to react to this kind of skinship between members. TOMORROW X TOGETHER (투모로우바이투게더) are the latest idol group to take on the challenge, and the video has caused a meltdown across social media. Watch:
Over the weekend, SBSKPOP X Inkigayo shared a video featuring members of TXT taking part in various games and challenges during the latest episode of their variety segment. One of the highlights was the famous Pepero Challenge. Leader Soobin (수빈) and maknae Hueningkai (휴닝카이) teamed up for the game, and the result sent fans into a frenzy.
Before starting, the 22-year-old asked his older member for consent, warning that he was planning to go 'all in' to complete the challenge. Sure enough, the singer did just that. As seen in the screenshots above, Hueningkai tilted his head while gently holding Soobin's as he ate the Pepero biscuit from his end, continuing until their lips appeared to touch, leaving just a 1cm piece of the treat. The challenge continued with the other members also taking part – Beomgyu (범규) was paired with Taehyun (태현), while Hueningkai had to do the challenge again, this time with Yeonjun (최연준).
Soobin and Hueningkai's Pepero Challenge instantly went viral online, with MOAs (TXT fans) and K-pop enthusiasts alike expressing both amusement and surprise. Many were excited by the two members taking the challenge to the extreme, while others shared clips of other idols who have also gone viral for participating in this intimate game. Fans also defended TXT against 'queerbaiting' allegations, emphasising that the members are simply very comfortable with each other and that their music sales continue to thrive.

During the trial last month, the interpreter testified through a live video link that Kamimura had invited her to a bathroom elsewhere. After she dismissed the request and told him she had a boyfriend, Kamimura continued to touch her thigh, she said. The defense argued the interpreter exaggerated her claims and the alleged bathroom invitation might not have been based on improper motives. Judge Peter Yu handed down the conviction Wednesday, saying Kamimura touched the intrepreter in a caressing nature that implicitly carried a sexual undertone and had indecent intent. After the verdict was announced, the singer looked relieved and hugged his courtroom translator. "The defendant's acts are obviously disrespectful toward women,' Yu said. "Such behaviour should be condemned.' In pleading for a lesser penalty, the defense said Kamimura previously had a promising future and paid a heavy price. After the verdict was announced, a few of Kamimura's fans wept in the courtroom. But Kamimura looked relieved and hugged his courtroom translator when the judge issued a fine of HK$15,000 (about US$1,900) and no prison term. The maximum penalty for the charge is 10 years of imprisonment. The singer's supporters, including some from Japan and mainland China, formed long lines inside the court building to secure a seat in the main courtroom before the hearing. After the hearing, they waited outside to see Kamimura, who did not speak before leaving in a car. Others from mainland China who attended said they were not fans but wanted to learn more about the case, especially after seeing criticism of the female interpreter online. Kamimura, 26, is a former member of the boy band ONE N'ONLY, which expelled him shortly after the allegation. Fans queued to get into court for hours before the hearing, and some broke down in tears upon learning Kamimura had been convicted. The court heard Kamimura touched the woman's thighs multiple times despite her objections, and invited her to go to the bathroom with him. Magistrate Peter Yu found he had assaulted her, adding his behaviour 'clearly shows disrespect for women'. The incident took place in March during a celebratory dinner, after a fan meet for which the woman had been working as an interpreter for Kamimura and others. The Japanese star was fined HK$15,000 (US$1,900). Kamimura, who is also known as an actor in the Japanese drama 'Our Youth', hugged his court translator upon hearing he would be fined without facing jail time, media reports said. Kamimura got 'what he deserved', Yu said, adding that 'had the victim not refused to remain silent and courageously come forward, she would have suffered an unpleasant experience in silence'. But ardent fans inside and outside the court were in tears. Chen, a 30-year-old screenwriter and fan who gave only her last name, said she had come from northern China to watch the court session.
