IndigoGoat3056: We live in a borderless world, and migrant workers who are legally in Malaysia are entitled to certain protections under our Federal Constitution.
Article 5 guarantees the right to life and personal liberty to all persons, not just citizens. Article 6 prohibits forced labour regardless of nationality. Article 10 permits non-citizens to join trade unions, recognising their role in the economy.
Article 155 further provides that citizens of Commonwealth countries are entitled to the same rights and privileges that Malaysian citizens enjoy in those countries.
Therefore, if a migrant is here legally and abides by our laws, they should not be denied the right to earn a living, including through business.
What we need is a clear, fair, and humane system that allows them to contribute meaningfully while maintaining the rule of law.
Migrant workers come here to earn a living, not to steal. If you intend to shut down or cancel their businesses, first, make sure whether they are in this country legally.
If they are here legally, then they have the right to conduct business. If they don't have a licence, then just issue them one. If they entered the country without permission, then send them back with the cooperation of their respective embassies.
Migrant workers aren't a burden - they're part of the reason your food is cheap, your roads are built, and your economy runs.
They contribute to GDP, pay levies, and do jobs locals won't. Know the facts before running your mouth.

Official figures are around 1.3 million. Millions of undocumented workers face daily harassment from police and immigration. Common sense and application of the principles of humanity would say to announce a general amnesty (remember always, forget never, the undocumented are working somewhere, despite the huge risks they face, as there are jobs).
Has the government not understood this simple reality? Legalise all and simultaneously ensure the corruption that allows them to come in is stopped.
Anyone want proof of the bribes being paid daily? Just chat with the staff at any of the malls where all Malaysians shop, they will tell you the reality of their lives, the requirement that they always need to have some cash in their pockets, that when they are stopped (by authorities), they will empty their pockets.

HoyoHoyo: Hello, Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming, the Ali Baba system exists due to inequality and favouritism. They are in petty trading, licensing, and permits. It's a component of cheating and corrupt practices over the last 60 years. Migrants, instead of non-Malays, are renting them today.
The 40 thieves (of the Ali Baba story) are the main concern. They have stolen and robbed billions through systemic corruption at every level of governance. Border control let in the migrants. Customs let out dutiable goods from our ports.

Saitama: How does the enforcement agency prove that the owner rents out their license to a migrant? There must be a money trail. It is all in cash terms.
The migrant always claims that they are working for the boss. There is no way that Malaysian enforcement agencies have any proof to arrest these workers.
Shibboleth: Malaysian traders learn the 'rent-seeking' from Umno. Taxi licences, APs, and hawker or shop licences. The license holders are at home watching Astro and Netflix.
The government should learn from DAP's Lim Guan Eng (although loud-mouthed and aggressive). Shortly after he took over as chief minister in Penang, he instructed the district office in Batu Maung to issue aqua-fishing licenses directly to fisherfolk instead of going through Umno-controlled koperasi, the rent seekers.
One courageous change of policy. Today, Penang is the second biggest fish producer in the country.
Jimmy Page: My brother Nga has shamefully deflected responsibility. Instead of addressing systemic failures that enable license misuse or the reasons why desperate locals resort to renting permits, he moralises and blames struggling citizens, weaponising the Rukun Negara.
His 'appreciation' demand is tone-deaf, ignoring economic realities, while his ministry's enforcement clearly hasn't solved the core issue. Victim-blaming isn't leadership.
No 3S Please: According to Nga, between 2023 and this month, local authorities nationwide have carried out 3,703 operations against business premises controlled by migrants and issued over 14,800 compounds.
This is pathetic. This number is not enough even for a month. What are the local councils and immigration doing? Get out of your air-conditioned room and carry out daily checks.

Narathiwat council uncovers Malaysian women using fake documents to remarry in Thailand
KOTA BARU: The Narathiwat Islamic Religious Council has uncovered several cases involving Malaysian women attempting to deceive its religious officers by submitting forged divorce or death certificates to remarry new Malaysian partners in southern Thailand. Council deputy president Abdul Aziz Che Mamat said such cases have been detected over the past few years, with most of the individuals involved hailing from Kelantan. "We have recorded numerous instances where Malaysian women submitted falsified documents claiming they were either divorced or widowed to facilitate remarriage in southern Thailand," he said. According to Abdul Aziz, some women went as far as altering names and dates on official documents, including tampering with divorce certificates, to bypass the marriage vetting process. He stressed that the council treats such matters seriously and will immediately halt the solemnisation process upon detecting any fraudulent activity. "There were cases where my officers, unaware of the deception, allowed the marriage to proceed. "However, the registration was later revoked after the actual husband came forward to confirm that he was still alive and they were not divorced," he added. Abdul Aziz warned that such dishonest practices could jeopardise the legal status and future of children born from these marriages — particularly in matters relating to identity documentation, citizenship, and inheritance. "These children could face complications when registering their births, enrolling in school, or proving their legitimacy later in life," he said. In response, the council has tightened procedures for cross-border marriages, especially those involving foreign nationals. He noted that recent efforts to curb illegal and questionable marriages have yielded positive results. "Cases involving syndicate-driven marriages and underage unions have significantly declined thanks to improved cooperation and greater awareness among couples following our outreach and educational briefings," he said. He added that previously, the council dealt with numerous cases involving syndicates, underage girls, and pregnant women.

Suddenly, the word on Sabahans' lips

With the imminent announcement of election by CM Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji, politicians are saying a lot things, some are sensible and thoughtful. Much are meaningless and self-seeking. Promises of all sorts are being dished out, many of which, they cannot fulfil or have no intention to keep. 'Sabah for Sabahans' is being bandied around like nasi lemak for breakfast. It is on the lips of many well-known and aspiring leaders. Why? Because 'Sabah for Sabahans' has become the Number One wish list of Sabahans. It is the Sabahans' greatest awakening and desire. Not surprising. For decades, Sabahans have seen our resources being drained out of Sabah, from No.2 richest state to No. 2 poorest state, infrastructure have deteriorated. To be realistic for 'Sabah for Sabahans' to really benefit Sabahans, leaders must go beyond sloganeering. They must elucidate their versions of 'Sabah for Sabahans,' their policies, implementations with achievement of targets and dates. Without a concrete framework, their slogans are mere ballons of air. 'Sabah for Sabahans' represents a deep desire among Sabahans for greater self-determination, autonomy, federal development fundings and the prioritisation of Sabahan interests within the Malaysian federation. All Sabahans should evaluate political parties and leaders on their commitments and track records on 'Sabah for Sabahans.' My 'Sabah for Sabahans' Wish List. Here is my wish list to achieve a meaningful 'Sabah for Sabahans,' [1] Fulfilment of Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63): [i] 40% Net Revenue Entitlement. This is an absolute must. It is our constitutional right. The Federal Government has procrastinated for 47 years. [ii] Return of Rights and Autonomy: Especially greater control over resources [like oil and gas beyond the current 5% royalty], much greater approval authority on investment, trade, education, and health, equitable say in fiscal and monetary policies. [iii] Equal Partnership with Malaya and Sarawak: Sabah MUST DEMAND to be treated as an 1/3 equal partner in the federation, with one-third representation in all federal agencies, Government-Linked Companies (GLCs), and Government-Linked Investment Companies (GLICs). Sabah is not a subordinate state. [2] Governance and Political Stability for Sabah: [i] Sabahan Leaders for 'Sabah for Sabahans': Genuine Sabahan leaders must manage Sabah without undue interference/influence from federal leaders or Malayan parties. Sabah based parties must genuinely champion Sabah's interests. [ii] Unified Sabahan Political Front: With the benefit of history, it is crystal clear after 40 years of economic deprivation that without political unity, Sabah will continue to be an 'economic and political pawn state', with no control of our economic/political destiny. Sabah has gone down this path in the last 40 years. Time for our leaders to unite and chart a new path for ourselves. [iii] Accountability of Local Leaders: Ensuring that Sabahan leaders are accountable to Sabah voters and do not prioritise outsiders' interests over the welfare of Sabahans. [3] Priority of Economic Development and Resource for Sabahans: [i] Prioritisation of Sabah's Economy: There must be policies that utilise Sabah's rich natural resources (oil, gas, timber) primarily for the development and benefit of Sabahans. [ii] Bridging Development Gaps: Serious efforts must be made to address the historical economic disparities and infrastructure deficits in Sabah compared to Peninsular Malaysia. [iii] Priority for Local Industry and Entrepreneurship: Urgent priority for the growth of Sabah-owned industries and entrepreneurship to strengthen Sabahan share of the economy. Sabahan businessmen must be given preference in JVs by all GLCs for property and resource development. [4] Protection of Sabah's Precious Racial/Religious Harmony Identity. [i] Cultural and Religious Diversity: Sabah leaders must address any attempt at imposing ideologies or policies from Malaya that clash with Sabah's diverse multiracial and multireligious cultural landscape. Sabahans must reject the destructive politics of race and religion from Malaya. [ii] Native Rights: There must be adequate representation and protection of the interests and rights of Sabah's bumiputras at the national level. [iii] Addressing Undocumented Immigrants: Sabahan leaders must have political courage to resolve the long-standing issue of undocumented immigrants, which has plagued Sabah with socio-economic and security problems. For effective control, all immigrants must be identified and registered by the Sabah Government. [5] Good Governance, Transparency and Accountability: Sabah leaders must practice transparent and accountable governance especially in GLCs and award of contracts. Without these, implementation of 'Sabah for Sabahans' will be rendered impossible and meaningless. Development of Sabahan Businessmen/Investors, Young Business Leaders, and Professionals. [1] Sabah politicians MUST STOP these very bad practices: [i] Give Sabahan Businessmen same or better treatments as Foreign Investors. [i] With each change of government or CM, Sabahans leaders 'kill' or put down successful businessmen from the previous administration. Very few businessmen can survive and prosper in the long term. This must stop. Sabah must have successful businessmen for long term. [ii] Sabah leaders have a great preference for GLCs to JV with outsiders even though these outsiders have little creditability. All the failed JV projects in KK by GLCs is testimony to this fact. Must cease discrimination against Sabahan businessmen/investors. [iii] Sabah leaders MUST accord EQUAL ATTENTION attentions to Sabahan businessmen/investors and outsiders. Hajiji's government have implemented many of these 'Sabah for Sabahans' features. These must continue. The essence of 'Sabah for Sabahans' 'Sabah for Sabahans' is the innate desire of all Sabahans for Sabah to become a strong, self-reliant state within Malaysia, with its own destiny primarily shaped by Sabahans and leaders, while upholding our unique identity and securing our rightful share of economic benefits and autonomy that have been enshrined in MA63.
