Brit dad found dead in Benidorm after 600ft fall 'was likely murdered', says cops
Nathan Osman was found dead at the bottom of cliff in Benidorm on a holiday with friends - and Spanish police now say he was 'likely' murdered.
A British dad was found dead at the bottom of a cliff in Benidorm while on his first lads' holiday was "likely murdered", says police. While looking for his hotel, the day after arriving on the break with pals, Nathan Osman fell 600 feet down a cliff.
Officers first assumed the 30-year-old suffered a terrible accident or had possibly even taken his own life. However, his loved-ones stressed that the dad-of-four rarely drank, never took drugs, and enjoyed life.
Through their own detective work and compiling evidence pointing towards a potential murder, they have now managed to get the Spanish authorities to reconsider his death last September as foul play, reports the Mirror.
The father of four, from Pontypridd, died in Benidorm on his first holiday abroad with friends on the morning of Saturday, September 28, 2024, leaving his family and friends heartbroken.
Nathan had told his brother the night before heading to the Spanish resort that he was excited about his upcoming holiday.
He also appeared composed in every piece of CCTV footage his family managed to gather of him. Nathan's body was discovered 50 minutes on foot from where he was last seen.
According to his family, the sole route to the clifftop would have been near impossible to walk up in the dark, suggesting he was likely taken there.
They also discovered an attempt to use his bank card just hours after his death at a shop a short drive away. When his body was found, all his valuables, apart from his damaged phone, were gone.
After presenting their evidence to officers, Spanish authorities now share their view that Nathan was likely killed.
The Olive Press reported: 'The judge and prosecutor agreed to reopen the case and to investigate Nathan's death as a potential homicide. With foul play being determined due to the factors raised.'
Nathan left behind a daughter and three sons. An online fundraiser created in September to repatriate his body said they were 'heartbroken after hearing this tragic news'.
The page said: ' Nathan was the smile that would light up the room, and to anyone that had the pleasure of meeting him, he would tell you that his four children were his whole world. A dedicated father who provided his children with the best life.'
Last October, Mr Osman's family paid tribute to him. They said: "Nathan was the most loyal person, a faultless son, a caring brother, a fun loving uncle and a true friend to anyone that was lucky enough to know him.
"His smile and his big brown eyes were infectious. He was the kindest of souls and his legacy will live on through his four beautiful children. Nathan enjoyed spending mornings at the beach with his children and partner.
"They loved exploring, being outdoors and going for hikes, always having a great time and making beautiful memories. Nathan was totally devoted to his family, and as long as his family were happy, he was too."
Benidorm Police have been approached for comment. The murder investigation continues.

A dramatic cat and mouse game followed yesterday with tear gas being fired over Gravelines beach in an attempt to keep migrants away from the sea. But they failed to stop a nearby dinghy from picking up the migrants and it left for British shores with mostly men on board. It comes after official figures showed that more than 919 people crossed the Channel in small boats on Friday on 14 dinghies - averaging around 66 people per boat. It has taken the provisional annual total to 16,183, which is 42 per cent higher than the same point last year and 79 per cent up on the same date in 2023. The highest daily number so far this year was 1,195 on May 31.

Man killed in four-storey blaze with 40 people evacuated from their homes
A man has died and an eight-year-old girl has been left injured after a four-storey building caught on fire. The fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday morning on Scott Street, with a man pronounced dead at the scene. An eight-year-old girl and a 27-year-old man were also taken to hospital. Two firefighters also sustained minor injuries and other blocks of flats nearby were evacuated. Deputy Assistant Chief Officer Andy Girrity of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: 'On arrival, firefighters found the roof of a four-storey residential building well alight. 'Initially, three appliances were mobilised, but due to the severity of the blaze and structural collapses, a total of twelve appliances were involved at the height of the incident. 'Five casualties, including one firefighter injured by falling masonry, were passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service. 'The incident has now been scaled back, and two appliances and one height vehicle remain on scene to dampen down hot spots.' Police Scotland Chief Superintendent Nicola Russel said: 'Our thoughts are with all those affected by this incident. 'Investigations are at a very early stage to establish the full circumstances of what has happened. 'We are conducting a joint investigation with Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.'
