Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 5 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered prayers at the revered Hanuman Garhi Mandir in Ayodhya on Thursday. The CM's visit to the ancient holy city is part of his schedule to attend the 'Pran-Pratishtha' ceremony of Ram Darbar in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.
In a post on X, CM Yogi said he is fortunate to witness the 'Pran Pratishtha' program. CM called it an expression of 'Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat' (One India Excellent India).
CM Yogi wrote, 'Today, in the holy birthplace of Lord Shri Ram, Ayodhya Dham, I am getting the great fortune of becoming a witness to the program organised for the Pran-Pratishtha of the holy idols of gods in the eight temples including Shri Ram Darbar on the first floor of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. This auspicious occasion is a new expression of 'Ek Bharat-Shrestha Bharat'. Victory to Siyavar Shri Ramachandra!'
June 5 marks the third day of the 'Pran Pratishtha' program, which began on June 3. Sharing the updates on X, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust wrote, 'On the first day of the Pran Pratishtha ceremonies, various Vedic rituals were ceremoniously initiated in the Yagyashala for the Pratishtha of Shri Ram Darbar on the first floor of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, as well as for the other deities in the surrounding Ashta Devalayas.
'The rituals continued on the second day of the event. Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra wrote on X, 'On the second day of the Pran Pratishtha anushthan, various adhivas were performed, and the utsav vigrahas were taken on a Parikrama of the mandir premises. In addition to the Yajna Mandap, rituals were also conducted in the devalayas where the Pran Pratishtha will be carried out.'
'The utsav vigrahas did parikrama of the mandir complex, following which rituals like Shayya Nivas and Prasada Vastu Puja were conducted. Later, a havan and aarti were performed in the Yagyashala. The Annadhivasa, Ghritadhivasa, Jaladhivasa, Pushpa Nivasa, Sharkaradhivasa, and Shayya Adhivasa were all performed sequentially,' the trust added.
Meanwhile, CM Yogi is to attend Saryu Jayanti Janmotsav in Ayodhya on June 5, said Mahant Rajkumar Das Maharaj, head of Shriramvallabhkunj. The event will be organised by the Anjaneya Sewa Trust. ‘Still shaking': Canada journalist alleges assault by Khalistanis, shares ordeal

Investigative journalist Mocha Bezirgan says he was 'surrounded and threatened' by a group of Khalistan supporters and briefly had his phone snatched while filming their weekend rally in downtown Vancouver. 'It just happened two hours ago and I'm still shaking,' Bezirgan told news agency ANI in a phone interview. 'They acted like thugs - crowding in on me, grabbing my phone, trying to stop me recording.' Bezirgan, who has gained a following for documenting Khalistani demonstrations across Canada, the United States, Britain and New Zealand, said an agitator who has previously harassed him online led Sunday's confrontation. 'All of a sudden I had two or three people up in my face. I started a backup recording on my phone; that's when one of them yanked it out of my hand,' he said. Vancouver police officers nearby intervened, ordering the man to back off. Bezirgan later filed a statement; no arrests were immediately announced. The journalist added that the same individual continued shadowing him for several blocks, including onto a SkyTrain platform. 'I had nowhere to go. It was clear intimidation,' he said, calling for the man - a British national, according to Bezirgan - to be deported. Sunday's altercation comes amid a string of attacks on reporters covering the separatist movement. In October 2024, Canadian MP Chandra Arya warned Parliament of 'growing violence faced by journalists who report on Khalistani extremism,' citing assaults on broadcasters Rishi Nagar, Sameer Kaushal and others, and noting that Bezirgan himself had received death threats

‘Was surrounded by Khalistanis, they behaved like thugs…': Canadian journalist Mocha Bezirgan recounts physical assault

Canadian investigative journalist Mocha Bezirgan on Sunday said that he was physically assaulted by Khalistanis in Vancouver, where he was 'surrounded and threatened'. Speaking to ANI, Bezirgan said, 'It just happened 2 hours ago and I am still shaking. I was surrounded by multiple Khalistanis who acted like thugs. They surrounded me, threatened me, and got physical with me, and they grabbed my phone out of my hand.' 'This was done by an individual who has been harassing me for a long time online using dehumanising language against me. I have been covering Khalistan protests in Canada, UK, US, New Zealand,' Bezirgan added. 'My only goal is to do independent journalism and record and report what's going on and because I'm editorially independent, this frustrates some people. They want to influence me, they want to buy me. He is not even a Canadian citizen. He is from the UK. I was just there reporting on the event. Khalistanis gathered to honour their so-called martyrs, including the assassins of Indira Gandhi,' ANI quoted him as saying. (This is a breaking story. Please check back for details)

Varanasi couple celebrates son's birthday aboard first Vande Bharat to Kashmir, sparks backlash: ‘No public decency'

A couple from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, celebrated their son's sixth birthday aboard Kashmir's first-ever Vande Bharat Express train on its inaugural run. Rakesh and Neha Jaiswal chose to celebrate the special day for their son, Moksh, while traveling through one of India's most historic rail routes, ANI reported. However, the incident did not sit well with social media users. The celebration took place as the train passed over the newly inaugurated Anji Khad Bridge, the tallest railway bridge in India. On June 6, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first Vande Bharat Express to Kashmir, flagging it off from Jammu after the successful completion of the 272-km Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link project. On the same day, another Vande Bharat service between Srinagar and Katra was also launched. Speaking to ANI, Rakesh said, 'It was a coincidence that it was our son's birthday the same day PM Modi was going to flag off this train. We thought we should celebrate our son's birthday on the first journey of this train so that his birthday becomes memorable for him.' Neha said, 'This is the best gift for our son… We made this plan because of PM Modi.' The viral video captures the celebration inside the train, young Moksh surrounded by his parents, cutting a birthday cake while fellow passengers join in with claps and cheers. Keep the train clean, enjoy the journey instead of using it as your private property for doing party.' Another user wrote, 'There are solid reasons for which we get hate from other nations.' 'No public decency,' a third user reacted. 'Lighting matches inside a train??? Shouldn't they be punished too for that grave fault?' a fourth user commented.
