‘Maa' Becomes Kajol's 8th Biggest Hit, but 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'Shall Remains Unbeaten at 7
Kajol
, one of Bollywood's most iconic actresses, continues to charm audiences with her diverse range of performances. Over the years, she has amassed a long list of hit films, many of which have enjoyed tremendous box-office success.
Recently, her movie Maa has been making waves and has officially become her 8th highest-grossing film at the box office.

With a total collection of Rs 35.64 crore after 18 days, Maa has proven to be a decent hit, but despite this success, it's unlikely to replace the evergreen classic Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (Rs 46.88 crore) as Kajol's 7th biggest hit.
Maa's Box Office Journey:
The box-office journey of Maa began with a promising opening. On Day 1 (Friday), the film earnedRs 4.65 crore, setting a decent pace.
The movie's numbers continued to grow steadily over the weekend, reaching Rs 6 crore on Saturday and Rs 7 crore on Sunday. This early momentum indicated that the film could enjoy a healthy run in theatres.
However, like most films, Maa saw a significant decline starting on Monday, when collections fell by a dramatic 64.29% toRs 2.5 crore. This was followed by more fluctuations throughout the week. Despite these dips, the film's performance remained somewhat consistent in the first week, ending withRs 26.5 crore in its first week—a solid total for a mid-range film.

Week 2: A Sharp Drop in Numbers:
The second week of Maa was less promising, with a steep 70.57% decline in collections compared to the first week. Day 8 (Friday) brought in Rs 1 crore, a 33.33% drop from the previous day. Despite a minor recovery on Saturday, with collections rising to Rs 1.75 crore (+75%) and Rs 2.35 crore ( + 34 %)the film struggled to hold onto its audience in the week. By Day 14 (Thursday), collections had fallen to Rs 50 lakh , signaling a waning interest from moviegoers.
Week 3 and Beyond:
As of Day 18, Maa has grossed Rs 35.64 crore. However, the film has shown very little potential for growth in its third week.Over the four days of Week , the film has earned only Rs 1.34 crore and going by the upcoming release like Saiyaara and existing films like Sitaare Zameen Par, , Jurassic Park: Rebirth, Maa doesnt seem to have long legs left at the box office, , further solidifying that it will fall short of surpassing Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Why Maa Won't Surpass Kuch Kuch Hota Hai:
Despite Maa's respectable position at the 8th spot in Kajol's career earnings, replacing Kuch Kuch Hota Hai starring
Shah Rukh Khan
,
Rani Mukerji
and Salman Khan- directed by
Karan Johar
as her 7th biggest hit seems unlikely. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai has firmly etched itself into the Bollywood pantheon, not just for its box office numbers but for its cultural impact. With a lifetime collection of Rs 46.88 crore, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is a film that continues to have a lasting appeal, especially among younger audiences who continue to discover it through digital platforms.
Kajol's biggest hits
1. Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior ₹ 277.75 Cr
2. Dilwale ₹ 148.42 Cr

Saiyaara Box Office Collection Day 9: Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda's movie hits ₹300 crore milestone globally
Saiyaara Box Office Collection Day 9: Saiyaara, starring debutants Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda, has officially crossed the ₹ 300 crore milestone globally on Saturday, Day 9. It is now the only Bollywood movie of 2025 after Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava to achieve the feat. The Mohit Suri directorial is now eyeing ₹ 100+ crore gross worldwide in its second weekend. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Saiyaara maintained a strong grip on its second Friday with a worldwide gross of over ₹ 30 crore, including its first million-dollar day overseas — a rare feat for a debutante-led romantic drama. By the end of Day 8, its second Friday, the movie had already amassed an impressive ₹ 282 crore gross worldwide, which included ₹ 229 crore from India and ₹ 53 crore from overseas. By Saturday, Day 9, Sacnilk reported that Saiyaara officially crossed the ₹ 300 crore milestone globally, becoming only the second Bollywood movie of 2025 to do so after Chhaava, which stands at ₹ 808 crore gross worldwide. In its second weekend, Saiyaara minted ₹ 21.50 crore gross in India on Friday and approximately ₹ 30 crore on Saturday. Sacnilk's early estimates suggest that the movie would mint another ₹ 30–35 crore gross on Sunday, which would take its second weekend domestic gross to an estimated ₹ 85+ crore. In overseas markets, Saiyaara is expected to rake in another ₹ 28–30 crore over the weekend, taking the total second weekend worldwide gross to an estimated ₹ 115 crore, an extraordinary figure. By the end of its second weekend, Saiyaara is set to hit an approximate ₹ 365 crore gross worldwide. Thus, it may surpass the lifetime gross of Shahid Kapoor-Kiara Advani's Kabir Singh ( ₹ 377 crore) by Monday or Tuesday, becoming the highest-grossing romantic Indian film of all time. After a historic first week, Saiyaara's second weekend too began on an excellent note. According to Sacnilk, Saiyaara witnessed a massive 47.22% uptick in its Saturday earnings, minting ₹ 26.5 crore net on Day 9. With this, Saiyaara had also surpassed the ₹ 200 crore milestone at the Indian box office. The movie has earned a total of ₹ 217.26 crore in nine days. With little to no competition at the Hindi box office, Sacnilk estimated that Saiyaara's second weekend collection will be in the range of ₹ 70 crore net, which would be a record for a romantic drama and one of the biggest second weekends ever. If the momentum holds, Saiyaara may touch the ₹ 250 crore mark by the end of its second weekend, a monumental benchmark for a movie led by fresh faces. This dream run is expected to continue for Saiyaara till at least August 1, before the release of Dhadak 2.

No smartphone, no problem: Fahadh Faasil on life without social media - 'It feels natural, not isolated'
(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) It's a known fact that the Hollywood veteran director Christopher Nolan doesn't use smart phones, hence he is not active on social media. Now in Mollywood, the versatile actor Fahadh Faasil seems to be following the same. The acclaimed actor recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and revealed that he still doesn't own a smartphone . It's not because he dismisses the value of technology, he's clear that smartphones are useful, but rather that he's created a life where they're simply not essential. 'There are always other ways to connect if someone needs to,' Fahadh said. The 'Maareesan' actor explained that the people who need to reach him can connect with him even without digital shortcuts. Tried, tested, and rejected Fahadh did try using social media at one point. But it didn't take long for him to realise it wasn't his space. He found himself unsure of what to post and how to respond to the influx of comments that followed. 'Those accounts were just to tell people about the films I was doing,' he admitted. Anything beyond that felt forced and unnatural to him. Nazriya Fahadh grooves to Thalapathy Vijay's 'Vaathi Coming' Rather than pretend to enjoy the platform, he quietly stepped away and has had no regrets. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like They Were So Beautiful Before; Now Look At Them; Number 10 Will Shock You Reportingly Undo 'I've never felt cut off from the world,' he shared.
