‘The Last of Us' Season 2 ends with a huge cliffhangers — who died?
It's the last of Season 2.
The sophomore year of the grim HBO drama 'The Last of Us' ended on Sunday night, wrapping up a dark stretch of episodes that killed off the series lead, Joel (Pedro Pascal).

Based on a popular video game of the same name, the show is set in a dystopian future where society has broken down, there are zombie-like creatures, and gruff smuggler Joel has formed a pseudo father/daughter relationship with teen girl Ellie (Bella Ramsey).
In the finale, Ellie tells her pregnant girlfriend, Dina (Isabela Merced), about the events that led to why Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) killed Joel.

Ellie reveals that Joel killed Abby's father, who was a doctor, because he was going to kill Ellie in order to get the cure to the zombie infection ravaging humanity.
Jesse (Young Mazino), who is the father of Dina's baby, also confronts Ellie about how Dina is pregnant. Dina hasn't told Jesse yet.
'I see how you look at each other, she tells you things she doesn't tell me,' he says, while Ellie assures him that she's positive Dina was going to tell him soon.

Ellie also finally tracks down two others who were in the room with Abby when she brutally killed Joel.
Ellie finds Mel (Ariela Barer) and Owen (Spencer Lord).
She bursts in, surprising them, and demands to know where Abby is so that she can avenge Joel.
When they don't tell Ellie, tension rises, and she ends up shooting them both.

As Mel bleeds out on the floor, Ellie is horrified to realize she was pregnant. A dying Mel gives Ellie last minute instructions on how to perform an emergency C-section, but she dies before Ellie can attempt.

Joel's brother, Tommy (Gabriel Luna), discovers Ellie next to Mel's body and leads her away. Jesse is also there.
Jesse looks disturbed, but Tommy glances at the bodies and assures Ellie, 'they were part of it, too,' referring to Joel's death.
'They made their choices,' he adds. 'That's all there is to it.'
Abby then shows up and shoots Jesse.

When she points a gun at Tommy, Ellie begs her to let him go.

'He killed my friends,' Abby says.
'No, I did,' Ellie admits. 'I was looking for you, I didn't mean to hurt them. I know why you killed Joel. He did what he did to save me. I'm the one that you want. Just let him go.'
An enraged Abby tells Ellie, 'I let you live. I let you live! And you wasted it,' referring to how Ellie was in the room when Abby killed Joel, and she left Ellie behind, alive.

Abby shoots as Ellie shouts 'no!' and the screen cuts to black, making it unclear who Abby shot.
At the end of Season 2, it's unclear what Ellie and Tommy and Jesse's fates are.
In the final scene, Abby wakes up on a couch, walks out onto a balcony,and looks out over post-apocalyptic Seattle.

Text onscreen reads, 'Seattle, Day One,' implying that this scene is at an earlier point in the timeline.
'The Last of Us' has been renewed for Season 3, but no premiere date has been announced yet.
When asked how long the show will continue for, co-creator Craig Mazin told The Post in April, 'We certainly know where it ends, and we know it does end. So this is not meant to be, 'and now in the 12th season of 'The Last of Us.' That's not happening. So, depending on how it lands, [there will be] one more season for sure … but perhaps one more, beyond that.'

According to the filing, Simmons' representatives lobbied HBO leaders at the time, including Casey Bloys and WarnerMedia CEO John Stankey, to no avail. 'Defendants were requested to review this evidence and information by multiple luminaries in media and politics, including but not limited to, civil rights leaders and members of Congress, and other high-profile black leaders; and board members within the Defendant corporation(s) itself,' the filing states. The filing seeks 'immediate removal' of the documentary from HBO's platforms, as well as at least $20 million in damages. Simmons has faced several sexual misconduct lawsuits, including from some of those who appeared in the documentary. In November 2023, he reached a confidential settlement with Sil Lai Abrams, who was among those interviewed, for $1,265,000, according to a court filing last year. In all, more than 20 women have accused him of sexual assault. Ansari is a partner at Aidala, Bertuna & Kamins, the New York law firm currently representing Harvey Weinstein in his criminal retrial. Billy Joel Tells Howard Stern: 'I'm Not Dying'
Howard Stern revealed a conversation with Billy Joel where the music icon discussed his recent diagnosis of a brain condition. The 76-year-old 'Piano Man' singer recently revealed he was diagnosed with a brain disorder called Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) and announced while canceling his upcoming concerts for at least four months. NPH is a brain disorder where excess cerebrospinal fluid accumulates in the brain's ventricles. The news has caused fans to worry about Joel's health. Patrick Schwarzenegger is glad that viewers' loathing for Saxon on ‘White Lotus' evolved into love
Patrick Schwarzenegger is still coming off the 'whirlwind of emotions' that was the making of 'The White Lotus' Season 3. The actor, who is taking part in a new campaign for Venmo with costar Aimee Lou Wood, spoke to CNN recently about how his perspective has changed since the release of the show, which saw his character Saxon go from loathsome finance bro to a vulnerable young man who realized he has a lot to learn. 'It was definitely a learning experience for me, being on this show,' Schwarzenegger said, adding that the viewership and engaged fandom – famous for its memes and fan theories -– was an experience 'that I've been never been part of.' As for his character – a 'grandiose alpha male that comes in grabbing his crotch and walking around naked,' in Schwarzenegger's words – he acknowledged that there were indeed some parallels between himself and who he portrayed, particularly in how they each were received by the viewing public over the course of the season. 'I think people did not like the character, and what happened was, a lot of people did not know who I was,' he said. '(They would) come up with their preconceived ideas of who I am or how I got the role' based, of course, on his famous last name. As the Mike White-created show went on, viewers learned that there was a lot more to Saxon than met the eye, and it was delivered via Schwarzenegger's capable acting chops – family name notwithstanding. 'It's a mistake to think you know a character that's in a Mike White show on day 1, or on week 2 or week 3,' he shared. Schwarzenegger called the show's creator 'very smart' in how he writes his characters, and 'how they change.' Or don't. 'It was fun for me to watch the hysteria of it all and how it evolved over time,' he said. And while he wasn't surprised that viewers received his character rather coolly at first, he was moved by how much they eventually warmed up to him. 'But I also did not know to what extent people were going to like Saxon,' he said. 'It was a very big roller coaster ride of people despising him to (him) becoming one of the most liked and enjoyed characters by the end, because he had a place to go to.' The same could be said of Schwarzenegger himself, who is slated to appear opposite Al Pacino in the feature 'Billy Knight,' according to his IMDb page. (The project is in post-production with no public release date set). The actor's famous father, however, might have some thoughts on any further on-screen nudity. In their conversation for Variety's 'Actors on Actors,' he once again sounded off on the topic spurred by Saxon's nude scene in the 'White Lotus' season 3 premiere, but this time, in a lovingly embarrassing that way only a father could. 'I'm watching your show, and I'm watching your butt sticking out there, and all of a sudden, I see the weenie,' the elder Schwarzenegger said. His son – and the Internet – howled with laughter.
