‘I've Got a Scat, I Love It:' Dealership Customer Asks About a ‘Shelby' They Spotted on the Lot. Then They Found Out the Price

A woman recently proved that the customer actually isn't always right. That doesn't necessarily mean a good salesperson should correct them, however.
Car salesperson Kate (@callmekate92) recently shared a taste of what she has to deal with on a daily basis with customers who think they know more than her.

'A customer just pointed to a Widebody Scat Pack under the awning and asked me how much that 'Shelby' is over there,' Kate says in a TikTok about the experience.
Kate says she told her that it's $52,500.
The woman wasn't having it. Kate says she replied, 'That is way too much for that car.'
'How do you know? You don't even know what it is,' Kate points out in the video.
She doesn't appear to have said this to the woman.
'Not in the mood to argue today—if you say it's a Mustang, then it is,' Kate adds in the caption.

The purple muscle car is not a Mustang. It's not even a Ford. It's a 2023 Dodge Charger Widebody Scat Pack, specifically the Super Bee special edition with a 6.4 liter V-8. The vehicle, she says, has 32,000 miles.
Kate says the Charger has suede and leather interiors, remote start, an 8.4' touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Alpine audio.
Delivery is free in Texas, but they can also ship it to you out of state, Kate says.
What's so Special about the Super Bee?
This car was part of a special lineup of limited edition 'Last Call' models honoring vehicles that brought 'buzz' to Dodge over the decades,
Dodge Garage
reports. There were only 1,000 of the limited-run Chargers made: 500 Widebody Scat Packs in B5 Blue and 500 Scatpacks in Plum Crazy, like the one in Kate's video.
The
Super Bee
was first introduced in 1968 and then again in 1971 as a Charger model.
'[The Dodge Super Bee] reached legendary status in its brief original four-year run by giving customers an ultra-high-performance vehicle that could serve as both a daily driver and a weekend warrior at the track or drag strip,'
Dodge Garage
notes.
Dodge discontinued the gasoline-powered
Charger
after 2023 in its move to transition to more
electric vehicles
, arguably making this vehicle all the more special.
Carvana is
selling
the same model car with 1,000 miles on it for $59,590.
Car and Driver
reports
that the 2023
Dodge Charger Scat Pack Widebody Super Bee
should cost roughly the same amount.
It actually would've cost far more than $52,500 if the vehicle was a 2023 Shelby, like the woman thought. That year, Ford purportedly only made 98 Ford Mustang Shelby
Super Snake
Speedster Editions. The manufacturer's suggested retail
price
is $153,140.
Although the woman was wrong about the make and model of the car she was looking at, at least one person agreed that Kate handled the situation the right way.
'Clients are always right,' they said.

Elk Grove's e-bike program gains speed as a community favorite

The results are in, and Elk Grove is saying its electric bike lending program is a big success. The e-bike effort is giving a jolt to people looking for an alternative way to get around town without having to rely on just pedal power. The city launched an electric bike lending program last fall, and it's been on the road to success ever since. "We have had over 600 requests now to borrow an e-bike since we launched at the beginning of September," said Kaley Lyons, Elk Grove's senior transportation planner. Jeff Wagley, owner of Cadence Bike Shop, said that e-bikes are popular with nearly every age group. "High schoolers, junior high schoolers, retired folks, people who just want to ride farther, get outside," Wagley said. Elk Grove purchased 20 bikes for the lending program, using money from a $200,000 federal grant. The city surveyed riders on why they used the bikes. "The top two reasons are recreation and also to run errands around town," Lyons said "I've talked to people that say, 'We rode it every single day, we started riding it to school, started riding it to work, so I think people just really appreciate it,' " Wagley said Since the lending launched, not a single e-bike has been stolen. The city also offered vouchers up to $1,000 for people to buy a new e-bike. "It was insane and we had so many people coming in," Wagley said. "All four bike shops in Elk Grove benefited from this." A goal of the program is to improve air quality and prevent traffic jams. The City of Elk Grove says that in just the first six months, people rode the bikes more than 1,600 miles and reduced more than 600 kilograms of CO2 emissions. "An e-bike really lets you take those in-town trips that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and really reduce congestion on our streets as well," Lyons said. "The more people we get on bikes, the fewer cars we have on our roads." Federal grant money for the lending program runs out in December, but the city council has approved continuing the program through at least June of next year.

2027 BMW M3: What We Know So Far

Overview The BMW M3 has been a sports sedan benchmark for nearly four decades, and its next-generation—expected to arrive for the 2027 model year—will bring big changes to the muscled-up 3er. For years, it has been speculated that the next M3 will be electric, and it now seems that those rumors are at least partially true. While details about the powertrain and underlying platform are sparse, an electric M3 is guaranteed. BMW has also confirmed that it hasn't given up on internal combustion engines, so it is reasonable to expect that there will also be a high-powered gas variant of the new car. The 2027 M3 will be built on a new vehicle architecture that will also underpin the standard models in the upcoming 3-series lineup, which are also expected to arrive for the 2027 model year. BMW gave us a peek at the potential styling direction for the new 3-series with the retro-futuristic Vision Neue Klasse EV concept in 2023, and the M3 will incorporate elements of that as well—albeit with more aggressive bodywork, in typical M3 fashion. It remains to be seen if both gas and electric variants will be available at launch or just the EV. But with BMW promising to 'set new standards' with the 2027 M3, it will undoubtedly provide acceleration that draws blood to the back of your brain, regardless of the powertrain. What's New for 2027? The BMW M3 will enter a new generation for the 2027 model year. The extensive rework represents a paradigm shift for the M3, which will offer an electric powertrain for the first time. Recent spy photos have shown a heavily camouflaged next-gen 3-series test mule with quad tailpipes, suggesting that a gas variant of the M3 is likely to exist alongside the EV. As with the standard 3-series, BMW has kept the M3 largely under wraps, only recently releasing photos of the EV M3 enveloped in M-print digital camouflage. Despite the disguise, it is clear that the new M3 sports wide fenders, aggressive front and rear bumpers, and large disc brakes—features shared with every M3 before it. Pricing and Which One to Buy The price of the 2027 BMW M3 is expected to start around $80,000 and go up to $90,000 depending on the trim and options. M3 $80,000 (est) M3 EV $90,000 (est) 0 $25k $50k $75k $100k $125k $150k While only the electric variant of the new M3 has been confirmed, it will likely be joined by a gas variant at some point. BMW hasn't released any pricing or equipment details for the M3 yet, so we're just guessing on the price points for now. Presumably, the new M3 will be more expensive than the outgoing model and the new electric variant will be significantly more costly than the gas version. We'll update this story once we have new information—pricing or otherwise. As more information becomes available, we'll update this story with more details about:
