Lewis Hamilton gives lucky F1 rival a lift home on his private jet after finding out he was booked on EasyJet

LEWIS HAMILTON took rookie Franco Colapinto on his private jet following the Spanish Grand Prix, instead of flying EasyJet.
The seven-time world champion put a message in the F1 drivers' WhatsApp group following the race in Barcelona offering a free flight.

22-year-old Argentinian Alpine driver Colapinto said he was headed to London - but with budget airline EasyJet.
So Hamilton told him to cancel his plans and hitch a ride onboard his swanky jet instead.
Colapinto said it was a "dream come true" given he has always been a huge admirer of the Ferrari driver and he had never been on a private jet.
Ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix, Colapinto said: "Yeah it was nice,
'Lewis is a great guy and I had the best flight of my life with him. It was very special and very unique.
"You all know that he was my idol since I was very young, with Senna as well, and to be able to fly with him and have a bit of a chat.
'He asked if anyone was flying to London and I said I'm going to London but on EasyJet.
"And he came back saying he had a lot of space on his plane and invited me to go.
"It was quite special. Also flying private for the first time, two very unique experiences and a lot of stories from Lewis. A very special flight.
'He's a great guy and I was very, very impressed by how he is as a person and how he is as a professional.
"A lot to admire from the personal part from the sportsman. It was great, a dream come true and didn't have to fly on my EasyJet flight.'
In 2013 Hamilton purchased a £25million luxury Bombadier Challenger 605 in a striking cherry red colour, shortly after leaving McLaren for Mercedes.
He sold it in 2019 so it is likely the jet that Colapinto travelled on was rented by Hamilton.
Hamilton sold the jet on as it did not make financial sense and it was also not in keeping with his views on sustainable living.

Kate Winslet becomes King's Foundation ambassador

Kate Winslet has joined The King's Foundation after telling the monarch she has 'got his back'. The Academy Award-winning actress, 49, is joining the charity as an ambassador, following in the footsteps of Sir David Beckham, Sienna Miller and Sir Rod Stewart. It comes after she joined the King, 76, at the foundation's awards ceremony in St James's Palace a fortnight ago, where she told him: 'Don't worry, I'll be all in – I've got your back.' The Titanic star said she was thrilled following the announcement of her new ambassadorial role and noted her and Charles's shared passion for protecting the environment. Winslet said: 'One of my passions is exploring ways that we can protect and promote the natural world – something I have in common with His Majesty.' In a video marking the news, the British actress added that the foundation's work protecting the planet and encouraging young people to learn about the 'beautiful' countryside was 'deeply important' to her. She said she was looking forward to collaborating with the other ambassadors on ways to make a difference through the charity's work. 'I am so thrilled to become an ambassador for The King's Foundation, particularly as the charity celebrates its 35th anniversary this year,' Winslet said. She added: 'The King's Foundation does such fantastic work to prioritise and protect nature and our wonderful planet, in particular championing field to fork farming, as well as getting young people outdoors and learning about our beautiful countryside and how we can all play a part in protecting its future, all things that are deeply important to me and to so many of us. 'And it's been fascinating learning about what the foundation does over these past few months, and I am really looking forward to collaborating with the other ambassadors so we can discuss ways in which we can collectively make a positive difference.' She joins fellow ambassadors Alan Titchmarsh, presenter Jay Blades, TV property expert Sarah Beeny and rugby player Maro Itoje, among others. The ambassadors are expected to use their expertise and reach to support the King's charity's mission in its vision and strategy. The King's Foundation works to support people and the planet through a sustainable and holistic approach, including education courses in preserving endangered traditional skills – such as millinery, embroidery and woodworking – and helping to revitalise communities through urban regeneration and planning. Kristina Murrin, the charity's chief executive, said: 'It has been fantastic to get to know Kate and we are thrilled she was able to spend time with our students, alumni and Royal Founding President at The King's Foundation Awards earlier this month. 'We look forward to working with Kate to promote our work over many years to come.' The charity, previously known as The Prince's Foundation, was founded by Charles in 1990 and aims to 'advocate for the change His Majesty wants to see in the world'.

Brad Pitt's home fence scaled by thieves in terrifying break-in attempt

Brad Pitt's home has been terrorised by thieves, according to reports. It's claimed three suspects have allegedly tried to scale the fence at his Los Angeles property. The Los Angeles Police Department reported the incident took place at around 10.30pm on Wednesday. While they confirmed a break-in at a residence in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles, they did not identify who lived at the property or who owned it. It's thought it was the Hollywood icon's home and he wasn't present at the time. It's unclear, though, if his girlfriend Ines de Ramon was in the house. Investigators told NBC News that the thieves climbed over the actor's front fence before ransacking his home. It's claimed an unknown amount of property was stolen in the heist. The burglary comes after a number of other celebrity homes were recently targeted. However, it's unclear if there are any connections. Among those previously targeted were Pitt's ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston. Couples Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson and Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were also targeted in recent years. Pitt had been in the UK this week as he continued to promote his new film, F1: The Movie. Earlier this week he was spotted with his girlfriend at the premiere in London.

Gulf shipping costs drop as Israel-Iran ceasefire holds

LONDON, June 26 (Reuters) - Shipping costs for the Gulf have fallen in the past two days after a ceasefire was reached between Israel and Iran, although rates could rebound if tensions increase, shipping and insurance industry sources said on Thursday. The conflict had raised concerns that Iran could close Hormuz, the strait between Iran and Oman through which around 20% of global oil and gas demand flows amid broader fears that oil could soar to $100 a barrel. Shipping rates for supertankers, which can carry 2 million barrels of oil, jumped over the past week before the ceasefire - more than doubling to over $60,000 a day. Rates were quoted around $50,000 a day on Thursday, freight data showed. "Tanker rates ... have been pulling back following the halt to hostilities between Israel and Iran," Jefferies analyst Omar Nokta said in a note. Israel and Iran agreed to a ceasefire on Tuesday after 12 days of war. Greece's shipping ministry on Thursday eased requirements for its merchant fleet, no longer advising them to report voyages through Hormuz, saying the situation "appears to have been improved". War risk insurance premiums for Gulf shipments softened to between 0.35-0.45%, from a peak of 0.5% on Monday, sources said. This compares with levels of around 0.3% in recent months. The cost of a seven-day voyage is based on the value of the ship and the drop will translate into tens of thousands of dollars less in additional costs each day. "Rates have definitely softened," said David Smith, head of marine with insurance broker McGill and Partners. "Whilst war premiums are still significant there is a large number of war risk insurers looking to underwrite risks and offer capacity, which in combination with the improved political situation is adding ever downward pressure on rates. That said, the situation remains very fluid." Iran would respond to any future U.S. attack by striking American military bases in the Middle East, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Thursday, in his first televised remarks since the ceasefire.
