New Evidence Emerges in Marc Mysterio's Shadowban Lawsuit Against Amazon, Calls on ‘Anti-Hero'

NEW YORK, April 15, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Marc Mysterio, a Billboard-charting artist and undefeated professional boxer—IBA Boxing has issued a letter sanctioning Marc Mysterio vs. Jake Paul for their vacant 220 lbs title—has introduced new evidence in his lawsuit against Amazon Music (Case No. 1:25-cv-01705, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York), alleging the platform used an 'IF/THEN' filter to cripple his music's viability.
The Irish-Canadian artist, who logged 80 million streams from September 2023 to August 2024 as a voluntary Amazon Exclusive Artist, claims Amazon's filter replaced artist-level metadata with a '-' white-out symbol—rendering songs artist-less—preventing fan alerts and stations' streams.
Court filings include a letter of preservation requesting 17 items, such as Amazon's logs identifying when the alleged filter was activated, who authorized it, user error reports, and the implementing programmer's user-ID.
Mysterio music appeared on Taylor Swift's station—generating 3.7 million streams in 2024 before bottoming out in September—asserts the shadowban handcuffed his reach.

Mysterio has urged Taylor Swift to remove her catalog from Amazon due to the shadowban, given Swift's legacy of advocating for artists' rights—from her Spotify boycott to supporting Kesha—her voice would be a game-changer.
The two also share a mutual friend, All Elite Wrestling's Jeff Jarrett.

'I've posted video evidence on shadowban.me —a 3-Part Series—I'm calling on Taylor to stand with me in unity against shadow-banning. When she pulls her catalog from Amazon, it solidifies her as The Anti-Hero. Jeff has my contact details—let's talk,' Mysterio states.
Swift's partner, Travis Kelce, was also co-featured in a Billboard article with Mysterio for new chart entries.
Mysterio's lawsuit—seeking millions in lost and unpaid royalties— follows recent Billboard-Hit 'The Dancefloor' and collaborations with Flo Rida, David Guetta, Crash Test Dummies, Samantha Fox, Netflix's 'Trailer Park Boys', and Avicii (according to Billboard).

It's okay to not be okay!

Former Bahrain resident and publisher Robin Barratt's new book focusing on mental health is set to hit the shelves next month, following Mental Health Awareness Month in May, and features entries from 32 countries including the kingdom. Anxiety and Depression is the seventh in a series of books he has compiled and published on the subject. The others include Suicide – volumes one and two, Addiction and Mental Health – volumes one, two and three. The latest 250-page book anthologises a collection of interviews, personal stories, poetry and short prose from around the world. 'I am still currently in the process of compiling it and have received almost 100 submissions. It is due for release mid-June, but with a submission deadline of May 31,' the 62-year-old Briton told GulfWeekly. 'It will be available as a paperback and in Kindle format on Amazon worldwide or directly from me in the UK,' the former security industry specialist, who currently lives in Norwich, added. Being on the autistic spectrum, Robin has had many mental health challenges throughout his life, which is why the theme of the book holds importance to him. 'I have been promoting positive mental health and mental health awareness for much of my life, and have taken a number of courses with organisations including the Red Cross. In 2020, I formed Poetry for Mental Health ( which is now the biggest organisation of its kind, supporting thousands of people around the world through words and poetry,' the former Hoora resident said. Visual artist and poet Anju Kapoor from Manama, who has been living in the kingdom with her family for the last 30 years, has shared her verses for the book, bringing alive a personal emotional journey. 'Excavating the Wound emerged at a time of deep personal introspection when a gamut of my feelings, grief and resilience met, as a result of which I found it necessary to process a silent grief,' the 54-year-old creative talent, who resorts to writing as a 'coping mechanism' to process her feelings, said. An excerpt from her poem reads: I want the solace of unclenched fists, the freedom of a sky unchained, unbound I want to find myself in the wreckage of old bruises Robin too finds books, words and poetry to be 'therapeutic and cathartic' in difficult times, and he tries to help others cope by motivating and inspiring them to write, and then publishing their words and work. The founder of the Bahrain Writers' Circle (BWC), who has released more than 60 titles so far, said, 'The BWC proved crucial in my writing, as prior to this I was just writing within the true crime genre, but after forming the Circle, and compiling My Beautiful Bahrain (2012), I moved away from true crime into compiling and publishing anthologies,' he added. The author is hopeful of moving back to live in Bahrain and believes there is a lot that the kingdom can do to develop awareness about mental health. 'Not many companies offer mental health awareness and support programmes to their employees and I am not aware of any corporate mental health awareness training on the island. 'So, my goal for 2025 is to somehow find a way of introducing this aspect of wellness and self-care to the kingdom,' he revealed. Katy Perry's space trip was ‘crazy'

Bang Showbiz | Los Angeles Katy Perry's brief but thrilling journey to the edge of space earlier this month has left her fellow 'American Idol' stars in awe. The pop sensation, known for hits like 'Firework', joined an all-female crew on an 11-minute flight aboard Blue Origin, the space travel company founded by Amazon's Jeff Bezos. The mission took Perry and five other women to the edge of space, a milestone that Perry called 'totally crazy.' Katy, who shares a four-year-old daughter, Daisy, with fiancé Orlando Bloom, was joined by fellow adventurers Gayle King, Lauren Sanchez, Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, and Kerianne Flynn. Despite her excitement, Perry kept her experience brief in conversations with friends and colleagues, describing the journey as 'just totally crazy,' without providing further details. Perry's former American Idol colleague, Luke Bryan, shared his enthusiasm about the mission, recalling his reaction when he first heard the news. 'I remember when I heard the news that she was going, I was like, 'Wow, that's crazy that you're getting to go. But now, when she got back safe, I was like, 'Oh my god, wow. Awesome,'' Luke said during an interview with E! News. The country singer, who has exchanged a few texts with Perry since the flight, revealed that they haven't had a proper conversation about the experience yet, adding, 'I'll be interested to hear her version of it.' While Luke Bryan was captivated by the moment, he expressed his relief that Perry and the crew returned safely. Ryan Seacrest, the host of American Idol, praised Katy's bravery for participating in the space trip, admitting that he would have been too hesitant to embark on such an adventure himself. 'I'm very, very happy that she did it and got back safely. She's braver than I am,' Ryan said. Meanwhile, Lionel Richie, who has been a judge on the show alongside Perry, made it clear he wasn't ready to take the leap into space. 'When she said she was going to space, I said, 'You go right on. I'll stay right down here,'' Lionel quipped. 'I didn't give her any advice because you know Katy. She's going to do exactly what she wants to do.' Carrie Underwood, who replaced Perry as a judge on American Idol, echoed Lionel's sentiments, expressing that while she thought the experience was 'crazy' and 'amazing,' she was happy to stay grounded. 'I'm good on the ground,' she said with a laugh. Perry's mission into space wasn't just a personal triumph; it also held sentimental value. She brought along a small daisy, in tribute to her daughter, which she proudly held up as she exited the capsule. This simple yet powerful gesture was a reminder of her deep connection to her family, even in the vastness of space. As for Katy herself, the spaceflight was a bold, exhilarating experience, one she will no doubt reflect on for years to come. Her journey has left a mark not only in her own life but also in the minds of those who follow her career and personal adventures.

Ryan Gosling to star in new ‘Star Wars' film

After his scene-stealing turn as Ken in the 2023 blockbuster hit 'Barbie,' Oscar-nominated actor Ryan Gosling is taking on another huge pop culture franchise: the 'Star Wars' universe. Gosling will star in the upcoming 'Star Wars: Starfighter,' due for release in May 2027, Lucasfilm announced Friday at the Star Wars Celebration event in Japan. The film, to be directed by Shawn Levy ('Deadpool & Wolverine,' 'Stranger Things'), will be set about five years after the events of 2019's 'Star Wars: Episode IX -- The Rise of Skywalker,' Lucasfilm, a subsidiary of Disney, said in a statement. Fans cheered as Gosling and Levy made a surprise appearance at the Japan event to confirm the project, which will begin production later this year. The film will be 'an entirely new adventure featuring allnew characters set in a period of time that has not been explored on screen yet,' the company said. Wearing a baseball hat with the slogan 'Never Tell Me The Odds,' Gosling said: 'I think it's just exactly the advice that we need as we embark on this journey.' 'The Force is a mysterious thing. But I think as I'm here, I feel like the Force is the fans,' the Canadian actor said to cheers. 'I think all we can hope for is that -- may the fans be with us.' Levy acknowledged the daunting nature of joining a franchise with a rabid fan base. 'You take on 'Star Wars,' you take on something that's this beloved -- it's intimidating. You're scared, you're nervous, you want to get it right, ' the Canadian film - m a k e r said. 'But we have a feeling that with this story, with this collaboration, we can get it right.' The standalone film will come a year after 'The Mandalorian & Grogu,' an expansion of the popular Disney+ streaming series starring Pedro Pascal due out in 2026. Other Star Wars films are in the works from directors such as Taika Waititi, best known for 'Jojo Rabbit' and two Marvel superhero 'Thor' films, and James Mangold, who helmed the recent Bob Dylan biopic 'A Complete Unknown.' A trilogy from Simon Kinberg and a film from Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy are also in development. Gosling, 44, has three Oscar nominations to his name: best supporting actor for 'Barbie,' and two best actor nods for 'La La Land' and 'Half Nelson.'
