A puppy's heartwarming effort to bond with a senior dog has charmed viewers online, as thousands watched her determined attempts to win over her older housemate.
The video, shared by @junothecavapoo on social media, shows Juno—a young cavapoo—desperately trying to befriend Lola, a senior Labrador, during a two-week stay. The clip has garnered nearly 1,000 likes and over 15,600 views.
"Unfortunately and unsurprisingly it isn't the happy ending we had hoped for," the owner told Newsweek. "Although Lola became more tolerant of Juno and at points we did even catch them sleeping on the same bed, Juno took her chances when Lola was already sleeping and as she's deaf, got away with it!, I can't say they became besties."
The owner explained that despite Lola's indifference, Juno remained enthusiastic throughout their time together.

They said Juno amazed them with her "resilience and determination to befriend Lola," noting that the puppy seemed to genuinely believe Lola was her best friend, even though she was largely ignored.
Her tail didn't stop wagging for her whole stay, and after Lola left, Juno continued to search for her around the house for several days.
"Auntie Lola has come for a two week holiday and I'm determined to make her like me," the owner fittingly captioned the video.
In the now-viral video, Juno can be seen joyfully wagging her tail, attempting to snuggle up with Lola in her bed, and even rolling a ball toward her in a hopeful gesture of play.
Introducing a puppy to a senior dog can be challenging. Such introductions should be handled gradually and with patience, according to the American Kennel Club (AKC). Older dogs may not be as tolerant of high energy and enthusiasm, and it's important to give them space and time to adjust. Short, supervised interactions and separate resting areas can help ease the transition, along with plenty of positive reinforcement when the older dog responds calmly.
TikTok viewers were touched by Juno's efforts.
"Noooo, the little roll of the ball broke my heart! That puppy is so cute," said one user.
"Awww how adorable I'm sure they will love each other," commented another.
"Awhh the ball rolling," added Angelique.

Dog Trying To Scare Owner Every Time She Goes Downstairs Delights Internet

A viral video showing how a dog playfully scares her owner every time she comes down the stairs instantly brightened people's timelines. A game of hide and seek isn't just entertainment for children; dogs cannot get enough of the thrill. An article from Wag Walking stated that hide and seek is a great exercise for both a dog's body and brain, stimulating their instincts, strengthening recall behavior, and reinforcing scent-tracking ability. But Luna, the Shar-pei, slightly altered the rules and turned the game into a daily routine every time her owner, who is known on TikTok as @ashleighgriffen8, comes downstairs. Instead of taking turns, Luna hides every time, but becoming impatient, the seek part of the game is cut short. As soon as she hears the owner's footsteps, Luna gets into position, hiding around the corner at the bottom of the stairs. In an August 7 TikTok video, Luna slowly poked her head out, checking how close her owner was. She carefully timed it and then leaped out to "scare" her owner. Newsweek reached out to @ashleighgriffen8 via TikTok for additional information and comment. The dog hopped with excitement as she completed another scare. Unable to sit still after the thrill of the game, zoomies took over. Her body wiggled and her tail wagged. The owner assured viewers in the comment section that, despite knowing this happens every time, she still pretends to be shocked. Soaking up these precious moments together, she shared how this daily routine makes her day. The text on the clip reads: "The money I would pay to have this forever." Viewer Reactions With over 4.3 million views and 1.1 million likes on TikTok as of Tuesday, people fell in love with Luna, confirming they, too, became startled by her jump scare. They called the owner "rich" for having this daily bonding moment with her dog. "They're literally permanent toddlers that adore you forever," a viewer wrote, while a second person commented: "My heart literally just melted. This has got to be the best feeling in the world." Another added: "This must be a shar-pei thing. My doggo does this too." Someone else chimed in: "She's just a lil prankster." 'KPop Demon Hunters' Sequel Buzz: Everything We Know

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. KPop Demon Hunters has secured the No. 4 spot on Netflix with 158.8 million views, sparking rumors of a sequel. While it was previously speculated that a live-action version of the film was set to be released, The Hollywood Reporter reported Tuesday that Netflix has no plans for that film currently. Why It Matters KPop Demon Hunters follows Huntrix, a group of three who fight monsters from the underworld. The film was a hit, and its soundtrack has spent multiple weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart. Due to its large but somewhat unanticipated appeal, some fans are wondering whether a sequel will be in the works. What To Know Stock image of a person holding a smartphone displaying the Netflix logo. Stock image of a person holding a smartphone displaying the Netflix logo.'KPop Demon Hunters': Will There Be a Sequel? The success of KPop Demon Hunter exceeded Netflix's initial expectations for its target demographic. Even real-life K-pop artists have joined the craze. Zerobaseone recreated the movie's fictional group Saja Boys online, and BTS member Jungkook talked about watching the movie on a livestream. "I think it's going to be part of our lives for a bit. I don't see the fandom slowing down. We hit an all-time high in viewership in week five, which is absolutely insane," KPop Demon Hunters co-director Maggie Kang told The Hollywood Reporter. Despite the success, Netflix has no current plans to produce a live-action version of the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Newsweek reached out to Netflix for comment via email. When Could the 'KPop Demon Hunters' Sequel Come Out? While there are currently no official plans for a sequel, any further developments could take a significant amount of time to reach fans. Dan Lin, chairman of Netflix Films, said Netflix was "excited to explore what could be the next adventure for Huntrix." "KPDH's success comes from its original, fresh story so if we do embark on a sequel, we would want to take our time to make sure that any future stories we tell with our favorite demon hunters retains the flair and uniqueness of the first film," Lin said in a statement to Newsweek. Is 'KPop Demon Hunters' Coming to Theaters? KPop Demon Hunters is set to have a sing-along run in select theaters in the United States and Canada on Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24. Netflix previously stated tickets will go on sale Wednesday, August 13, at 9 a.m. ET. Find out if a theater near you is showing the film here. How Old Is Rumi in 'KPop Demon Hunters'? KPop Demon Hunters centers on three best friends: Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo). Kang previously confirmed on an AMA session on Reddit that Rumi and Mira are around age 23 or 24, with Rumi maybe being slightly older. Zoey is the youngest of the group, at age 22 or 23. What People Are Saying Dan Lin, chairman of Netflix Film, told The Hollywood Reporter: "We knew younger female audiences and K-pop [and] anime fans would love this film, but it's been incredibly gratifying to see it embraced by an even broader audience and become a favorite film for both adults and kids. Adults are watching the movie with their friends or other family members, kids are watching with their friends and siblings." KPop Demon Hunters co-director Maggie Kang told The Hollywood Reporter: "I think we just all wanted to prove everybody wrong, but everybody that came on board just really believed in it. We found the heart of the movie really quickly." What Happens Next Lin told The Hollywood Reporter that Netflix is constantly "looking for powerful new stories, refreshing new voices and daring new approaches" in their films. "KPDH is a perfect example of this approach," Lin said. "Netflix allows our films to build their audience organically and over time. As word of mouth spread and social media caught on, we saw viewing really take off and the movie became a cultural phenomenon — it's one of the only films to grow its audiences in its fifth and six weeks of release."

Dog Devastated as Sibling Dies—Tears at What He Still Does 5 Months Later

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A video of a dog using a specific, tiny bed, five months after his sibling passed, left viewers sobbing. Archer, a yellow Labrador, and 15-pound rescue dog Niko were inseparable, with everyone referring to the duo as "The Boys," their owner, Natalie, told Newsweek. From the moment she brought home Archer, Niko took him under his wing. The two stuck together like glue. "Despite the size difference, Niko was definitely the boss," she said. "He had a huge personality and was the one who taught Archer everything. Even protecting him at the dog park." In March of this year, Niko passed at age 12, leaving the family devastated, especially Archer. The only way Archer could find comfort would be through items that smell like Niko—blankets, beds, his old dog leash. She shared in a July 16 TikTok video on her account @thebetchreport how five months after the dog's passing, Archer still uses Niko's bed. He doesn't care that his large body is much too big for the tiny bed; Archer curls up on it every night. "Because of this, we haven't washed any of Niko's items so that Archer can still feel close to him." Because of the emotional attachments canines form, they can experience grief when someone they love, including other pets, passes away, according to the American Kennel Club. However, they may not fully comprehend the concept of death. They, instead, might believe their loved one is missing. Dogs can exhibit one or more symptoms of grief, including withdrawal from people and pets, lack of appetite, lethargy, unusual aggression or destructive behaviors, searching for a companion dog, increased vocalization or becoming clingy. These signs should not be punished harshly. Owners should reassure their dogs with love and praise. "He didn't just lose his brother, he lost his best friend and the one who taught him everything he knows," Natalie said. Heartbroken, TikTok users flooded the video with their hopes that Archer heals, and as of Tuesday, the clip reached over 577,000 views. "Animals mourn too. Rip, little guy. Sorry for your loss," wrote one viewer. Another commenter recommended: "Don't wash it. Let his brother smell the memories." Natalie shared in the comment section that she believes Archer especially missed his brother in this moment, noting how sad he looked. Otherwise, he still wags his tail and is adjusting to a new normal without his brother. Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share?
