Time of India3 hours ago

Iran launched a new wave of ballistic missiles on Israel a short while ago. Warning sirens sounded across central Israel. The IDF said that fewer than 10 missiles were fired and that some of them were intercepted. Israel's emergency service claimed that 4 people were injured while rushing to bomb shelters. This comes after Iran's IRGC claimed to have struck Mossad centre and IDF's intelligence headquarters in Tel Aviv. The Iranian attacks come as Israel continued to bombard Tehran on day 5 of the conflict. Watch for more details.

UAE cautions against ‘reckless, uncalculated steps' as Israel-Iran tensions rise

The foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, has warned of "uncalculated and reckless steps" that could spill out beyond the borders of Iran and Israel, according to a statement by the foreign ministry on Tuesday. UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian discussed in a phone call the Israeli strikes on Iran, the Emirati state news agency WAM reported later in the day. The Emirati president said the Gulf country is conducting intensive talks with concerned parties to calm the situation, WAM said. He also expressed solidarity with Iran and its people during the current circumstances, it added. Abu Dhabi in recent years mended ties with Tehran after years of tension. The Gulf country, along with Bahrain, also normalised ties with Israel in 2020.

Pakistan is more powerful than Iran and Israel, total nuclear warheads of Islamabad are..., India has...

Pakistan is more powerful than Iran and Israel, total nuclear warheads of Islamabad are..., India has... Amid the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, Pakistan, which faced defeat by India during Operation Sindoor, has made its entry and again reiterated its old threat of nuclear weapons. Iran's National Security Council member and IRGC General Mohsen Rezaei recently stated that Islamabad had assured Iran that it would launch nuclear retaliation against Israel if the Middle Eastern country were attacked by a nuclear weapon. During a televised interview, Mohsen Rezaei said, 'Pakistan has assured us that if Israel uses a nuclear bomb on Iran, they will retaliate with a nuclear bomb on Israel,' Rezaei stated. However, Islamabad has firmly denied this claim. The ongoing missile exchanges between Iran and Israel have claimed around 248 deaths, 230 in Iran and 18 in Israel. It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time that Pak's nuclear weapons have been highlighted and referred to during a conflict. Earlier in April this year, Pak Minister Hanif Abbasi openly threatened India with nuclear retaliation, stating that missile systems—Ghori, Shaheen, and Ghaznavi- along with 130 nukes are 'kept only for India.' According to a report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, here is detailed information on Pakistan's nuclear strength. Pakistan's Nuclear Arsenal: The country has 100-120 nukes. Delivery Methods: These nuks are designed to deliver through aircraft and land-based missiles. Storage Protocols: It's believed that during peacetime, Islamabad stores its nuclear weapons separately from their delivery systems. Official Stance: The Strategic Plans Division, responsible for managing the country's weapons stockpile, has not publicly acknowledged the reported deployment plans. Warhead Material: Pakistan's nuclear arsenal is reportedly based on highly enriched uranium. HEU Stockpile (2014): It is estimated that HEU stockpile is at 2.7 to 3.5 tonnes for military purposes.

Why can't Israel destroy Iran's uranium kept 90 meters under the ground despite its military might?

New Delhi: Israel has been hell bent on destroying Iran for the last 4 days. Iran also retaliated strongly and blew up many buildings in the capital Tel Aviv and Haifa. Israel destroyed many targets on the ground in Iran, but the 'real targets' inside the ground have not been harmed. Some such indications have been found in the satellite pictures that came after the attack. Despite all the threats and destruction, Iran has not stopped its nuclear programme till now. In fact, all the nuclear centers of Iran are on Israel's target. But even after firing missiles at Fordo, it has not been able to reach Iran's 'safe house'. It suspects that Iran is secretly enriching nuclear weapons at Fordo. Iran has built this hideout at such a secure place that it is almost impossible for Israeli missiles to reach there. It is said that Fordo Nuclear Center is 20 miles away from Qom city, inside a hill, 90 meters below the ground. This Iranian nuclear center is extremely safe. It was in 2009 that the world came to know about Fordo plant after the intelligence of countries like America and France told the world about it. Netanyahu's eyes are now on this hideout. But even after knowing, he cannot cause any damage to this hideout. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has also been keeping an eye on this center which is Iran's second largest center of uranium enrichment. Israeli news website Jerusalem Post, citing an IAEA report, has claimed that there is uranium with purity up to 60% at two places in Iran. If it is further enriched, then six nuclear bombs can be made from it. What makes Fordo almost indestructible? Israel has bunker busters like GBU-28 and GBU-31 that can penetrate concrete up to a depth of about 6–10 meters. But to destroy Fordo, a bomb that can penetrate up to 61 meters is needed, which only America's GBU-57 MOP (Massive Ordnance Penetrator) can do. America can destroy Fordo by dropping GBU-57 MOP bombs from its B-2 bomber, but politically it does not want to get involved in this conflict. Apart from this, Fordo is a symbol of Iran's strategic prestige and ideology. It is under the tight security of IRGC with air defense systems like S-300, underground tunnels, multi-layer shields and electronic jamming systems. To destroy it, it will have to be attacked simultaneously at many levels, and that too repeatedly.
