Keanu Reeves signs up for F1 docuseries as Brad Pitt's movie is a box office smash

Daily Mail02-07-2025
Keanu Reeves isn't going to let Brad Pitt be the only one repping Formula One onscreen.
The 60-year-old Matrix star has just signed on to produce and host a new docuseries about the Cadillac team's journey to the highest class of worldwide racing for open-wheel single-seater cars.
Keanu heads up the VIP behind-the-scenes look at the creation of F1's newest operation, which will air before Cadillac's debut at Melbourne 's Albert Park next March.
'I'm very honored and excited to be a part of telling the remarkable Cadillac Formula 1 Team story and its incredible journey into the world of Formula 1 racing,' Keanu told Formula1.com on Wednesday.
'Our goal with the docuseries is to bring audiences into the heart of this journey and showcase what it takes to participate in one of the most exclusive sports arenas in the world.'
The docuseries reunites Reeves with his Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story showrunner Simon Hammerson after the pair triumphantly won an International Emmy Award on November 25.
TWG Motorsports CEO Dan Towriss said the team was 'honored to work with Keanu, whose passion and knowledge of racing runs deep, and proud to partner with GM on this incredible story.
'We have an opportunity to welcome a new generation of fans to Formula 1 and Keanu's creativity is the perfect spark to ignite that journey.'
Last March, the Ballerina producer-star and his fellow ARCH Motorcycle co-founder Gard Hollinger executive produced and co-hosted the innovative docuseries Visionaries for the Roku Channel.
Ironically, Keanu did not perform that well when he made his own motorsport debut in the Toyota GR Cup North America amateur race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway last October.
In a field of 33 racers, Reeves finished in 25th place and 24th place in two races after spinning out his Eagle Canyon Racing-prepared GR86 into the grass, but he did not crash.
'Hi, I'm Keanu Reeves, I'm No. 92, the first [session] today was a blast,' the Beirut-born Canadian said at the time.
It's fun. Racing is fun…it's fun. Everyone says it's fun, and it's fun.'
But in 2009, Keanu and his front-drive Scion tC coupé managed to win the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race in Long Beach, CA against other A-list drivers.
Speaking of which, other celebs who've felt the need for speed in real life have included Tom Cruise, Patrick Dempsey, Eric Bana, Caitlyn Jenner, and the late great Paul Newman.

The Beirut-born Canadian will next portray Estragon opposite Alex Winter's Vladimir in director Jamie Lloyd's Broadway revival of Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot, which runs September 28-January 4, 2026 at the Hudson Theatre in Manhattan
Meanwhile, Brad Pitt produced and stars as racer-for-hire Sonny Hayes in Joseph Kosinski's critically-acclaimed sports drama F1, which has already earned $161.9M back from its $300M budget over opening weekend.
Reeves will next portray Estragon opposite Alex Winter's Vladimir in director Jamie Lloyd's Broadway revival of Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot, which begins previews September 13 before the September 28-January 4, 2026 run at the Hudson Theatre in Manhattan.
The Sonic the Hedgehog 3 star will also portray the angel Gabriel in Aziz Ansari's feature directorial debut Good Fortune - hitting US/UK theaters October 17 - alongside Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer, and Sandra Oh.
Keanu's other upcoming projects include Francis Lawrence's long-delayed Constantine sequel, Jonah Hill's black comedy Outcome for Apple TV+, and Ruben Östlund's satirical black comedy The Entertainment System Is Down.

Footy star Adam Reynolds gets caught up in road rage incident with his daughter over an issue Aussie parents will sympathise with

Veteran halfback Adam Reynolds found himself in the middle of a rather heated verbal confrontation in Brisbane over the weekend while giving his eldest daughter a driving lesson. The incident kicked off after Reynolds' daughter got beeped and abused by a couple of frustrated motorists for driving too slowly. Then one rude driver pushed the footy star too far. 'So we're driving home, and L plates are slow, we all know that. They're not driving fast, they're inexperienced,' Reynolds told Triple M's Rush Hour. '...and she gets beeped from behind and a bloke pulls up besides her, puts his hands out wondering what's going on. 'So I told my daughter to politely to pull up right next to him and he proceeded to put the window down. 'So I told her to put the window down, and there was some verbal exchanges.' The Broncos star said the other driver didn't recognise him as the two men argued. 'I said, "listen mate, she's on her L's you can see that, we've got them all over the car. What's your problem?"' Reynolds said. 'And he said "hurry up", and I said "she's a learner mate, what do you expect? Have some respect". 'That was the polite version. And his window went up very quickly and he sped off after that.' When pressed if things could have escalated to violence, the footy star said there was a chance. 'If he got out of the car, I was getting out of the car... I've got my daughter there.' Despite some unfriendly drivers, Reynolds has spoken about how much he loves the lifestyle in Brisbane following his move from the Rabbitohs after losing the 2021 Grand Final. 'The club and city have welcomed me and my family with open arms, family means everything to me and this is home,' he said. 'We are really building something special here and I want to be a part of that moving forward. 'To be able to finish my career at the club which has given me so much over the past few seasons means a lot to me.'

Neighbours stars Tim Robards and April Rose Pengilly reunite in gory horror film

Neighbours stars Tim Robards and April Rose Pengily have returned to screens for a very surprising - and gory - reunion in Australian horror film Drax. The pair, who starred together as a married couple in the long-running soap, play two lovers on a date that goes pear shaped after they encounter a monstrous force. Their scene is a homecoming for fans of Neighbours, who bid farewell to Tim's character, businessman Pierce Greyson, following his shock decision to quit the show in 2020. Drax was written and directed by Australian filmmaker James Demitri, and is currently on the festival circuit. 'April and I had fun being in a very different scenario, and in US accent,' Tim said of his experience filming with April again. 'It was kind of very familiar, but also totally different. I get to play a real a**hole which is fun.... and second nature!' he laughed. April also spoke fondly of the reunion, saying: 'I've known [director] James since early in my modelling days, and obviously worked closely with Tim on Neighbours (we were married, after all!) so it was lots of fun reuniting with them both on set.' 'It's always great working with people you know as you have a shorthand way of communicating and can get stuck into the work straight away - there's no awkward 'getting to know you' phase.' Filmed in neon-lit Sydney, Drax is described as a contemporary spin on the vampire genre. It tells the tale of a disillusioned bloodsucker and artist Drax (played by David Charlie) who becomes entangled with a young skater named Marcus (Finn Middleton). Also starring in the film are Australian talents Emily Teede and Tatjana Marjanovic, with cameos from Matt Levett, Alex Pychtin, Tomi Grainger and Monique Simone. 'For me, Drax is about the question of who is the real monster when the mask comes off. It explores regrets and how people carry them, how those regrets shape us and become part of who we are,' Demitri said in a press release. April and Tim starred together on Neighbours from 2018 to 2020, initially playing lovers before their characters tied the knot in December 2019. Their union, however, was short-lived, as cracks soon began to show throughout 2020 with storylines involving loss, betrayal and distance. Their scene (pictured) is a homecoming for fans of Neighbours, who bid farewell to Tim's character, businessman Pierce Greyson, following his shock decision to quit the show in 2020 'For me, Drax is about the question of who is the real monster when the mask comes off. It explores regrets and how people carry them, how those regrets shape us and become part of who we are,' says director James Demitri By the end of that year, the couple had separated, bringing their on-screen romance to an end. Shortly after, Tim stepped away from the soap. He had originally joined the cast in 2018 for what was meant to be a short guest role, but his popularity saw the part expanded into a regular role. Tim is married to Anna Heinrich. The couple share two daughters - Elle, three, Ruby, one. Anna and Tim met on the 2013 season of The Bachelor.
