Oscar Mayer's Wienermobile fleet set to race during Indy 500's Carb Day festivities
The race is scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m. during race week's annual Carb Day festivities. Fans can watch the "Wienie 500" live on the FOX Sports app and across @INDYCARonFOX social accounts. Highlights from the race during Sunday's Indy 500 pre-race show on FOX.
This will mark the first time in a decade that all six vehicles in the company fleet will "meat-up" at the same location, and it's the first time they've ever raced. Each Wienermobile will represent a regional favorite — the New York Dog for the East, Slaw Dog for the Southeast, Chilli Dog for the South, Chi Dog for the Midwest, Seattle Dog for the Northwest and Sonoran Dog for the Southwest.
There will also be custom Hotdogger racing suits and a trophy presentation in "Wiener's Circle" as part of the race.
"The Indy 500 marks the unofficial kickoff of summer and the start of hot dog season," Oscar Mayer brand communications director Kelsey Rice said in a statement. "As a brand known for sparking smiles in disarmingly delightful ways, it's only fitting that we bring a race of epic proportions to the Speedway and celebrate a timeless tradition: delicious meats and a little friendly competition to kick off a summer of wieners."
Fans who attend the Carb Day festivities can also get involved in the "Wienie 500." Fans can win cash prizes by predicting the results of the race through a series of questions on DraftKings. There will be a total of $10,000 in cash prizes.

Report: NBC Sports, USA, Golf Channel expected to keep U.S. Open, U.S. Women's Open
Despite a serious bid from Netflix, it appears the U.S. Open and U.S. Women's Open will stay on the same group of TV networks, according to reporting done by John Ourand of Puck. The U.S. Golf Association's contract with NBCUniversal runs through Dec. 31, 2026, but the two sides are working to re-sign for a longer term, which would keep the two major championships (among others) on NBC, USA Network and the Golf Channel. Back in 2020, the USGA moved its media rights from Fox Sports to NBCUniversal, a move that ended a 12-year deal with Fox Sports worth about $1 billion. After the COVID-19 pandemic forced the USGA to move the dates of the U.S. Open from June to September, Fox Sports struggled to find the broadcast hours needed for the championship, USGA officials noted, given their additional commitments to the NFL, MLB and college football. Talks that began looking into how Fox Sports and NBC/Golf Channel might work together ultimately ended in NBC taking over entirely. But with the contract due to expire at the end of next year, and NBC Universal taking a different look, talks are on to extend the deal with the same partners. According to a story from CNBC back in May, Comcast spun off most of its cable network stations into a new company named Versant. Versant, which had been called SpinCo until a permanent name was chosen, will own cable networks including USA, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel. It will also house digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass and SportsEngine. The rest of Comcast's NBCUniversal portfolio, including the broadcast network, Peacock streaming service, Universal Studios, the theme parks and Bravo, will remain with Comcast. The new name isn't meant to be consumer-facing. Lazarus said he wants Versant to be viewed as a house of brands, with each asset interacting with users rather than the corporate holding entity. This would mark Versant's first major sports rights deal and it's expected to net the USGA roughly the same as the original Fox deal did in 2013. This time around, Netflix had bid for the rights, after ESPN, CBS and Warner Bros. Discovery inquired, but the NBCUniversal extension appears to be the most likely scenario. Fox Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt has Clemson dethroning Ohio State
Joel Klatt hasn't been shy about his belief in Clemson this offseason, but now the FOX Sports lead college football analyst is making it official. Klatt rolled out his College Football Playoff projections this week, and he's calling for the Tigers to win the 2025 national championship. In his bracket, Clemson earns the No. 3 seed and takes down Oregon in the quarterfinal before meeting Texas in the semifinal. That run would lead to a title matchup against Ohio State in Miami Gardens, a high-stakes opportunity for the Tigers to reverse the script after falling to the Buckeyes in the 2020 CFP semifinal. Klatt has consistently pointed to Clemson's roster as the reason for his confidence. Senior quarterback Cade Klubnik, who piled up 3,639 yards and 36 touchdowns last season, gives the Tigers the type of playmaker who can win games at the highest level. On defense, he highlighted edge rusher T.J. Parker and defensive tackle Peter Woods, both viewed as cornerstones of what could be one of the most disruptive units in the country. For Klatt, it's not just about individual stars. He argues that Dabo Swinney's track record proves Clemson remains built to compete for championships. Swinney has guided the Tigers to 13 double-digit win seasons in the last 14 years, with two of those ending in national titles behind Trevor Lawrence and Deshaun Watson. Adding another with Klubnik and a retooled defense, Klatt says, would show Swinney can evolve and win in the modern game, even as critics have questioned his approach to NIL and the transfer portal. That kind of resurgence, Klatt believes, would be reminiscent of Nick Saban's ability to keep Alabama at the top of the sport by reinventing his program multiple times over a decade-long stretch. If Clemson lifts the trophy this January, Swinney would join Saban as one of the few active coaches to claim three national titles. Clemson enters the season ranked No. 4 in the AP preseason poll, opening with a heavyweight matchup against LSU on Aug. 30 at Memorial Stadium. If Klatt's forecast holds true, it will be the first step in a season that ends with the Tigers back on top of college football.
