Moglix Forays into the Energy Sector with DRG Industries 'Next-Gen Bitumen Facility
New Delhi [India], July 15: Moglix, one of Asia's largest B2B e-commerce and supply chain technology companies, has announced the inauguration of its greenfield bitumen processing facility under DRG Industries, the manufacturing arm of Moglix. Located in Kosi Kalan, Mathura, the facility is set to commence commercial production in July 2025. This marks a strategic step in Moglix's commitment to powering India's infrastructure transformation with future-ready, sustainable materials.
India's vision of Viksit Bharat hinges on developing infrastructure that is not only expansive but also durable, safe, and sustainable. With the world's second-largest road network, the next frontier for India lies in enhancing road quality and longevity--while simultaneously addressing environmental impact and safety.
Road safety remains a national priority. As the country targets a significant reduction in road-related incidents by 2030, materials that deliver long-term surface integrity and reduce deterioration risks are essential. Moglix's entry into bitumen manufacturing is anchored in this vision of building safer, smarter roads.
Through DRG Industries, Moglix will produce a new generation of value-added, high-performance bitumen products--including polymer-modified bitumen, microsurfacing-grade emulsions, and hard binders. These solutions are engineered to extend road life, minimize maintenance cycles, and reduce total carbon footprint.
One of the facility's key offerings--microsurfacing--is globally recognized for sealing surface cracks, improving road friction, and increasing durability. When compared to traditional resurfacing, microsurfacing can double pavement life while reducing carbon emissions by up to 44%.
To further localize innovation, Moglix is investing in indigenous R & D to develop bitumen solutions tailored to India's diverse terrain, traffic patterns, and climate zones.
Rahul Garg, Founder & CEO, Moglix, said, "Our roads are the veins of Viksit Bharat. Building them stronger and smarter requires materials that are not only durable but sustainable. DRG Industries is our commitment to building roads that last longer, perform better, and serve more--with responsibility at the core."
Spread across 3.5 acres, the DRG Industries facility integrates advanced Denimotech mills, fully automated processing lines, and a dedicated in-house R & D center. With an installed monthly processing capacity of over 28,000 MT, the facility positions Moglix as a key player in India's evolving bitumen ecosystem.
The facility uses biomass-fueled, carbon-neutral high-efficiency boilers equipped with scrubber systems and filter bags, making the heating process significantly more sustainable and aligned with Moglix's ESG roadmap.
Strategically located to serve northern and central India, the plant will support infrastructure projects across Uttar Pradesh, NCR, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and also cater to export markets such as Nepal.
In addition to bolstering India's infrastructure ambitions, the facility is expected to generate local employment and strengthen the regional SME ecosystem through vendor and contractor partnerships.
As a greenfield project, DRG Industries exemplifies Moglix's capability to design, develop, and operationalize industrial infrastructure that is scalable, sustainable, and aligned with national priorities. The company plans to expand its bitumen manufacturing footprint across India.
Moglix is one of Asia's leading B2B commerce companies, transforming how manufacturing and infrastructure businesses manage procurement and supply chain operations. 2nd Sustainable Agriculture Summit 2025 Calls for Green Growth to Power India's Economic Future
New Delhi, Delhi, India (NewsVoir) As India sets its sights on becoming the world's largest economy by 2047, Union Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment Ramdas Athawale asserted that the nation's growth story must be rooted in the progress of its farmers and the adoption of sustainable agriculture. Speaking at a national conference in Delhi on sustainable agriculture, he said that keeping farmers at the centre of economic transformation will be essential for realising the vision of Viksit Bharat as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The 2nd Sustainable Agriculture Summit & Awards 2025 organized by Sustainability Matters and IndiAgri, and supported by Indian Railway Finance Corporation, Godrej Agrovet, IPL Biologicals, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), and Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL), brought together an influential cross-section of stakeholders, progressive farmers, industry leaders, scientists, development practitioners and senior bureaucrats from across the country. 'A strong agricultural base will ensure that India's economic growth is inclusive and resilient,' Athawale said, adding that initiatives which integrate environmental sustainability with farmer welfare will be critical for India's long-term prosperity. Setting the tone for the deliberations, Dr Jayadev Sarangi, IAS (Retd), Former Secretary, Government of Delhi and Government of Goa, noted that agriculture today is not just about food security but about economic strategy. 'Every investment we make in sustainable agriculture translates into greater national stability and global competitiveness,' he observed. Such investments, speakers pointed out, need a robust financial backbone. India's agri-credit flow crossed Rs. 20 lakh crore in FY2024, but much of it remains concentrated in short-term crop loans rather than long-term climate-resilient infrastructure. Manoj Kumar Dubey, Chairman & Managing Director, Indian Railway Finance Corporation, said 'The private and public sectors must work in tandem to unlock capital for green and farmer-centric innovations. Financing climate-smart agriculture is an investment in India's economic future.' Beyond financing, panellists noted, execution at the grassroots often determines the real impact of policies and programs. District administrations have been central to introducing innovations that not only address climate and resource challenges but also diversify farm incomes in regions dependent on traditional crop cycles. Highlighting the role of innovative crop diversification, Ms Deepshikha, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, Ferozepur, shared her experience from Ferozepur, Punjab. She said the district is boosting farmer welfare by promoting chilli cultivation between paddy and wheat cycles. 'This diversification has improved incomes, enhanced soil health, and reduced environmental stress,' she noted. She was among six IAS officers honoured for their district-level sustainable initiatives, alongside Ravi Anand, IAS, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate, Jamtara; Pamela Satpathy, IAS, District Collector, Karimnagar; Hari Chandana, IAS, District Collector, Hyderabad and Himanshu Nagpal, IAS, Chief Development Officer, Varanasi; Rajesh Jogpal, IAS, Haryana. Such local interventions, speakers observed, work best when complemented by strong market linkages and rural entrepreneurship, enabling farmers to capture more value beyond the farmgate. Dr Rajendra Prasad, General Manager & Regional Head, SIDBI, noted that while SIDBI's primary mandate is to support MSMEs, it also has an important role in encouraging entrepreneurship across industries, including agriculture. 'As a financing institution, we are leveraging resources from international, multilateral, and bilateral partners to fund mitigation projects that address climate and sustainability challenges. I invite all institutions working in this space to collaborate with us so that together we can channelise these resources towards achieving the government's vision for Viksit Krishi. We believe the time for action is now,' he said. Dr Vimala Prakash, Head of the Technology Innovation Center at IPL Biologicals Limited, added that science-led innovation is bridging the gap between farm needs and sustainable outcomes. 'Biologicals, precision tools, and data-driven practices can transform Indian agriculture into a global benchmark,' she said. Siba P Mohanty, Managing Director, Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL), stressed on the role of responsible input management and water stewardship in securing the future of Indian agriculture. 'Innovations like zero liquid discharge systems, efficient nutrient management, and training in water-smart practices show how environmental responsibility and economic growth can go hand in hand. The future of climate-resilient agriculture lies in blending technology with strong farmer engagement,' he said. 'This summit is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a Viksit Bharat, where agriculture is not a constraint but a catalyst for sustainable growth,' said Dr Navneet Anand, Executive Director of Sustainability Matters. 'Under the banner of Krishi 2047, our aim is to document what's working on the ground and build a platform for dialogue, recognition, and policy linkages that can take these models national,' Anand said. The awards ceremony recognised exemplary work across multiple categories, celebrating achievers such as Godrej Agrovet; IPL Biologicals; Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL); SeedWorks International Limited; Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur; Love Kumar, District Agriculture Officer & District Horticulture Officer, Jamtara; Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Bhagalpur; Agri Entrepreneur Growth Foundation; Dhaksha; and the Federation of Seed Industry of India. HMPL's Subsidiary Quippo Oil & Gas Infrastructure Secures Rs. 280.1 Cr Oil India Limited's Order
NewsVoir Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 11: Hazoor Multi Projects Ltd. (HMPL), one of India's fastest-growing infrastructure and engineering enterprises, is pleased to announce that its recently acquired subsidiary, Quippo Oil & Gas Infrastructure Ltd., has been awarded a contract valued at Rs. 280.1 Crore by Oil India Limited, a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking (PSU). The contract involves the charter hire of one drilling rig, reinforcing Quippo's credentials in the upstream oil and gas services domain and marking HMPL's bold entry into India's upstream energy services sector-positioning the company to play a long-term role in the country's energy infrastructure development. This Oil India Order is more than a business win-it signals HMPL's strategic shift from a pure-play EPC operator to an integrated platform capable of executing in capital-intensive, high-barrier industries. The acquisition of Quippo was a deliberate, fundamentals-driven step aligned with national energy priorities, aimed at unlocking value in sectors characterized by recurring revenues, limited competition, and policy-driven tailwinds. India's upstream Oil and Gas sector is poised for significant expansion, supported by the government's commitment to reduce energy import dependence by 10% and attract over $100 billion in energy infrastructure investment by 2030. Policy enablers such as the Hydrocarbon Exploration and Licensing Policy (HELP) and the Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP) are designed to boost domestic exploration and enhance oil recovery, creating sustained demand for high-performance service providers like Quippo. Quippo, a pioneer in India's onshore oilfield services landscape, significantly strengthens HMPL's operating base with deep technical and executional capabilities. Its asset base includes a fleet of 14 advanced drilling rigs, ranging from 650 HP to 3000 HP, equipped with top-drive systems capable of deep and complex drilling operations. Supported by a team of over 400 oilfield professionals with global experience and a strong safety-first culture, Quippo has a proven track record, including the successful execution of over 125 wells across India, notably delivering the deepest onshore well in Indian history-in Assam-completed ahead of schedule and under budget. Its diversified service portfolio spans directional drilling, work-over operations, cementing, seismic surveys, and integrated field development, making it one of the few Indian players capable of offering end-to-end upstream solutions. These capabilities immediately enhance HMPL's ability to pursue large-scale, integrated energy service contracts within the oil and gas industry. With high entry barriers, limited domestic competition, and increasing demand for turnkey service models, Quippo's platform positions HMPL at the center of a sector that offers stable, recurring revenue, margin durability, and long-cycle growth potential. HMPL's evolution reflects a broader ambition-not merely to be a contractor of road infrastructure, but to emerge as a strategic partner in India's energy and industrial growth story, with a clear focus on creating sustainable, long-term stakeholder value through disciplined execution, intelligent diversification, and consistent value creation across all its verticals. Hazoor Multi Projects Ltd. (HMPL) is a BSE listed, diversified infrastructure and engineering company based in Mumbai, with core operations spanning highways, civil EPC works, and shipyard services and now in Oil and Gas Sector. Known for execution excellence and strategic clarity, HMPL has built a solid track record across capital-intensive, nationally significant projects. With a focus on scalable growth, recurring revenues, and multi-vertical integration, HMPL is building a future-ready platform at the intersection of infrastructure, energy, and industrial technology.
