Flogging Molly frontman Dave King is 'battling a very serious health condition,' according to a statement from the band. As a result, the Celtic-punk band has canceled all 2025 tour dates.
The band shared the news on its social media accounts Wednesday (February 5th), without specifying King's specific health condition. In addition to the canceled tour dates, King will miss Flogging Molly's 2025 Salty Dog Cruise, which sets sail in 12 days. However, the cruise will go on, with the other bands on the lineup as well as select members of Flogging Molly.
King is married to Flogging Molly violinist and vocalist Bridget Regan, with the couple asking for privacy during this difficult time. The full statement from the band reads as follows:
'To our family, friends and fans,
Our fearless leader, the inimitable Dave King, is currently battling a very serious health condition. Dave and Bridget ask everyone to respect their privacy at this time, we will share as we can. Any good thoughts or prayers you can send Dave's way, he and we would appreciate it.
Unfortunately Flogging Molly will be unable to perform shows in 2025. With the Salty Dog Cruise 12 days away, the boat will sail as planned with 18 bands, and members of Flogging Molly, on board to celebrate the cruise, the community and our captain, Dave King.
Thank you,
Flogging Molly
*For the headline dates after the cruise, please contact your point of purchase for refund instructions'
Flogging Molly had been slated to embark on a US tour on February 24th in St. Petersburg, Florida. The outing was set to lead up to the band's three-day 'Shamrock Rebellion' celebration in three cities (Las Vegas, Tempe, and Los Angeles) over St. Patrick's Day weekend.
The Dublin-born King formed Flogging Molly in Los Angeles in 1994. He previously had been in the band Fastway with 'Fast' Eddie Clarke (Motörhead) and Pete Way (UFO).
Our best wishes go out to Dave King for a full recovery. See Flogging Molly's social media post below.

King Charles' birthday isn't until November. So why is it being celebrated in June?

Trooping the Colour 2025 will take place in London on Saturday. The annual military parade serves as King Charles III's official birthday celebration. The royal family gathers on the balcony of Buckingham Palace as part of the event. King Charles III was born on November 14, 1948, which means two things: He is among the most famous Scorpios in the world, and you probably wouldn't expect him to be thinking about his birthday in June. But thousands will celebrate the king's birthday in the UK on Saturday at Trooping the Colour, one of the biggest royal events of the year. According to the royal family's website, Trooping the Colour, a massive parade that takes place in June, has been the British sovereign's official birthday celebration for over 260 years. The annual celebration occurs in June, regardless of when the reigning monarch's actual birthday is. The royal family's website says that June is the ideal time to host the parade because the chance of the weather being suitable for outdoor activities in London is high compared to other times of the year. According to History, King George II, who was born in October, was the first monarch to move his birthday pageantry to the summer, but he combined his official celebration with a summer military parade in 1748. The reigning monarch's actual birthday is still publicly acknowledged with a royal gun salute, but the sovereign typically celebrates privately otherwise. During Trooping the Colour, a parade of royals and military personnel travels from Buckingham Palace to the Horse Guards Parade at Whitehall in London. The royal family's website states that the parade includes over 1,400 soldiers, 400 musicians, and 200 horses, and the royals typically ride on horseback or in carriages. The monarch can participate in the event from either carriage or horseback. According to the BBC, Queen Elizabeth II rode a horse during the parade until 1987. Once the parade reaches Whitehall, the monarch formally inspects the troops during the ceremony. Likewise, the chosen Regimental Colour, or flag, is carried through the ranks of participating soldiers before they march back to Buckingham Palace. Thousands of onlookers cheer on the participants as they process. According to an FOIA request to the Ministry of Defence, the 2021 Trooping the Colour cost 59,662 pounds, which would be about $81,000 today. That total includes stable costs, transportation, and fuel, among other fees, though it does not factor in the cost of the police presence required to keep the event safe for the royals and attendees. Trooping the Colour culminates in a flypast by RAF pilots over Buckingham Palace as the royal family watches from the balcony. Trooping the Colour marks one of the few times a year the royal family gathers in one place, so they are always heavily photographed when they appear on the balcony. The occasion offers a chance to see how royals interact with each other, with people analyzing shots of Princess Diana and Prince Harry in years past. Royal children often steal the show when they appear at Buckingham Palace for the event as well. Royals also use the occasion to send a message to the public since it draws so much public interest. For instance, the 2024 Trooping the Colour served as the backdrop for Kate Middleton to make her return to public duty after she announced she was undergoing treatment for cancer in March 2024. She rode to the event in a carriage with her children and waved from the Buckingham Palace balcony with the royal family. The Princess of Wales announced she was in remission in January. Likewise, King Charles appeared at the 2024 Trooping the Colour amid his ongoing weekly cancer treatments, though he rode in a carriage in the parade with Queen Camilla instead of on horseback as a result of his health. The Times reported the monarch will ride in a carriage again for the 2025 event, though Prince William, his heir, and his sister Princess Anne will ride on horseback through the parade. Anne is the king's Gold-Stick-In-Waiting, his ceremonial personal protection officer, at ceremonial events. She first served as her brother's gold stick at his 2023 coronation. Billie Eilish's Most Recent Album Jumps 3,100% In Sales

Billie Eilish's Hit Me Hard and Soft (Isolated Vocals) surges 3,100% in U.S. sales, reentering ... More Billboard's Vinyl Albums and Top Album Sales charts at new high points. (Photo by Gilbert Flores/Billboard via Getty Images) In November 2024, Billie Eilish joined dozens of other well-known musicians in releasing a special project for Record Store Day. The singer-songwriter unveiled the vinyl edition of Hit Me Hard and Soft (Isolated Vocals), the a cappella version of her latest full-length effort. The project quickly became a bestseller in the United States, though only for a single week. Fans rapidly purchased the several thousand available copies, after which the collection vanished. Now, months later, the title has made a remarkable comeback — and this time, it's bigger than ever. In the past tracking frame, Luminate reports that Hit Me Hard and Soft (Isolated Vocals) sold 5,100 copies throughout the U.S. In the previous period, the set managed fewer than 200. Those numbers mark a staggering growth of more than 3,100% in just a few days. The uptick in pure sales comes after Hit Me Hard and Soft (Isolated Vocals) became widely available once again. Eilish began selling the a cappella set on her website, and those dedicated supporters who missed out in late 2024 began snapping up the release in the thousands. Now, the collection has quickly become a top performer on several Billboard rankings in the U.S. Hit Me Hard and Soft (Isolated Vocals) returns to two charts this week. The project reenters the Vinyl Albums tally at No. 5, where it is one of Eilish's half-dozen top 10s on that list. It also nearly breaks into the top 10 on the Top Album Sales chart, settling at No. 12. Both of those two placements represent new high points for Hit Me Hard and Soft (Isolated Vocals). It's also worth noting that the set has now spent just two weeks on each of those rosters. While Hit Me Hard and Soft (Isolated Vocals) surges, the standard version of the album is largely declining this week. It drops on four of the six Billboard tallies on which it appears, though it does manage to once again lead both the Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts.

‘When I Started In Music, It Was Designed To Pit Women Against Each Other': Kelly Rowland On Leveling Up Her Industry

'We have to be aware of how the patriarchy makes its way into our psyches,' says Kelly Rowland in her West London abode. 'When I started in the music industry, it was designed to pit women against each other.' It's a sharp, clear-eyed reflection from an artist who has spent three decades learning how to resist the roles the world tries to write for her. With over 40 million solo and 60 million group records sold with Destiny's Child; 4 Grammys and multiple other awards, the Atlanta born musician is redefining what it means to be a woman in the industry. Joining the next series of The Voice UK later this year, Rowland is committed to paying it forward by coaching a whole new cohort of British musicians. For ELLE UK and Fendi's Celebration Of Women In Music last night, Rowland looked every inch the icon in a deep chocolate, cinched waist skirt suit by Fendi. FIND OUT MORE ON ELLE COLLECTIVE Ahead of the intimate dinner, she talked us through the look, as well as sharing her summer style staples and what it means to be 'forever fly'. On her look for ELLE UK x Fendi celebration of women in music event... 'How do I feel in this look? Like a lady. I love the rich chocolate colour and the mix of textures. Fendi always play with texture, like with this silk on the skirt. I added a ring over the glove because I love touches of gold – the earrings too – they really pull the brown out. It's sexy and feminine, but with an edge. It's buttoned up, but the silhouette is so strong. To me, seeing a woman's silhouette is a kind of power. My glam team really helped pull it all together. Rio Sreedharan is so creative with hair, and my makeup artist tonight, Esther Edeme, has this way of making the skin look airbrushed. It's one of the things that drew me to her– we met in the DMs!' On her summer of 'nautical dressing'... 'I'm leaning a little nautical this year. I love what Sofia Richie Grainge did with her Tommy Hilfiger capsule collection, these classic pieces and cute t-shirts. I'll be wearing a lot of button ups this summer, a lot of linens, because I can actually take those from beach to really chic. I do a lot of bell bottom jeans because I like the fact that you can get some air in them.' On embracing vintage fashion… 'In my wardrobe I have an old pair of really messed up Dolce jeans, which came with matching boots. I can't fit into the jeans anymore, but the boots I still treasure. I have this really beautiful green Valentino kaftan, a Carolina Herrera blush dress and a vintage Versace bustier that I love. And, oh my God, this Alaïa bustier that made for me himself in his workshop. I also still have the dress from the Destiny's Child Independent Women video! I'm having so much fun vintage shopping at the moment. While I was shooting my upcoming film, Relationship Goals in Canada, I found this Toteme top that's almost see through. The fabric is so beautiful and light. I'm finding a lot of things that were really fly at the time, and making them circle back.' …And stepping away from trends 'In my 20s I always followed trends, in my 30s I asked myself, who am I trying to keep up with? I wanted to wear pieces that are classic and timeless. I remember going through my closet going, 'this is too trendy, I hate this, I don't need this'. Remember f*cking low waisted jeans? It served its time, and now here I am, a mother of two, and I love high waisted jeans. I also want to responsible, I don't want to keep buying new. I love Margiela Tabis, they will always be fly. I recently found these white Phoebe Philo for Celine vintage kitten heels at the consignment store. Again I thought, these are fly, these will always be fly. It's forever, it's how you wear it.' On her creativity and inspiration... 'I'm inspired by women every single day. Right now I'm reading Nikki Giovanni's Love Poems, and watching Forever on Netflix. Mara Brock Akil adapted the story from the Judy Blume book. It's about teenage love and it's so beautiful because it's done from the Black perspective. I watched an interview from Mara Brock Akil recently, she has two Black boys and she was talking about how she was inspired by her children. The whole series just blows your freaking mind. It gave me butterflies, it made me cry. I really saw myself in the mother and the young girl in love; all the characters just jump off the screen.' On partnering with Birthfund, the Elaine Welteroth-founded organisation addressing the US maternal health crisis... 'With all the madness that's happening in the States right now, the last thing that's on anybody's mind is the safety of bringing a child into this world, especially as a woman, especially as a woman of colour. That often gets overlooked. I almost lost a girlfriend of mine a couple years ago because she was overlooked [by the healthcare system]. Birthfund provides grants for women so that they have the safest, most comfortable birth they possibly can, where they feel seen and heard. Elaine is full of love and greatness, and when she called me about this idea, I said, 'if this is on your heart, you're supposed to do it'. I'm really proud of her for trusting herself.' On joining the Voice UK as a coach... 'There is something in the water over here! Everybody's voices have this beautiful grit. As a musician, I want to give back to all the artists that have given to me. The auditions really took me back to my beginnings. They have so much soul, honesty and authenticity. The stories from these contestants and the way they've evolved.. I can't wait for everyone to watch it.' On her playlist this summer... 'Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Sade, Bob Marley. Repeat.'
