Karnataka's Siddaramaiah launches real-time 'CM Dashboard' for development monitoring

), a platform that provides real-time, integrated insights into key development indicators across Karnataka was launched on Friday.
It was launched by Chief Minister
Siddaramaiah
during the review meeting with Deputy Commissioners of all districts and CEOs of all Zilla Panchayats at Vidhana Soudha, the seat of the state legislature and secretariat here.
The dashboard, developed in-house by the
Centre for e-Governance
(CeG), is now functionally complete and hosted under the domain cmdashboard.karnataka.gov.in. This platform provides real-time, integrated insights into key development indicators across Karnataka, enabling
data-driven governance
and decision-making at the highest level, an official release said.
The dashboard is built using a microservices-based architecture, ensuring scalability and ease of integration, and the data is integrated via APIs (Application Programming Interface) from various departments, eliminating manual entry.
According to officials, the dashboard categorises state performance data into four primary sectors:
Economic Growth
(e.g., investments, beneficiaries), Legal/Judiciary Management (e.g., RTI, Sakala case disposals),
Infrastructure Development
(e.g., roads, irrigation, renewable energy), and
Citizen-Centric Governance
(e.g., Guarantee Schemes, Janaspandana).
Live Events
Designed to promote transparency, the portal displays real-time progress metrics and enables public access to key schemes and service outcomes, they said.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday announced that the Bengaluru Tech Summit, 2025, will be held from November 18 to 20 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, and told diplomats of different countries that Karnataka is 'open and ready to partner with the world.' Speaking at 'Bridge to Bengaluru', a dialogue with diplomats on global innovation alliance for technology as a prelude to India's flagship technology forum, in New Delhi, the Chief Minister said, 'Whether through technology, tourism or talent, we see global collaboration as the path to shared success.' He said the Bengaluru Tech Summit hosted Nobel Laureates, world leaders, and innovators in the past year. 'This year, we expect over 1,00,000 attendees, 1,200 exhibitors, and 600 speakers from 60 countries.' Inclusive growth Noting that Karnataka is committed to inclusive growth, Mr. Siddaramaiah said innovation districts in Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Belagavi would boost research and jobs. Initiatives like fintech in Mangaluru and drone development in Hubballi-Dharwad have shown balanced progress in the State. 'The Tech Summit is a chance to connect, collaborate, and shape a shared future,' he said. The Chief Minister said Karnataka is an economic powerhouse with a GSDP of $337 billion, India's fourth-largest economy, contributing nearly 9% to the national GDP. Bengaluru is a global tech leader, ranked among the top 15 start-up ecosystems worldwide. It hosts over 18,000 start-ups, including 50 plus unicorns, and 40% of India's Global Capability Centres, with R&D hubs from companies like Bosch, Intel, and SAP. Skilling youth 'Through programmes like NIPUNA Karnataka, we are training over 1,00,000 young people in skills like AI, cybersecurity, and biotechnology, partnering with global leaders like Microsoft and Accenture', Mr. Siddaramaiah said.

Karnataka high court tells govt to file status reporton pending Sakala applications
Bengaluru: The Karnataka high court has directed the state govt to file a status report on the number of pending applications under the Sakala Services Act. The date on which such applications were filed and the estimated time required for their disposal also need to be indicated in the report, which should be filed in four weeks, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru and Justice CM Joshi observed in their order. The next hearing will take place on Oct 29. The court was hearing a PIL filed by S Gowri Shankar, a resident of Bengaluru. The petitioner requested the court to pass an order to the effect that interest or penalties levied on property owners due to delays by BBMP should be returned to the taxpayers or adjusted against future taxes. However, the court declined to accept this request. In the event any particular taxpayer is aggrieved by the imposition of interest despite delays on the part of the authorities, he would be entitled to seek appropriate remedies," the bench observed. In his petition filed in 2022, Gowri Shankar also said the process to claim a refund should be formulated and communicated to eligible property owners. He sought that all pending Sakala appeals should be immediately disposed of, along with the disbursal of compensation to eligible applicants and actions initiated against wilful defaulters.

It has been full of twists, real and imagined. Caution had filled the April air as the Siddaramaiah regime dusted off Karnataka's 2015 caste survey report. Tense cabinet meets ensued, amid a feared backlash from the Lingayat-Vokkaliga caste duopoly. Meanwhile, a googly came from the Centre: on April 30, after years of holding out, it relented on including a national caste count in the 2026 census. The Congress claimed credit for forcing the U-turn, but soon made one of its own. Karnataka effectively junked the 2015 report.
