Milford teen killed in early morning rollover crash in Northbridge
Police officers responded to a one-car crash on Quaker Street. Responding officers found the vehicle, a 2010 Honda Civic, down an embankment with the driver trapped inside, Northbridge police chief Tim Laabie told Boston 25 News.
Crews were eventually able to pull Maverick Westcott, 18, of Milford out of the heavily damaged Civic but pronounced him deceased at the scene.
An initial investigation determined that the Civic was traveling south on Quaker Street at a high rate of speed when it lost control, left the roadway, flipped over the guard rail, and struck a tree, crushing the roof.
The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney's office is assisting Northbridge police with the investigation.

A man with an alleged history of reckless driving has pleaded not guilty to all counts regarding his recent arrest for instances of unsafe behavior behind the wheel. June 18: McCreary reported his silver 2025 Honda Civic stolen in Seattle. The car was later found crashed and impounded at a West Seattle tow yard. June 20: Officers spotted a suspicious white Chevrolet Malibu without plates parked near the same tow yard. When an officer approached, police said McCreary jumped into the car and reversed toward the patrol vehicle, forcing the officer back until he was pinned against a fence. McCreary allegedly made hand gestures before speeding away. June 24: Kent police saw the same Malibu speeding on Pacific Highway South. When officers tried to stop it, McCreary allegedly fled at high speed and avoided spike strips. Investigators later confirmed his identity through surveillance footage and earlier contact records. August 3: Seattle firefighters reported that McCreary offered them a nitrous oxide canister, known as a 'whippit,' before reversing his Honda Accord into their fire truck several times and then driving away. Shortly after, dashcam video captured the same vehicle, damaged and missing plates, attempting to hit pedestrians and eluding Shoreline officers by brake-checking them and swerving into oncoming lanes. August 6: Seattle and Kent officers, using phone data and surveillance, tracked McCreary to his workplace in Fife, where he was arrested. Reports: Father of Celtics star Jaylen Brown arrested for attempted murder after Las Vegas stabbing
The father of Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown has been arrested for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing someone in a dispute over a parking spot, according to multiple reports. Las Vegas police tell Boston 25 News that officers responded to a stabbing on South Buffalo Drive around 5:42 p.m. local time Wednesday night to find a man suffering from several stab wounds. The altercation began as an argument over a parking spot, according to reports. The suspect, 57-year-old Quenton Marcelles Brown, allegedly fled the scene but was arrested a short time later, according to Las Vegas Police. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for surgery. Brown was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on an attempted murder charge, police say. According to multiple reports, Quenton Marcelles Brown, who goes by his middle name, is the father of NBA star Jaylen Brown. Marselles Brown is a former boxer who made his debut in 1989, tallying a 33-18-1 record, according to TMZ. Jaylen Brown has been selected to four All-Star teams since being drafted by Boston in 2016 and was named NBA Finals MVP in 2024 when the Celtics captured their eighteenth NBA championship. Boston police seek help identifying man accused of pinning woman against vehicle
Police in Boston are turning to the public for help identifying a man wanted in connection with an early morning assault of a woman. The alleged assault happened around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17, in the area of Telegraph and Old Harbor streets in South Boston, according to the Boston Police Department. A preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was walking up Telegraph Street toward Old Harbor Street when she observed the suspect following her, police said. The suspect then allegedly attempted to gain her attention by shouting before rushing toward her and pinning her against a vehicle. He then restrained her arms in an effort to restrict her movement, according to police. Police said the victim screamed, broke free, and fled when the suspect became distracted. Police on Thursday released surveillance images of the suspect with the hope the public can identify him. The suspect is desribed as a Hispanic, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with a medium build, a tan complexion, a black buzz cut. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and dark clothing.
