Hibs Player of the Year Nicky Cadden says his hard work has been worth it

Nicky Cadden was delighted to be named Hibernian FC's 2024/25 Player of the Year.
The left wing-back piped Martin Boyle, Rocky Bushiri, and Nectar Triantis to the coveted award, and received it in his first season with the club.
When speaking to Hibs TV after the awards ceremony, the 28-year-old described his immediate emotions.
'It's massive. I'm very happy. It shows all my hard work has been worth it.
'There are a lot of good players and good people in the dressing room that have played really well this year. I'm just delighted it was me.
'We've got a big game Wednesday to try and secure third, hopefully we can do that, and then we can have a party.'
The 2024/25 campaign was celebrated at the Club's End of Season awards night as players, staff, and supporters looked back at some of the memorable moments from the season, and when speaking with the award in-hand, Nicky explained his personal highlights.
'Beating Celtic and Hearts at home, and Jack Iredale's goal, but only because he's stood behind you!
'Nah, beating them both at home and Hearts away; they're probably the highlights.
'I'm sure if we secure third, that'll take over though. The season's been really good and I'm really happy with it.'
Nicky joined Hibs at the beginning of August and immediately fitted into the dressing, thanks to the support of his twin brother, Chris.
This is the first time the pair have played together professionally, and they've both been enjoying every minute of it.
'I've loved playing with Chris, obviously playing with my brother is a massive thing, but it's not just him, the changing room is good.
'We've got a really good group, so hopefully we can keep most of it together and we can have a right good go next year.'

The Oxford United centre-back Stuart Findlay also close to finalising a move to Edinburgh. Ogundu, 19, played with the Turkish second-tier side Sanliurfaspor last season but is wanted by Super Lig clubs Fenerbahce and Samsunspor. Hearts have put forward an offer to sign Ogundu, although they face further competition for his signature. The player also has interest from Hull City, Sturm Graz, Fortuna Sittard and Gornik Zabrze. He is keen to play at the highest level and Fenerbahce officials have discussed signing him with a view to an immediate loan, which could also appeal to Hearts and others. He moved to Turkey last August from Diamond Academy in his native Nigeria, scoring six goals and claiming two assists in 19 appearances for Sanliurfaspor since making his senior debut in January. His performances captured attention from scouts and his data ranked well when assessed by Hearts' recruitment partner, Jamestown Analytics. McInnes is in the midst of rebuilding the first-team squad at Riccarton. Four signings are already in place in the shape of Norwegian right-back Christian Borchgrevink, Greek winger Alexandros Kyziridis, Belgian striker Elton Kabangu and Irish midfielder Oisin McEntee. McInnes hopes to add both Braga and Ogundu to his attack and is still awaiting a final decision on whether Hearts captain Lawrence Shankland intends to extend his contract. Teenage Scotland internationalist James Wilson is also part of the squad and will compete for game time next season. Latest news on Hearts transfer targets - Arzani and Chesnokov deals In addition to players mentioned above, Hearts have made an approach to sign the Australian international winger Daniel Arzani. He has interest from other clubs in Europe and Asia. Negotiations are continuing as Hearts try to sign the Kazakhstan international forward Islam Chesnokov. He is willing to sign a pre-contract agreement to move to Edinburgh in November but Tynecastle management would prefer a quick deal this summer. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad McInnes has already stated that he sees Wilson as a player who can develop further having watched him emerge from the Riccarton youth academy and play regularly under previous Hearts managers Steven Naismith and Neil Critchley. 'He's one of a few academy products that have come through at the club,' said McInnes. 'Credit to Naisy and Neil who played him. 'Obviously, being involved in the Scotland set-up elevates him. I remember playing a closed-door game against Naisy's team at Rugby Park a while back. The boy came on and I liked him right away. His movement is really top-class in and around the box. He works in tight spaces and he's proven that he's a good footballer. 'He can see that and he knows his way to goal. So the more goal threats you have, the better. It's getting that balance, having the right type of strikers. I want to work with four or five strikers at the top end of the pitch and everybody's got to be able to give something a wee bit different. I think James is one of the boys that's got a lot to offer.'

Uchenna Ogundu wanted by Hearts as part of triple transfer blitz as striker flagged up by analytics

The Sanliurfaspor teenager, 19, is the subject of an offer from the Jambos Hearts are looking to land Nigerian striker Uchenna Ogundu. The Jambos have pitched to land the teenager from Sanliurfaspor. ‌ The Turkish second-tier club are prepared to let their prize asset go for a small fee but are looking for a large sell-on. ‌ The 19-year-old has been flagged up by analytics with Derek McInnes and his scouting team doing a lot of additional work on him. Ogundu pitched in with six goals and two assists in his breakthrough season with Sanliurfaspor. He can also play wide on the right but his main attributes are his pace, strength and an eye for goal. Ogunda only moved to Turkey from the Diamond Academy in his homeland last August. He initially joined just after fellow experienced countryman Olaneaju Kayode. Kayode quickly won a move and Ogunda got the chance to step up and replace him, making his senior debut in January. ‌ Since then he and his career haven't looked back. Hearts are also looking to close the transfer of fellow Claudio Braga from Norwegian side Aalesund. ‌ A fee has been agreed and the deal should be finalised to allow the 25-year-old to join Hearts for pre-season. Hearts are close to finalising the move for McInnes to team up with the big defender who impressed under him when he was on-loan at Kilmarnock. ‌ Hearts are also hitting brick walls in their pursuit of another winger. Out-of-contract Melbourne Victory star Daniel Arzani is a target but the former Celtic player is now considering a number of European options, which could offer Champions League football. Kazakhstan international Islam Chesnokov is another who is on the wanted list but Hearts have been struggling to agree a fee with his side, FC Tobol, in this window. Hearts have already signed Elton Kabangu, Christian Borchgrevink, Oison McEntee and Alexanderos Kyzirdis.
