Amazon Prime Video quietly adds one of the 'best horror shows ever'

Metro13-05-2025
Amazon Prime Video viewers are urging everyone to binge-watch a horror TV series that 'deserved more attention.'
Three of the four seasons of Channel Zero are now available to stream on the streaming platform, free for subscribers.
An anthology series, the storylines for all the episodes are based on popular creepypastas (horror content posted on the internet).
Channel Zero's first season was based on cartoonist and performer Kris Straub's Candle Cove.
Starring Parks and Recreation's Paul Schneider and Killing Eve's Fiona Shaw, it centres on a child psychologist who returns to his hometown to determine if his brother's disappearance is connected to a bizarre children's television series.
The second season follows a young woman and her group of friends as they visit a house of horrors, only to find themselves questioning whether it is a tourist attraction or something more sinister.
Channel Zero's third season focuses on a young woman and her schizophrenic sister who move to a city haunted by a series of disappearances and, after suspecting that they may be connected to a baffling rumour, they must work together to discover what is preying on the city's residents.
On X, viewers have hailed Channel Zero as 'one of the best horror TV shows ever made.'
Among them is @soomuu_, who wrote: 'This Series is amazing. Channel Zero No-End House #AmyForsyth#ChannelZero.'
@HorrorAddictX said: 'It's time we acknowledged Channel Zero as one of the best horror TV shows ever made.'
Echoing their sentiment, @ZacBeThompson shared: 'So pumped for #ChannelZero's return tonight. The best horror show on television. Previous seasons have had sharp writing, incredible atmosphere and chilling visuals. Butcher's Block looks no different.'
@RHStavis commented: 'Like wtf is this?! Heartbreaking. #IYKYK #channelzero But also if you don't know, don't sleep on this incredible series..'
@cevangelista also added: 'CHANNEL ZERO, a horror series that deserved more attention.'
Channel Zero is not the only horror TV show to have gripped Amazon Prime Video users.
They are also 'hopelessly hooked' on Australian series Wolf Creek, which has flown under the radar since its initial release in 2016. More Trending
A spin-off of the movie of the same name, the show follows Eve (Lucy Fry), a 19-year-old American tourist in Australia, who is targeted by the crazed serial killer Mick Taylor (John Jarratt).
However, she survives his attack and embarks on a mission of revenge.
Both seasons of Wolf Creek, which initially aired on streamer Stan, are now available to binge-watch on Amazon Prime Video.
On Google, viewers have hailed the horror as 'phenomenal' but warned it was 'not for the faint-hearted.'

Apple and Google found to have breached Australia's competition laws in landmark court case

Tech giants Apple and Google have been found to have engaged in anti-competitive conduct, paving the way for a payout that could be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Epic Games, the developer of popular online game Fortnite, sued the two tech giants in the Federal Court, claiming they engaged in anti-competitive and unconscionable conduct against those developing apps distributed through iOS and Android devices. The lawsuit was launched after Epic was booted from Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store after attempting to introduce its own payment system into Fortnite games in August 2020. Justice Jonathan Beach on Tuesday found Apple and Google had breached Australia's competition laws, upholding key elements of Epic's case. Apple had a 'substantial degree of market power' because of the restrictions placed on in-app payment systems and the distribution of iOS compatible apps, he said. Google also had a significant degree of market power and was the predominant supplier of Android apps, the court was told. The tech companies' dominance had the effect of substantially lessening competition and breached Australia's competition laws, Justice Beach found. However, he rejected Epic's argument Apple had engaged in unconscionable conduct. Justice Beach also found in favour of a class action lawsuit comprising Australian developers and gamers who claimed Apple and Google's monopolistic practices led to inflated prices. The app developers had to pay higher commissions than they otherwise would have if there was more competition in the market Lawyers for the plaintiffs welcomed the result as a significant win for consumer rights and digital fairness that could have global implications for how digital platforms operate. 'This judgment is a turning point,' said Kimi Nishimura from Maurice Blackburn Lawyers. 'It sends a clear message that even the most powerful corporations must play by the rules and respect the rights of consumers and developers alike.' The lawyers said the decision could result in 'one of the largest class action payouts in Australian legal history with potential compensation of several hundreds of millions of dollars to come from two global corporate Goliaths'. The parties have been given time to consider the 2000-page judgment and will return to the Federal Court at a later date to determine compensation and directives aimed at increasing transparency. A Google spokesperson said the company disagreed with the court's characterisation of its billing policies and practices and would review the full decision. The Epic Games Store and Fortnite will come to iOS in Australia! An Australian court just found that Apple and Google abuse their control over app distribution and in-app payments to limit competition. There are 2,000+ pages of findings that we'll need to dig into to fully... - Epic Games Newsroom (@EpicNewsroom) August 12, 2025 Apple welcomed the 'rejection of some of Epic's claims, however, we strongly disagree with the court's ruling on others.' Epic Games took to social media to herald the result and say Fortnite would return to iOS soon. 'A federal judge just found that Apple and Google both engaged in anti-competitive conduct,' the company wrote. 'Another HUGE Win for Epic Games!' Epic won a separate US case against Google in 2023 after a jury found it had engaged in anti-trust conduct through the Google Play Store. It was less successful in its case against Apple, although the court found the tech giant had engaged in anti-competitive conduct. Apple has also been forced to implement changes to its App Store in Europe, including allowing third-party payment systems.

SeatPicks might not have a crystal ball, but a recent study does indicate there are a few acts the general public has in mind. Here are 15 acts you want to see reunite in the not-too-distant future It's the tail end of 2025, and most of us have witnessed one of music's biggest returns - that of Oasis, who, a year ago this month, announced their reunion shows after Liam Gallagher's set at Leeds and Reading Festival. How time has flown since that moment. As Oasis continue their long-awaited reunion tour in 2025, who are some of the other acts fans want to see return to our stages in the near future? | Getty Images Throughout the year, we were treated to reunions from several acts including Five, Linkin Park, Pulp, Sugababes and the last chance to see Black Sabbath before the death of Ozzy Osbourne only two weeks later. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad But that isn't enough for you all (me included), and as more acts discover the wealth of fortunes regarding reunion shows, for better or for worse, SeatPick, though it would be worth investigating who is next to help our insatiable appetites for nostalgia and reunions. They identified 15 acts based on our constant searches on Google to find out if they're getting back together, to determine who the most in-demand reunions are that people want to see in the not-too-distant future. The science part (Methodology) SeatPick compiled a list of popular disbanded bands from articles and then used the search analytics tool Ahrefs to measure the average global monthly search volume for reunion-related keywords. To gather additional data, they utilised eBay to find the most valuable memorabilia for each band. Finally, they ranked the bands in descending order based on their search volumes to determine which reunions were most in demand among fans. This data was collected in July 2025. Who are the most in-demand reunions UK music fans want to see? Of the top acts SeatPick asked fans who they'd like to see perform a reunion, One Direction topped the list, with some hoping to see the remaining members come together to honour Liam Payne. | Getty Images/Canva Topping the list is a sombre entry, but one many hope might take place in honour of one of the members we lost in 2024. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad One Direction has seen a huge amount of traffic regarding whether a reunion is on the cards - the last time the group performed was on Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve in 2015. But after the death of Liam Payne in 2024, many fans hope a reunion could be on the cards to pay tribute to the late singer. On a wholly lighter note, Led Zeppelin came in at second position for the reunion fans want to see occur in the next 12 months; the last time the group performed dates back to 2010, which became a live release under the name 'Celebration Day.' Girl Power continues to permeate popular culture, also, with a full Spice Girls reunion - complete with Victoria - another hopeful reunion we might see sooner rather than later. Other reunions that entered the top five of SeatPick's study include hopes that Justin Timberlake performs alongside the other members of NSYNC sooner rather than later, while ABBA's enduring appeal sees many want the real version of them performing live rather than the avatars in their place.
